This is THE event of the year in Eastbourne. The council put in am amazing amount of hard work to ensure there is something for everyone. The Red Arrows are my favourite, fingers crossed for glorious weather in 2019.

Airbourne is my favorite time of year, with so much to see and do, it is perfect. We love taking a chopper ride over the town. Ideally you should book accommodation with private parking as it gets busy. We always book hospitality for Saturday and Sunday so we have a base to come back to and if course an enjoyable lunch!!! There is a great variety of street food, not just burger Vans, we had whitebait as a snack, paella and Greek gyros from stalls on the lawns.

An outstanding weekend in great surroundings. There is something for everyone, flying being just one part. Do visit the western lawn and see the men & woman of today’s services, you may well find a few veterans as well, do say thank you to them. The range of aircraft is amazing, from 2nd world war through to today.

Although we went on Sunday, and the weather was not kind, a big thumbs up for getting as many planes up as you could. Took some very happy little boys home who got the chance to go on the Chinook helicopter, which i must admit was quite special with the chance to speak one of the pilots who was happy to answer endless questions

Great weekend with loads of exciting planes,The Red Arrows are always the highlight of the show,Sunday was a poor show due to hill mist & light rain. Not faulting Airbourne,it’s the risk of any outdoor event.

We always have a fantastic day at Airbourne. The view is amazing, the aircraft are always top-notch, the commentator is hilarious and knowledgeable and the food and drink vendors are always great. We were however very surprised by the park and ride situation this year. We usually pay £10 to park the car, get a programme and get the bus to and from the pier. This year it was £10 to park and get a programme then another £10 for the bus (family of two adults, one 8 year old and a 13month old). We decided to walk along with EVERYONE else. I was told “oh the parking and the bus people have had a tiff” ridiculous rip off! We ALWAYS put money in the buckets going round the beach but this year people weren’t parting with their money due to the greediness of the parking and bus situation. Maybe next year they’ll rethink their “tiff” for the good of the air show.
