I had not been in this pub for decades but a friend raved about the food so popped in for lunch. The decor is pleasant and it was beautifully peaceful - none of the discordant 'music' usually to be found in most establishments! The board menu was very extensive and surprisingly reasonable and we never even looked at the printed menu. We chose turkey, lek and ham pie which came with seven lovely varieties of vegetable and was piping hot. Really yummy. Went in again yesterday for the crispy belly pork and another winner. Highly recommended

Nice cosy "little" bar on the seaside of Eastbourne. Lots of places to seat down and entertainment such as a billiard room and private parties upstairs. Nice tv screen to watch football matches with friends around a beer.

The Crown and Anchor is a pub, and the décor and atmosphere is what one might expect. However, don't be fooled ... the food is great and better than one would expect. The beer battered cod and chips seemed to be very popular and very reasonably priced. All the food we saw was well cooked, well presented with very reasonable prices. We were here just a couple of weeks ago, and liked it so much we were back again. If you're visiting in the evening, do however, check what's on because Live Singing and TV Sport are advertised.

Very tasty lunches indeed, only problem being the portion sizes way to big for both of us, as my other half stated one between us would have been enough!! I've eaten there about 6 times now and have always been impressed by the quality of ingredients, the size of the portions and the range of specials on the menu. Not being too fussed where I ended up I ended up here - very glad that I did. Drinks are 'normal price' but the WOW is the food. So very glad I came out to eat this evening, had Ribeye and it was fantastic - an honest hats off to the Chef. Best meal I've had for a long time including ones above 'sensible' prices.Really impressed guys with everything apart from the waitress who looks depressed yet should be smiling as she presents your amazing food.

Went to Eastbourne for a 3day break, stayed at a very good hotel but had not booked any meals there. Our first night we thought we would try the food atThe Crown and Anchor just across from where we was staying, we both decided on chicken curry, all the trimmings came out with our meal, dips etc. looked lovely, my husband really enjoyed his, I personally did not like it, nothing wrong with it just the wrong choice for me. We went back the next night, my husband had fish and chips, he enjoyed his, I had crispy belly draft with fresh vegetables, a very good selection of veg, absolutely wonderful meal, rather a large meal and much to my disappointment I was not able to finish it all, but we would highly recommend The Crown and Anchor. Staff friendly, nice atmosphere in a small local pub. Good value for good food.
