Definitely recommended if you are driving in your car, which is what we did. So convenient with little kids when hoping isn't really an option for you. The views couldn't be beat.

We drive another trip miles to beachy head for drinks and food and it didn't disappoint.

This beautiful stretch of chalk coastline should be much more celebrated than the White Cliffs of Dover. Lying adjacent to the stunning Cuckmere River meanders and river mouth contained within a lovely country park, The Seven Sisters are a walkers paradise. The southern branch of the South Downs Way follows the rolling cliffs all the way to Beachy Head and down to Eastbourne. The truly energetic can walk the complete circuit of The South Downs Way starting in the pretty village of Alfriston, following the Cuckmere down to The Seven Sisters, over to Beachy Head and then following the northern branch of the South Downs Way along the South Downs escarpment, through the pretty village of Jevington and back to Alfriston. A truly inspiring circuit of about 30 kms!

A nice place to either start a walk or stop off, lovely views, plus you can walk down the steep steps to the beach.

There is a cafe which is ok, plus some toilets, so an ideal place to refresh.

It does get quite busy, but people come and go all the time, well worth a trip before moving up to Beachy Head etc.

The visitor center is very interesting. Sadly the cliff is receding at a fast rate; there are photos of where it was in 1900 and a line where it is expected to be in the future. The NT volunteer/guide was very friendly and informative.

Great place to park up and start your walk along the seven sisters or just stop by for the views which are amazing. You can also go down the steps to the beach. This is national trust so free to park if you are a member. Reasonable cafe with great views. Good place to stop if you are walking past to use toilet facilities etc which are separate to the cafe. I would definitely go back here if I am in the area again.

Great pace to visit. Plenty of walks and great views. Hotel has good food and drink. Bus open top from Eastbourne goes here and saves you the parking charge and the bus runs to Beachy Head first and here and East Dean an back to Eastbourne every 30 minutes a great way o travel

My favourite place, it is the the magnificent Seven Sisters the white cliffs that make it. Very often when they want to depict the white cliffs of Dover (which are not that white) what you actually see is the Seven Sisters !. It is a symbol of England and means a lot to me.

This was just a lovely afternoons walk in warm autumn sunshine. Be prepared to go down lots of steps to get to beach but it’s not one flight there are landings.
Well worth a visit .

I’m a huge fan of the countryside and the coast.. but burping gap hasn’t really got anything to offer. It’s basically a car park on a cliff, you walk down some metal steps to a oversized pebble beach and not a lot to see :( there are toilets but the other facilities are pretty poor.

The Seven Sisters and Birling Gap cliffs are very impressive. You can also get a great view of the Seven Sisters from the South Hill Barn Car Park; it's a short walk east to get a great view.

We parked in Beachy Head Road, Eastbourne and walked the Seven Sisters up to Exceat (Seven Sisters Country Park) AND BACK! Fifteen miles or ups and downs with views to take your breath away!

Any walk along the Sisters is amazing. The Crowlink car park and Birling Gap are both National Trust - parking is free to members. Birling Gap has an amazing Cafe (NT) and the visitors centre is really interesting.

Try a day in this area - so much to see, so much to do - nature at its best.

If you are in the area don't miss this wonderful location with access to the beach and cliff tops. Car park, toilets and café by The National Trust. Members park for free. Safe steps down to the shore. Excellent views across the Channel and along the chalk cliff coastline. Easily reached from Eastbourne.

I walked from Exceat on the A259 (car park) to Eastbourne pier - total distance around 15km. A wonderful walk on a sunny day with spectacular sea views and stunning cliffs. Further car parks more or less on the walk are at Birling Gap and at Beachy Head. Away from the car park areas it is quiet but you are never on your own as it's a popular walk.

Fantastic place with stunning sea views. There are lots of ups and downs so be prepared for some steep climbs. Expect it to be very windy so be careful and stay away from the eroding cliff edge. For a superb circular walk start at the Seven Sisters Country Park in Exceat and go up the hill, down into Westdean and through Friston Forest, then across fields to near Birling Gap (toilets and café) where you can follow the Seven Sisters all the way back to Cuckmere Haven. The quiet secluded forest near the start makes an excellent contrast to the wide open spaces and bracing cliff tops on the second part of the walk.

Visited on a gloriously sunny day to do some painting and drawing. This place is stunning. Parking is quite expensive unless you are a member of the national trust.

Absolutely beautiful scenery.
We paid £1.50 to park for an hour. We met a lot of school children here sat in groups on the cliffs and beach. The views are stunning and the national trust teashop very good too!

This is one of the greatest landscapes I have ever seen. It was a pity the grass was brown instead of green, but that's just how it was everywhere this summer, I believe.

Loving my walk here starting from National trust site and in to the seven sisters towards Brighton! Coming from eastbourne its about 10 min drive... passing by helen garden turning right from the school and left to a zigzag road and hard left towards and the beachy head and on to the national trust site or Berling Gap!

We parked at the Seven Sisters Country Park parking area which costs £4 for the day. We walked to the beach which is a pebble beach. We then continued up to the Seven Sisters going up the down 7 times along the chalk cliff edges, of which one gets great views. The ground is generally regular and normal shoes are fine. The wind was fierce which added another dimension but this is often not the case.

At the end of the walk is Birling Gap where there is a cafe and a National Trust gift shop. The cafe is warm inside. They serve meals, Cornish pasties, ice creams, cakes, tea and coffee.
There is also a parking area here.
There are stairs that can take you down to walk on the beach. At the top of the stairs is a beautiful view of the white cliffs, up and down the coast.

We then walked via a path to Friston, along the road for a bit, then crossed the road and found a track in the trees parallel to the road. After following this track for sometime and using Apple maps we came to a track across a field to complete a circuit back to where our car was parked.

In total, with breaks for lunch and spending about 45 minutes at the Birling Gap cafe, it took us about 8 hours.
We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children, ages 3-7.

This is a great walk with rewards of beautiful cliffs bordering the coast and of surrounding grass lands. I would highly recommend this walk.
