Always a pleasure to be there. Such beautiful walks and stunning scenery. Don't pass up the opportunity to go if you're in the area. There is a cafe etc ip birling gap and the south downs on your doorstep .

Good free parking and just a short easy walk to the viewing area. You can walk down to the pebble beach. The cliffs are amazing

We got the open top bus trip from Eastbourne, you can hop on and hop off where and where the mood takes you. Birling Gap is owned by the National Trust. There is a cafe, NT shop and toilets inside the building and outside in the car park. There are steps taking you on a short walk down to the beach. There are picnic tables outside where you can relax with a coffee and people watch. Ideal to spend about a hour and a half, which would be plenty of time to take photo's, have a snack and chill for a while. If you go down to the beach or for a swim, you could easily double the time.

Even though this place gets very busy and the NT car park fills up completely there are plenty of other car parks and parking on the road. The pebble beach is a short walk down some stairs so easily accessible. Walks in both directions are fantastic.

I have always been dreaming of the Seven Sisters. Absolutely gorgeous and Must if you are travelling on the South Coast. You can easily walk around and have a swim at the nearby beach.

Good cafe and toilets and access to beach via steep steps. Large car park and visitor centre. Good for 30 mins unless you plan a walk.

I really enjoyed it. It was cool, but there was lot of people. I tried to swim in sea, but it was really cold

Arrived here about 10.30am to find it already fairly busy. Luckily the tide was well out so we were able to access the beach and get great views of the seven sisters in the distance. Walked up to Belle Tout lighthouse for more magnificent views. The walk is fairly reasonable going after the initial steep steps. The National Trust operates the site and has a nice cafe and visitor centre which gives information on erosion and old photo's dating back a century showing how much land has been lost.

View the Seven Sisters from Seaford Head. You can park along the prom for free and enjoy the walk over the top. Forget beachy Head with its coach loads

The Seven Sisters and Birling Gap is best approached from Seaford Head. Walk to the end of Seaford prom and make the steep climb up Seaford Head. Hark work, but worth it when you stop to take a breath and look back along the Seaford coast towards Brighton. Continue onwards towards Eastbourne. Take care along the cliff top as parts have eroded away into the sea. Eventually a beautiful sight will come into view. The Seven Sisters coast line. The white chalk cliffs rise and fall in seven mounds towards the Beachy Head lighthouse, just out of view, which can be seen close if you continue your walk over the Seven Sisters to Eastbourne.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Birling Gap which was on a spectacularly windy but hot day. Good parking - free for NT Members, excellent walk to the Lookout. Well worth a visit.

This was a surprisingly ‘wow’ place and is certainly up there with other great coastlines around the world. The walk from Birling Gap across the top to the lighthouse is a good one and well worth doing. If you are staying nearby, it is worth visiting at different times of day... it was lovely at sunset.

It is also worth walking along the shore at the base of the cliffs to gain that perspective (and away from the crowded bit at the bottom of the stairs - within a couple of hundred metres you'll have the place to yourself).

A wonderful place and well worth some time.

We visited last weekend with family who had not visited before. The views were stunning. The National Trust visitor centre was very interesting and the volunteer helper delighted us by telling us facts about erosion and the wildlife in the area. Thoroughly recommend the trip to visitors in the area.

This is a popular stopping point for visitors between Beachy Head and Seven Sisters. There are excellent food and drink choices with helpful staff to welcome visitors. The National Trust shop has many gifts to rummage through and an interesting area with historical information and exhibits much of which relating to RAF activities durin WW2. Well worth a visit.
There is a dress code for this cafe. "Please keep your clothes and shoes on".

An iconic location on the south coast of sussex, filled with amazing views and more than enough routes to keep you occupied on many a hike. Country pubs and cafes dotted about to refresh you too.

We come here often and walk the cliffs or visit the National Trust tea room, it is such a beautiful spot but can be super busy for parking in the hot summer months. The toilets at Birling Gap are always very messy and horrid unfortunately

Very much enjoy our trips to Birling Gap which has stunning views of the famous seven sisters (7 white cliffs in a row) there are also good walks to be had on the surrounding downland.
The site is owned and run by The National Trust and there is a small tea room and visitor centre. The car park is free to NT members.
The beach at Birling Gap can only be reached by descending a staircase of around 50 steps, so is difficult for families with babies and not possible for wheelchair users. But it is a great beach for fossil hunts and rock pooling when the tide is out.

An iconic place to visit with views to take your breath away ( literally if you’re there on a windy winters day!). One of the most stunning coastal locations in England. Don’t forget your camera. The NT shop and cafe are great and the walks are wonderful.

What a view and a lovely walk, between the impressive cliffs and the sea is an expanse of pebbles and rocks so not a beach as such. In certain parts there are small patches of sand, most were occupied. Up above a pub would have been nice, surprised that after a 150 years of tbis place becoming popular, the powers that be didnt consider investing a little to improve the facilities, the current facilities didnt encourage us and others to stay longer.

National Trust shop and cafe, members park free, but remember to scan card to get a ticket as they were checking constantly.. Small visitor centre with book stall. Iconic views to Seven Sisters from top of steps, or can go down to pebble beach. Parking seemed expensive if not a member. Take care on approach road as people park on verges to avoid parking costs.

Stairs leading down to the pebbles are at the end of the car park. You are also close there walking to the top of the cliff (hang on to the kids) get good views there also a nice bench to take the 7 sisters in the background.

A fine destination on a sunny day. National trust have a little cafe...within which you can find one the finest Cornish pasties outside of the Westcountry. An unlikely location. The sausage rolls don't scrub up bad either. Perfect lunch stop or to take away.

Yeah I did it! Went to Beachy Head and Birling Gap.

On arrival, there is parking charges unless you are a NT member plus toilets and cafe / gift shop. After some refreshments out came the walking boots and off I went to achieve my bucket list. There is a set of steps down to the pebble beach and I was certainly glad of my boots as walking on pebbles isn’t easy. To see the vastness of the Seven Sisters cliffs towering above you is something I’ll never forget and if I do then the photos I took will be there as well. I initially walked right to left and turned around and went in search of the rock pools that I found where a son & his dad were looking for crabs. I found a small ledge to sit on and take more photos.
Plenty of people were sunbathing or swimming but it did look inviting but I was on a tight schedule
Thoroughly recommend coming here and take a walk - you won’t regret it.
