Following the success of its 2011 apprenticeship scheme, Virgin Media has again launched its search to find a new set of apprentices across the UK. The search in Ealing starts today, and Virgin Media is looking to recruit around 120 bright sparks eager to work hard and develop a new set of skills.
Virgin Media first rolled out its apprenticeship scheme four years ago across the company’s Networks division, providing young people with the opportunity to earn while they learn. Since launch, 530 budding apprentices have joined Virgin Media’s scheme, with nearly 700 expected by the end of the year.
The new 12 month access field apprentice at Virgin Media will work towards the company’s very own, nationally recognised NVQ in Communication Technology. The qualification is highly respected and has been designed to help the apprentices develop a mix of both technical and customer engagement skills in a very short time frame, with a core focus on delivering a fantastic customer experience.
Peter Van-Den-Broeck, head of apprentice programs from Virgin Media said: “Our field apprenticeship scheme is going from strength to strength, with successful applications more than doubling each year since 2008. We are thrilled to be offering apprenticeships to switched-on youngsters in Ealing – it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to invest in the future of the business, while offering local youngsters a great start to their career.”
