My wife and I visited the old restaurant twice last year, and we really looked forward to eating in the new premises. We were not disappointed - the food and service is second to none. We were greeted like regulars - Lia said she remembered us and what we had to eat! We made sure we got a booking for the last night of our holiday when our daughter and her partner came down, and we all enjoyed a lovely meal. All the staff are wonderful, and Lia gave us all a hug when we left. We can't wait for next year's holiday so we can eat here again. Keep it up - you're the best!

Have visited Eastbourne for many, many years for the Tennis and other visits. Without doubt best Italian Restaurant and is there any better restaurant? Wonderful family run, authentic Southern Italian food and Italian hospitality. First visit yet we were treated like regulars. Front of house in other restaurants take note, smile, pleased you have chosen our restaurant....
For all that, we eat out for the food, absolutely wonderful.Price...amazing for the food. So called 'Italian' restaurants, particularly chains, take note. No loud music, we eat out to talk with our friends and family, not fight the music! Background yes and in an Italian Restaurant, Italian music!. Number one on next visit for sure.

As a family we love great food. Eastbourne boasts numerous restaurants, both through eating in them and through my work - which means I see the kitchens!! I can safely state many of these are average. Unless it has a 5star hygiene rating I can assure you you'd not be impressed by a lot of them. As a result this has meant traveling further afield if we were to get a great meal served from a clean and well managed kitchen.
Having had the pleasure to both eat in and work for Anema e core I can say that this place has an immaculate kitchen, the fresh food deliveries are from local suppliers and is fresh daily from fish to vegetables. All the breads and doughs are made fresh onsite daily.
I've seen it all come and go and I like what I see very much.
Then comes the food, this is a family run business, such a lovely family, who care passionately about providing truly authentic Italian food. Forget everywhere else, this place is the real deal. Mum is the the boss in the kitchen, preparing pastas and other dishes with her husband. Daughter is front of house and daughters fiancé is the pizzaiolo. Each person within their role does their bit spot on, the best pastas etc and the best pizzas anywhere!
We no longer have to travel for a seriously good Italian meal.
It is a testament to their success and reputation that they are busy, you will probably need to book in advance and even then you may not get a table because... It is that good!! Don't be put off or put out.. It's worth it.
Thank you Anena e core for bringing something special to our town. Now don't change a thing or do go anywhere please..

Where to start??
The hospitality: is amazing esp. the way they go about with children. The food / pizza: is fresh, tasty and appetising. Wine: good choice.
The ambiance: inviting and modern. The garden - little Italy. Price: very affordable. Very good value for your money.
We've been here twice and will come again when in Eastbourne.

We went back in May, to the old Seaside venue, one random Thursday night and had a super meal, throughly enjoyed...
We decided to give the new venue in Bolton Rd a try a few weeks ago. We wondered if it would retain the same high standards, being that much bigger...Not only did the owners lovely daughter remember us from May, she remembered where we had sat, and what we ordered to eat!! I was astounded.
That's service. The new restaurant is wonderful and I hope it is a roaring success for them. From the reviews, I don't think they'll have any problems.
Will be back 100% and are telling our friends about this gem.

"Incredible" is perhaps the most appropriate term to describe this experience, an experience for which words alone are not enough. Everything starts from the welcome of the manager, delightfully kind and caring, who showed us to our table in what is a pleasantly elegant and comfortable environment. Every dish we ordered was absolutely excellent and highly-balanced in all its components, which carry with them the clear imprint of tradition, the Neapolitan; not to mention the pizza: the best I've ever eaten. Courteous and smiling service: no request was too much trouble for the staff. For each dish they made sure that everything was to our liking, with kindness and professionalism. In one word: perfect. I will definitely come back for a second dose of Anema e Core.

Working backwards, the price. On a Saturday night £212 for 5 people for starters, mains and 4 bottles of wine (2red 2 white both excellent).
You have to book to avoid disappointment. It's worth the effort.
This is very much great Italian family cooking. I asked 'Lia' (the owners daughter) to choose for me. Needless to say her father's home made Bruschetta and her Grandmothers Pasta recipes were exceptionally good.
Our dining companions down from London are of Italian descent and thought it was superb and great value for money. As for the service: everyone cares about the food and has an opinion.
Would I recommend Anema? Yes without hesitation.

Coming from London where the competion of Italian restaurants is fierce this is a breath of fresh air for Eastbourne ....at last something to enjoy if you like and understand Italian cuisine. Great menu , good wine list but above all the service headed by a wonderful girl Lia the daughter of the owner and chef of Anema e Core .
Not just a pizza which is one of the best I have ever had but also other Neapolitan specialties which I hope will be appreciated by the locals!

Our first visit to this restaurant for our Anniversary.
Wonderful welcome, and 12 red roses and a card from the staff on our table. What an amazing start!
Hugely friendly staff, and smiles all round.
Our meals were really excellent, and my Calzone was not only the largest I've EVER seen, but the tastiest too, even from those I've eaten in Italy itself.
I could not finish it, and was offered a doggy bag, which I declined, I'm still full nearly 20 hours later :)
Great value for money, no scrimping on ingredients or style.
I think we'll be going back here often.
Thank you so much for making our anniversary dinner a memorable one.

Unprepossessing appearance, but friendly restaurant providing excellent home cooked fare.
The outside tables were cool and shaded.
All the mains selected were superb, though range limited ( none the worse for this) the desserts good, and very decent value.

Having already left pomodoro e mozzarella due to very poor service we were delighted to receive lovely service and food here. We initially intended to go to Zizzi's but had a quick look at this menu and gave it a go. Pleased we did. Lovely food with seasonings, oils and vinegars given to every table without having to ask. Friendly staff and real Italian feel. We sat on the terrace area which was great on a warm evening, with tables not too close together. Overall really worth a visit.

This was a belated birthday celebration meal and my first visit to the restaurant. Despite the fact that there were three other large birthday celebrations underway, the service and attentiveness to our smaller group was excellent. The food was delicious (the seafood pasta was gorgeous ) although my friends pizza didn't look that appetising (☹️) A marvellous venue near the town centre with al fresco and indoor dining options. Definitely a place to revisit - if you can get a booking

Great service, didn't have to ask for tap water for the table and got a refill without asking. It was very busy even on a weekday, so make sure you book in advance.

Really nice pizza. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Our thanks to everyone at the restaurant for making our daughter Jessica's birthday celebration with family (16 of us) such a lovely occasion - with excellent food of course - on 18th August.
We were on holiday in Eastbourne and found the restaurant on TripAdvisor, but it exceeded all expectations. The table was decorated for the occasion (balloons), and all staff were so caring. When one or two of us couldn't remember what we were eating, or changed an item, there was no problem.
We had a range of dishes and all food was lovely and beautifully served.
If we are ever back in Eastbourne, I'm sure we'll be back again.
Thanks
H & M

We came across this restaurant when searching for 'dog friendly' places to eat whilst on holiday (they are very welcoming of little dogs). Six of us went with our little dog and we were all very impressed. The decor is lovely and spacious. 2 diners had the veal, one had steak, one had lasagne and 2 had different seafood pastas. Every single dish was wonderful....not one of us could fault anything and the staff were so friendly and made you feel as though you was the only ones dining there! We drank prosecco which was reasonably priced at less than £20 a bottle and the house red which, (not being a red wine drinker myself) I am told was really nice, at less that £14 a bottle.
Dog or no dog, I would recommend this place 100%
