This was our 2nd visit, this year we walked from Eastbourne, just over 12 mile round trip. There are a few steep climbs but the majority is easy going. Superb views all the way.

Lovely place to visit. Gorgeous views and lovely coffee shop with plenty of outside seating to enjoy the views. Drive up and have coffee and admire the views or walk up depending on how energetic you are. Lovely gift shop to browse round. Can get very busy and crowded at weekends.

We went here recently whilst visiting a friend on Holiday, we had a nice walk on the Beach and enjoyed finding the pebbles with Holes in. We joined the National trust whilst we were there and thought the café shop and visitors centre met the needs of the location.

We walked all along the front and along cliff edge, stopped at the national trust shop which we are members, had a lovely coffee and continued along

The views over the English Channel are great from here, and they've even gone to the trouble of building a viewing platform to allow an even better view of the white cliffs. There is a small cafe near the platform if you fancy some food and a cuppa. Be aware, the parking facilities are a nightmare at peak times, especially given that the large type of continental coaches share the same space. Having said that, it's a great place to visit.

walk and job here often - beautiful open space - sometimes there can be coach loads of tourists but often it's pretty tranquil - that is as long as the weather is good!

Just one of my favourite places on the East Sussex coast whether it be on a lovely sunny day or when a gale is blowing and the sea is crashing against the cliffs .The
beach is accessible via steps down the cliff to the beach.
You must visit the National Trust Cafe for a cup of coffee and cake or soup in the winter .You can get a full main meal if you need it. The Nationa .Trust shop and Gallery are attached very useful for gift buying or browsing a local artist's show.Lots of gorgeous walks along the cliffs or inland into the Downs .

Though the weather wasn't good, i can still see the seven sisters cliff from afar! From Birling Gap, you can walk down the stairs to the rocky beach and walk away the shores to feel fierceness of the ocean! You can even walk closer to the seven sisters cliff! I may come again in a better weather! From there, you can walked towards beachy head! It is really a nice walk with great view of the sea!

We took a friend to see Birling Gap today, sadly weather had gone from sunny to cloudy and windy but the cliffs look stunning. There were workmen shoring up the 3 houses that are a mere few feet away from the cliff edge (others have already been lost). My friend said she enjoyed her sight seeing trip to Eastbourne, just a shame that the road to Beachy Head was closed!

Walked here from East Dene over tge South Downs. Steep flight of stairs down to the beach. Water clean enough to swim. There's a cafe at the top and toilet facilities.

Be sure to wear walking boots or trainers if going down to the sea as pebble beach difficult to walk on. Gives your legs a good work out!! The cafe is ok for a snack but nothing special.

It is interesting to see the displays of the encroaching sea damage. The beach (pebbles) is nice and there is a very nice cafe and a good shop with nice gifts.

Good restaurant with a good shop. Food a bit limited but good for a snack. Reasonably priced. Great views. Well worth a visit.

Stunning views, excellent walks, Nature at it's very best. Parking can be a little difficult at times though due to the popularity of the area

Loved this place, people were sunbathing on the beach below. there is a café, small gift shop and toilets. We got the open top double decker bus to get here but there was plenty of parking.

I come here quite often although it can be madly busy. On a good day, like my most recent visit I was able to soak up the sun on a bench and watch a cormorant preening itself whilst apparently keeping one eye on the water. It is a fabulous place to park up and then stride out on a hearty walk with some incredible views. Especially if you need to walk off a cream tea ( yes guilty as charged ). Being a member of the National Trust also has it's benefits as there is no need to pay to park the car which is handy. All in all an easy place to get to from nearby Eastbourne and worth the trip.

The road between Birling gap and Beachy Head was closed when we visited although you can still drive to both. Fantastic views of the Seven Sisters from the viewing platform above the beach, if you are fit enough walking up the hill towards the lighthouse offers amazing views. There is a lovely café opposite the car park

Ended our walk of the seven sisters here and it is definitely a worthy destination the café has a stunning array of cakes and refreshments. The shortbread cake with cherries is well worth looking out for...

Having researched this place before we went, I knew we were going to find it interesting. The car park was busy and there is an overflow carpark, and more in the field opposite. Toilets are available, an ice cream man in the car park, plus the café with a sea view. The NT shop was stocked with the usual things and there was a side room telling you about the area and a small art exhibition by (I presume) local artists. A very helpful lady showed us a video explaining recent cliff falls and why they have happened. We went out onto the lookout point above the stairs which descended to the beach and took some photos of the cliffs. I was amazed at how busy the beach was, and how many people were sitting at the base of the cliffs. Parking is pay and display unless you have a Blue Badge but there is no extra charge for anything else.

Ver lucky to have visited on a day with clear blue cloudless sky. Made the white cliffs dazzling and the sea looked superb.
This is eroding quickly and it must be visited before the area disappears.
The most awesome view.

It's small wonder this is a popular destination for coach parties because on the right, warm, sunny day, there is much to please. The views to the west take in the Seven Sisters, while those to the east look toward Belle Tout lighthouse. Those with enough energy to do the strenuous climb get another cracking view of Beachy Head lighthouse from the other side of the Belle Tout lighthouse. The visitor Centre is well worth seeing and I didn't begrudge NT prices for Peppermint Tea and sandwiches because I had such a great view. The only worry here is that the sea is eating the site away and I presume that is the driver for archaeological digs on the cliff top. Do take care if you go down to the beach - be safe and stay well away from the cliff face. NB the beach is accessed by a steel stairway and would not be suitable for those with difficulties mobilising.

I love this beach in all weathers, on a sunny day it is a pleasure but for me it's
Best when you have to force the car door open to get out and the wind nearly blows you away.
This is a place where you can truly enjoy the force of Mother Nature and marvel at how beautiful the coast line of England is.

I love going to Burling Gap, but the car park can be far to crowed end. Leave your car further up near the Belle Tout lighthouse and then walk there enjoying the views on the way. On arrival there are plenty of toilets which is always good and then the choice is yours.
Possibly have lunch in the National Trust cafe. Plenty of good sandwiches, and always a really lovely homemade soup with a hunk of bread.
The shop behind the cafe is always worth browsing around followed by a stroll around the museum. It is based on the sea and cliffs in the area and is fascinating.
Once refreshed I always recommend a walk on the beach. You access the beach by climbing down a set of metal steps. The views from there of the Severn Sisters is definitely worth some photo's.

Lovely place to stop for something to eat or just to have a coffee. The Cafe Sits right on the edge of the cliff which makes it a special place to visit.

It was unusual we thought seeing big white boulders as opposed to the more normal rocks we feel we usually see on beaches, great to walk among the rocks and on the pebbles, made a little more eerie given its history, and to think how much has changed here due to Mother Nature.
It was calm on the day we visited and not many people about, so it felt more romantic and yet wild. You'd best go quick cos I don't know how much longer it will look the way it does now, it's strange to think that we're seeing things that were buried from our ancestors, but that we can't se things they saw or some of the things they built as certain of the coastguard houses have fallen into the sea or been knocked down to save any danger.
