The Guardian reports that cash strapped local authorities have cut back on Smoking Cessation Services.
Deborah Arnott, Chief Executive of Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) says that smoking is still the number one public health challenge facing this country. But, cutbacks hit treatment. Smoking Cessation Servies offer counselling - alongside prescriptions of bupropin (brandname Zyban) or vareniclie (Champix) - and claim a 51% success rate in helping people to stop.
