Was great to take my little daughter here as I used to visit when I was a kid. Not a lot has changed, in away (which is a good thing), though the play areas and rides are bit more advanced. There's plenty to do and we had a good day. The animals seem well looked after and there's a good variety of play areas.

The entry price is high, compared to similar attractions elsewhere in the UK (e.g. Crealy Park), but I think this would be OK if it wasn't for charging extra for little things like a sandpit. Now I know Drusillas will come back with a comment along the lines of " there is more than enough to do without the need to pay for extras" - but you try telling a two year old she can't go in the sandpit, which is highly visible next to the main picnic/lunch area!

I have driven past this attraction on many occasions and thought it wad a glorified petting zoo. However todays visit exceeded.my expectations. The zoo had plenty to see and do and there was a good variety of animals and experiences for the young and hmm hmm older kids. Park was clean and well laid out. Lots too see and interactive things to do.

Plenty for the kids to do here, it is educational for the kids aswell, learning about the animals, play areas, a splash zone in the summer, a little train around the park. A great day out for the family.

My wife bought me a Zoo keeper for a day as my birthday present and I have to say I loved every second of the day I got to meet so many different animals and got to hold & greet nearly all of them ( thankfully not the spiders :)

The keeper Jemma was fantastic! She was welcoming, funny & had a wealth of knowledge about all the animals I learn so much.

I was like a kid in a candy shop going from one experience to the next, I loved it and I didn't want the day to end.

If your thinking about being a keeper for the day, DO IT! It's a great day & a great Zoo.

Tickets were a littler expensive but then as doting grandparents we wanted to treat the bairns and on the whole this was a well laid out and mostly animal friendly space with the added bonus of plenty of child friendly rides and play areas at the end of the zoo route. Staff were well drilled and helpful and the animals seemed well cared for, although I was concerned to see the owls and other birds in such small enclosures. The children were well entertained with stamping stations to maintain their interest. My only gripe was the rather dry and tired looking burger served in the name of a kids meal. In fact even our ever hungry grandson could only eat half of it. Contrast this with the three courser you can get at Pizza Express for children for the same price! Maybe they need to ask Gordon or alternatively offer McDonalds a franchise.Oh one other gripe was the extra charges for the inflatable slide and related activities. Seemed a bit mean given the seventy odd pounds we paid for the two young uns, one senior and one adult. In summary I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and would recommend it for families with young children but as my daughter remarked it's probably best to take a picnic.

My niece turned 4 recently and we had her for the day so we decided to go to Drucillas. She absolutely loved it!
We've never been either and we loved it!
There are so many different animals to see and the kids can stamp a little book when they see an animal
We went on a Monday which I would recommend as I think it would be really busy on a weekend or school holidays.
Lovely picnic area and great climbing frames/slides for the children to play on

Yesterday I visited Drusilla's with my parents, sister and nieces/nephew for one of my nieces 6th birthday celebrations. What a difference 25 years make! I can remember going as a child and it was just a small zoo then - now it's got a train ride, a huge playground area for the kids, restaurants, cafe's...the works!

I've read a couple of comments about 'how expensive it is'. Well yeah, a day out in a place like this isn't going to be cheap. However, we took full advantage of Tesco Clubcard boost days out vouchers and got in for nothing!

If you were to book online as a family of 4 for example, during peak times it would work out at £16 each - I don't think that's bad at all considering the wide variety of attractions on offer, the fact the zoo has to care for all the animals, pay their staff, maintain the exhibits etc.

Food/drink inside the zoo (like any place such as this) is always going to be more expensive than if you brought the equivalent on the high street. However, given what they could have charged for some things, again I personally don't believe it was eye-watering expensive.

In all, this is a great day out. Definitely something to do on a nice weather day like we had yesterday! The staff are friendly, there's plenty to do for the kids, more than enough to fill a 7 hour day out!

Highly recommended

Visited during term time with a 9 month and 3.5 year old (plus two mums and one granny), everyone had a great day out. Lots and lots to see and do, we were there just over four hours (though if it had been sunnier/warmer we probably would have stayed a couple more hours enjoying the play areas).

Lucky as park was empty that meant hardly any queues or crowds (may have had a different experience at weekend/school holidays). The lemurs in particular were a highlight.

We ate in one of the cafes which was reasonable (price and quality) but would probably take our own picnic next time.

I'd never heard of Drusilla's even though it's only just over an hour away from where we live. Someone recommended it & I found out I could use my tesco points for tickets so thought we'd give it a go.

We were really impressed, I've got a 2 year old boy and there was loads for him to do. The zoo part took up the morning, we had a picnic & then spent the afternoon in the park, soft play, going on the safari train, the maze and a going on a few Hello Kitty rides.

The park was really up together and they were making improvements (more rides coming soon). We all had great fun & we will definitely go back again.

Me and my partner took our daughter to drusillas Park the other day.. Couldn't believe how big the actual park was and how many animals we saw.. Plus there are lots of restaurants and gift shops and also a huge outside adventure water park and tree house park.. Definitely recommend to young families and couples..

Good day out for us, combining a zoo and adventure park, animals seemed happy and looked after. Car park was quite full, we parked on a grass field that was half full, but the park itself didn't seem overly busy, which was nice.

I have to say that the price almost put us off going here, 2 adults, a 6 year old and a 2 year old cost us £76 but we are so glad we ventured across from Winchelsea where we were staying to Drusillas.

What a lovely, well kept zoo, spotlessly clean and a huge selection of animals. We had a lot of fun here with the kids and they absolutely loved it. Not only was it brilliant seeing such a variety of animals but the kids playgrounds were the best I've seen anywhere in a long time.

If you can afford the entry charge this is a must when with kids on holiday - we were lucky to get a nice day so we spent hours here and the kids were in tears when we told them we had to leave, they wanted to return the next day!

A great place to go.

Me and my husband took our two grandchildren ages 2 and 4. They enjoyed themselves but were too young to take full advantage of everything and part of the small children's play area was closed for maintenance. And at £76 for the four of us it was not good value and way above our budget for a day out. I still can't believe two year olds are charged the full rate.

Didn't have much expectations but what we did experience was a nice family day in a clean well presented zoo. The walk through is enjoyable, nice enclosures with a vast array of different species. Some of which I haven't seen in zoos around the U.K. The play areas are nice, it's very well kept and enjoyable for younger ones. The only down sides I'd say is it doesn't take too long before you're at the end and the food selection isn't that great. Very basic foods in the restaurant all pretty bland and cheap looking on the hot counter. But that's the only down sides, our daughter had a penguin experience which was well presented. The lady keeper was very knowledgeable and great with kids, she interacted well and kept our daughter enthralled.

This is a must my dad recommended we go as he took me there 30 years ago. This was excellent the animals were well looked after and It was catered for toddlers with questions and tasks to keep the informed and amused.

The cafe had a wide range of food and the playground was epic! Areas for all ages and my 19 month was in his element with the trampoline and swings.

There is a great maze, a train and rides (tea cups and cars) and the day was fantastic from the moment we walked in.

Best recommendation we ever received!

This is one place we just love as a family! it just never gets boring...From the moment you arrive you will love it. I love the way the car park is laid out and someone directing you were to park on those busy days and the easy path to follow to get to the ticket office. I always find the Team incredibly friendly which is a bonus.

This time I visited with a family friend and their child who had never been. When we arrived as it was opening it was busy, just as you would expect however if you whizz around first then go back to the beginning again you can take a much more leisurely stroll. I am a big animal lover and I find the enclosures very good for the animals that all look very healthy and happy.

We love all the marmosets and the squirrel monkeys and watching them move from enclosure to enclosure via lots of tunnels. The thing I love about Drusilla's is it is so clean and tidy with so much to do! Lots of amazing animals including a new Giant Ant Eater which by the way is huge! a must see! They have really thought about everything there is a great big playing area for the children which is brilliant and loads of places to sit and watch your children having a great time.

Whilst we were there we noticed a very exciting new area about to open so we can't wait to get back and see the new Safari area.

As a Father I cannot fault Drusilla's a great safe & secure environment to take the children and family. WE LOVE IT! From Hello Kitty Land to the Play Areas and Animals it really is a fantastic day out for the family.

I have been here many times with my wife and son and grandparents and still enjoy this although I am not a great fan of animals in enclosures but I also know that this needs to be done for research to save these animals. The new major animal is the ant eater which for something that only eats ants it's big. They have spent a lot on updating the enclosures and all new section opening in May (view web site). Food not the cheapest but nice and as long as most the profits going on bettering the saving of animals etc that would be great. The train has changed to Safari train from Thomas but still good. Will be going back soon

The zoo was great! Staff were friendly at the gate and when we ordered food in the cafe staff were really friendly as well. The zoo was bigger than I originally thought it would be. There was a loads of different areas to explore and a lot of animals to see. There are a lot of activities for kids to get involved in and as well as it being nice to have a look at the animals it's also educational. I would definitely recommend going to Drusillas for a fun filled day out!

I recently bought a 'Tarantula Encounter' experience voucher from the Virgin Experience Day website. I had wanted to overcome my phobia of spiders. It was worth the money and it was an experience I will never forget.
Angela, the spider keeper, was able to coach me step by step. She is incredibly knowledgeable about spiders and she reassured me through the steps to overcoming my phobia. Her reassurance was what I needed to overcome this phobia.
Within 20 minutes I was able to hold a house spider. At first when I saw the house spider all I wanted to do was run a mile. However, as I held the house spider I soon realised that there was nothing to feae anymore.
When it came to holding the tarantula I felt a lot more settled. The tarantula was very well looked after and very beautiful. I never thought I could use the word 'cute' to describe a tarantula but I did after this experience. It is fair to say I am fascinated by spiders now and I cannot thank Angela enough for helping me overcome my spider phobia. She is a treasure to the zoo.
Anyone who is afraid to spiders this is the experience you need to do. I guarantee you will feel so proud of yourself afterwards.
As for the zoo, it is a great place to visit. I was especially impressed with the Meerkat enclosure.
