Went to Birling Gap when the weather was 30+ it was very, very, busy. The views are very nice looking both ways to the right the Seven Sisters to the Left Beachy Head.
People will insist on climbing and clambering over walls and fences putting their lives and others who will have to rescue them. They will spoil it for others in the future.

You will not justify your trip in England South Coast without visiting these wonders and spend time appreciating the magical rock formation on site. The place is better to be visited by self drive (bus tour allows too short a time there) but here is the tips for those who are on budget and take public transport. Bus 12X from Eastbourne or Brighton serves these two locations well (see the pictures) as long as you are able to walk 30 minutes to reach the wonders from respective bus stops. The walk was not demanding but certain parts of the route have no proper pavement but path to Birling Gap.
Birling Gap is the must visited place as you can also see the Seven Sisters from there (see pictures). The only difference is, at the main Seven Sisters site you see from another perspective of the Seven Sisters or even under your toes if you prepare to climb up to the top of the cliff.

Without having to walk for miles to get up close to such magnificent sites this is a beautiful place to visit. A short walk from the car park is the viewing platform and stairs down to the shingle beach. There is also a gift shop and tea room/café.

Seven sisters and Beachy head are
always worth a visit. The views are fantastic and the museum and heritage centre are fascinating and incredibly interesting. The buses go from Brighton number 700 and from Eastbourne I believe every 10 minutes during the summer. One is never tired of seeing the fantastic cliffs.

Great café and facilities, the steps down to the beach are really useful. The NT needs support as there is a lot to do and to maintain, while the coast recedes incessantly eaten away by the waves.

Arrived here from wonderful Eastbourne via Beechy Head and onto the Birling Gap and Seven Sisters. What a walk, what scenery!

Stunning views of the coast line especially by boat if you manage to go out on a nice day with no high winds.

Billing Gal is a brilliant start point for a walk towards Beachy Head. Plenty of parking and a cafe on site. Interesting to see the cliff erosion and the terraced houses it has affected.

Lovely place to spend a few hours. Situated on main bus route between Brighton and Eastbourne. We were recommended this place by friends and it was well worth the extra few car miles.
Great place for a casual walk -or even a more strenuous one if you fancy a climb to the cliff tops. (Not for me at my age) but I sort of wish I had. Great view I’m told.
Visitor Centre on site with facilities and shop etc.
Good weather helps but not essential. Ice cream van with a Mr Whippy on hand (other ice creams available).
We’ll go back when we make it back that way.

I love this national park. Walking on the beach and then up to the top of the cliffs is hard work, but worth it for the views and the experience.

A visit to this location clearly shows how quickly the coastline here is quickly eroding.
The soft cliffs are falling and the small museum on site shows to adults and children what will happen to the this area in the near future.
We live in this area and always take any visitors here and they all enjoy it very much.
The views are good and if the tide is out you can stroll along the beach area - but keep away from the cliffs!!

I recently returned to Eastbourne for a visit and it was very disappointing apart from highlight drive through Birling Gap/seven sisters and East Dean, what a beautiful place never ceases to impress from a walk over beachy head past belle tout lighthouse down to Birling Gap. there is also the cuckmere valley that is well worth a visit for all nature lovers as you can stroll down the meandering estuary to the beach or walk through the surrounding national park.

The best place in Eastbourne to watch the sunset! We’ve had many a summer evening with a bbq and then a fire here waiting for the sun to set ☀️

Great venue. The National Trust cafe is great value and the shop is also worth a visit. Wear good shoes for the walk up to Belle Toute light house. Many steps down to the beach, but worth the time with a young family to explore the rock pools.

The beach is down a set of stairs from the visitor's centre and is very long with a mixture of stone and sand, and lovely views!
The visitor's centre is a big room with activities for all the family and there is a shop next door. The cafe next door to the centre does a full range of hot and cold meals and coffee.
Well work a visit!

A definite must if you love great walks, views and rock pooling. A lovely little gift shop and visitor centre on site near the carpark (free to national trust members)
There is also a dig friendly cafe

A beautiful cliff top walk. We decided to first walk to the coast guards cottages, then lovely cakes at the visitor centre before walking all the way to Beachy Head pub. Probably a little ambitious with children but we managed and had a great well deserved meal there at the end of our trek.

Anyone visiting England will want to visit England's white (chalk) cliffs on the southeast border with the Channel. Dover is understandably famous, but the experience at the Seven Sisters and at Beachy Head is arguably better. The reason...newer, and therefore whiter, exposed cliffs. Dover's cliffs have darkened some over the years, the consequence of exposure to the elements. The cliffs near Eastbourne have "calved" more recently and therefore have suffered less from such exposure. The other consequence of this is that the cliff edge is moving inward, something you can easily visualize in the National Trust visitor center where a timeline on the floor makes clear how soon the center itself will have to be moved (for a second time, I believe). Depending on your time and energy, the cliffs can be accessed by trail or road. Just don't get too close to the edge. At Birling Gap, there is a staircase to the cliff floor. The day we were there, it was closed. A German bomb from WWII had washed up, and that meant no one but bomb people could access the beach there. This happens more often than you might think because the German planes basically flew their bombing runs (and returns) directly over the area and often dropped any surplus bombs either on land or the sea on their way home to lighten the load. A good and small museum explains the cliff origins. Overall, a very good experience.

Always wanted to complete this walk as part of South Downs way from Alfriston to Eastbourne. A great walk . We counted 12 hills between Cuckmere Haven and Eastbourne so we assume it is just the first seven which are the sisters. Still amazes me that people still lean over the edge of the clifffs. Very very unwise.

Went there on a windy day but the experience was still unique. You can feel first-hand how raw nature is eroding parts of the land and the sheer beauty of the Seven Sisters leaves you breathless.

We visited Birling Gap at a cold and windy time of the year (March). On top of the cliffs there (there is a path from the pay parking area), the wind was so stiff we had to lean into it. That said, the views were beautiful. Most places to visit the famed white cliffs are somewhat view-restricted for viewing the chalk cliffs themselves (best seen from the Channel), but here, the land has eroded "cove-like" inward for a good distance, and you can see the Seven Sisters ( a series of cliffs to the west) from a good vantage point both at the park level and up on the cliffs. There is a viewing platform built on the cliffside at the parking lot level for good views, with a stairwell leading down to the rocky beach below. The chalk cliffs are is constantly eroding, and inside a museum there, they have painted lines on the floor where science has predicted the cliff edge will have have receded by certain years (not that far in the future). If you are energetic, you can hike along the cliff tops to Beachy Head, to the east (wait for a warmer time of the year, though).

Did the walk from Eastbourne to Birling Gap. Lovely walk especially if you take the cliff path as the views are stunning. Takes about 2 hours and is a really nice walk. Birling Gap was very very busy.
Definately recommend this walk

The erosion of the cliffs seems to be the main atraction these days.
Views of the Seven Sisters are not really visible, best off from the Cuckmere end.
National Trust Cafe a bit pricey.

A lovely place to spend a few hours. There is ample parking, a National Trust shop, café, toilets and safe access to the beach. Not ideal for small children, buggies or wheelchairs though. Stroll along the stony beach, or climb to the cliff top and take in the views; great photo opportunities here. You could bring a picnic or take advantage of the very excellent Café serving hot and cold drinks and snacks. The National Trust gift shop is well worth a look too.
