A beautiful natural beach with stunning views. Deceptive you believe it is a country walk and then suddenly you are on the beach.

Had a great walk along to Burlington Gap with friends.
Lovely views and great weather, beautiful scenery.
If you are going wear suitable shoes as some I saw did not.

We took the hop-on-hop-off bus from the town centre and back again. The views of the cliffs are amazing and there is a long set of steps down to the beach, which is all pebbles. Good view of the 4 houses near the cliff: there were 7 but, because of the erosion of the cliffs, they've had to demolish 3.

There is a very pleasant café where we had tea and coffee but did not eat anything: too full after a enormous Full English breakfast we had at the B&B!

Well worth a trip but I personally wouldn't walk it from the town as it is too far for me.

Started in Seaford in Eastbourne. Classic walk over the wonderful chalk cliffs including the seven sisters and beachy head. Walked on a hot day quite a rigorous walk but with outstanding views and a definite sense of history. We saved a couple of miles by wading across the river cuckmear on cuckmear haven beach, if the tide is right saves a mile or two. In total walked 14 miles but can be adjusted to your needs. One for the bucket list!

If you are in Eastbourne you must visit Birling Gap...for a tea/coffee in the cafe....on the Cliff-edge. Amazing views

It was a lovely afternoon we walked along the beach, also went to cafe plus museum. It was with my parents and daughter. I was tempted to go for a paddle or even a swim!

The cliff walk has wonderful views and the access to the beach is via metal steps. The beach is rocky and not too easy to walk along. Being at the bottom of the white cliffs and the pure vertical of 100s of feet is fantastic. The cliffs are just sheer vertical walls. A must do if you are in the area. Note that parking area is a bit small. Great gift shop, simple food and toilets at the car park

I am from Eastbourne so I spend a lot of time here I never tire of the beauty of it. Along with the national trust it’s now in good hands

Museum and cafe were great. Toilets available for long distance walkers. Lines depicting projected coastal erosion were informative.

A visit to this location can be informative and interesting - the National Trust building has some interesting artefacts, information and a good cafe. The beach has very little sand as mainly small rocks, which is difficult to walk on. The cliffs are amazing but its worth heeding the warnings about rock falls. If you visit here then the Bell Tout lighthouse is a good place to walk the top of the cliffs to.

Anyone visiting the area must go to Birling gap, the views off the seven sisters are remarkable. There is very good steps down to the beach also the National Trust cafe is a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea and admire the views. Cafe is also dog friendly.
The car park is free to N/T members £4 for non members and does get very busy. There are toilets in cafe also in car park.

Once upon a time, coming here was a real treat. You have stunning views. You have access to the beach. You have the hills and cliffs of Beachy Head and the South Downs. What's not to like?

Well, once upon a time, there was a lovely traditional pub where you could get a decent meal and drink to round the day off. Or you could go down there in the evening and sit by the fire with a drink. Now there's a mediocre cafe and a National Trust Visitor Centre that's frankly dull and uninspiring

Parking is plentiful and there are loos and facilities like that....just no pub

We drove down from Brighton for the afternoon as were so glad we did. Stopped for a look around Lewes on the way, and then past the Long Man (wish we had budgeted time for the pub Giant's Rest, which we spotted en route and looked lovely). Arrived at Birling Gap in the mid afternoon. The scenery is just stunning; even though we didn't have the time or energy for the walk along the top, just hanging out at the beach was well worth the drive.

As we've come to expect, anywhere with something worth seeing will hit you in the pocket to park the car, even for just a quick look. This was worth it on a sunny (but windy) day.

One of my favourite places in the area to visit. Breathtaking views and an interesting visitor centre with a lovely sheltered picnic area behind. Plenty of lovely walking paths to follow. Pay and display parking but if you are a National Trust member, parking is free. The cliffs are eroding constantly and suddenly, please be aware of this and stay away from the edge when you visit.

Having left Beachy Head, Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is just minutes away. It doesn't disappoint - the wow-feeling continues.
Beautiful views from the cliffs and the beach. Take the warnings of not going too close to the edge seriously...accidents have happened. If there's a warning, there's a reason.

It was a foggy day in Eastbourne but that doesn’t stopped us from doing the tourist bus ride around the scenery route. Saw the seven sisters photo in the guests house we were staying on a summer day but I said I would like to see and enjoy the wonderful view. The sea mist did not disappoint and stop us but it made the view a lot more dramatic. Pebble beach but still a lovely place to have picnic with the family on a nice summer sunny day and enjoy the coastline and the view of the chalk mountain. Well recommended to see and visit just be careful on the edges of the mountain

I’m visiting from the U.S. and we had an overnight trip to Eastbourne with my sister and her family. Our first stop was the Seven Sisters Country Park situated in the South Downs National Park. There’s a large parking lot and a visitors center with restrooms. You can pick up a pamphlet with a map and see a large topographical map of the area inside the center.

We chose to take the Beach Trail which follows the valley floor down to the beach and the mouth of the River Cuckmere (about 2 km one way). But there are several other options as well. Once we got to the beach, the children took their shoes and socks off and waded into the water to play with their papa. Meanwhile my sister and I set up a blanket and sat down for a long chat while taking in the beautiful views of the cliffs. After awhile we took a walk over for a closer view of the Seven Sisters cliffs and the children took the trail to the top.

I strongly advise that you adhere to the footpaths and the posted signs and DO NOT walk to the very edge of the cliffs. The chalk cliffs are unstable and there have been several deaths of tourists.

My wife and I were on holiday in Eastbourne and wanted to see this area so after visiting Beachy Head on the coast road from Eastbourne we drove a little further and came across this gem.
Managed to get a space in the car park and as NT members parking was free (non members pay) and went to the NT tearoom where after having excellent scones and drinks my wife stayed on the viewing platform just outside, which also give stair access to the beach, whilst I climbed the short walk to the cliff from the car park to admire the view. Well worthy the effort as it gives you a different perspective than looking from ground or beach level.
Well worth a visit and well done to all the NT volunteers who keep the place in such good order.

We were able to walk on the shore line and look up at the cliffs. This was stunning! We also stopped by the information center and they were super helpful providing directions for us.

You can't fail but to be impressed by the Seven Sisters. Even though the weather wasn't brilliant, standing at the base of these cliffs (not too close though!) was breathtaking - the white chalk with flints running through almost like stitches were wonderful.

Very impressive view from the beach. Lovely place. To get to the beach you can use stairs nearby the Beachy Head Countryside & Visitor Centre. Parking space is available as well.

It was a nice sunny bank holiday walk. Although there were many people out walking, - in both directions, it did not detract from our enjoyment. We walked from Eastbourne to Seaford - more gentle ups and steep downs, than doing it the other way around! Birling Gap provided a welcome ice cream en route. The whole day was great, picnicking high on the cliffs, looking out to see and inland across the South Downs

The pub, the sea front, shops displaying interesting souvenirs and the restaurant added to the colour of the place.
