My son was a zoo keeper for his 6th birthday. As he is also an annual member this made the cost of the experience £117 for a 6 hour experience, including lunch and a jumper and was really reasonably priced.

Our Keeper Eva, was very friendly and knew about all the animals and was able to answer all our questions. She was great with my son and really encouraged him.

I thought the day was amazing and the look in his face told me it's a day he will never forgot. Would recommend to any child or adult who loves animals

We had a day visit there and it was a good one that lasted just long enough for us and the grandchildren, but book on line, not only for the discount but to get in easier through the ticket queue.
Well thought out as you follow the footprints and are channeled around so to see everything and collect stamps in your book as you travel far a certificate at the end, something to remember the visit for.
The animals are good as is their enclosures to view them. Plenty of activities for the younger children to play on.
2 good places to dine and as always with a captive audience a bit more expensive than you would want to pay but nevertheless still tasty.

A truly wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience for a very happy nine-year-old (and his equally happy parents). The range of animals we had close contact with was astounding and the one-on-one attention from the keeper was perfectly judged. Very much recommended for all animal crazy kids and their parents.

|My wife and I gave the Zoo Keeper for the Day Experience (Bronze) to our 10 year old daughter. The day starts at 10 and finishes at around 15.30 with an hour break for lunch.
I will start by saying that our daughter loved the day, as did we. One parent is allowed to stay with the child and Keeper at a time, but we were allowed to swap round so that both my wife and I were able to experience the day with our daughter. The day included clearing out the meerkat bedroom and then feeding them, feeding the penguins, lemurs and capybaras (as well as mucking out the latter), handling snakes, meerkat and lizards (and lots more as well). We all learnt a lot from our keeper (Eva) who was incredibly knowledgeable and had a lovely way of conveying this knowledge to our daughter. She is a credit to Drusillas.
During our lunch break had a tasty, reasonably priced lunch of fish and chips in the Explorer cafe. We went on Monday 9th of January and practically had the park to ourselves, which made the experience seem that little bit more special as well. The day was cold and rainy in the afternoon, but dress appropriately and this will not spoil the day.
My daughter hasn't stopped wearing her Keeper for the Day sweatshirt (that is included in the experience) and this day has really fueled her interest even more in working with animals when she is older. We may book our two other daughters in to this experience for their birthdays too.
All in all, a great mix of work, learning from lovely staff and fun.

A great visitor experience with a great variety of animals and activities. The Christmas light show was a great bonus - my baby loved it! Will definitely come again.

Took my children here over Christmas with the help of some Tesco day out vouchers.

The overall value of the tickets was great with Tesco vouchers - but I'm not sure I'd pay to go without those.

The kids enjoyed seeing all of the animals, and there were a great selection. They particularly loved feeding the love birds nectar, and there were lots of interactive activities for them around the zoo. The play area is massive and the Thomas train and rides kept them amused - although two rides were out of action. Was a little miserable because it was freezing and raining, but he food was reasonably priced for a theme park.

Would go again if I got Tesco tickets for it!

There is plenty to see and do see for the little ones. The children enjoyed spotting the animals and stamping their books, most were difficult to find because it was so cold it was hunt the animal! We went before Christmas for the light show, we wouldn't bother another year it was like a bad day at BHS. Santa was underwhelming everyone had the same toy and I think £11 a visit was expensive, the queues were ridiculous so when we asked for our money back there was not a problem. If we go again it would be in the summer so we could take advantage of all the activities and I would take a picnic, as you would expect all the concessions were not cheap for the captive audience. £80 for 4 adults and one 3 year old for what received I didn't this was good value for money. This price was booked on line with discount not sure I would do that again because I would say its weather dependent and you cant get a refund if you book online. Definitely a summer activity. Perhaps out of term time if you have little ones.

We had a great day here with our friends 3 seven year olds as a treat for them.
The zoo part was lovely & the girls loved stamping their books when they had seen every animal & also taking part in the zoolympics (the bars being their favourite as all keen gymnasts!)

We were then getting a little cold so we went for an early lunch in the restaurant. I totally disagree with the person who said there was no healthy food!! I had the most beautiful salad & jacket potato. The girls had lasagne or chicken nuggets. For 2 adult meals & 3 kids meals including drinks was about £25 which for the quality was brilliant. We did pay extra for the slushy cups but haven't included those in the total as they are optional!

We then went on the hello kitty cars & tea cups & then on Thomas.

We finished off with a lovely play in the playground with something for everyone! 2 of the girls are more daring than the third & they loved the zip wire! Whilst the third loved all the slides.

All in all a lovely day. Reason for not 5 stars: on the day we went East Sussex schools had gone back so it was an off peak day, but lots of other local areas were still on holidays. Although it wasn't largely busy I did feel the rides could have been open more. 1 poor member of staff had to rotate between each of the rides as well as being the driver for Thomas! And the salon / beauty parlour was closed. Perhaps it would be wise to check holidays in other areas to know how busy you could be.

Such an amazing place to take young children to have fun and learn about so many wonderful animals!
It's designed so well with young children in mind no high up hard to see enclosures.
My 2 year old LOVED IT here!! So many attractions as well as the zoo. (Not all open at off peak times so check before you go)!
Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Lots of animals to see for a small zoo, all clearly very well cared for and enclosures looked extremely well maintained and species appropriate. If you have young children (or even if you don't :-P) you have to go here!

We decided to take our 3 children of 2,4,8 years olds, my sister in law and parents (8 total) to the park for a birthday treat. The park is small in comparison with the likes of Peppa pig world with only three hello kitty rides all of which were operating on a reduced service. That said this wasn't an issue as the footfall was minimal so no queuing. Once we'd finished the rides we visited the cafe for lunch which was really quite good for a theme park come zoo. The soup was homemade and the bread rolls still warm, all very tasty. We then set off on the zoo route which was excellent with a wide variety of small animals to keep the children engaged and entertained. The children's play area has a variety of novel play activities and something soft for them to fall into. We finished with a visit to the gift shop which was closed, you have to ask a member of staff to open it for you which she did but somewhat reluctantly which was annoying. All in all a good day out with lots to see and do for the younger children.

I'd been here over 20 years ago as a child and having one of my own we thought we'd treat them to a day out with a friend here. I have very impressed with the park. The animals kept out 1 year old amused as did all the play area's rides and attractions. The Zoo parts are better than other big name attractions!

We thought it was a bit pricey to get two adults in but then when you look at the fact you can easily fill a day out and for what is on offer it was well worth it.

The food outlets were pricey for what they are but no different to the cost at other attractions of similar nature.

Why didn't I rate it Excellent... very simply the prices. Would definitely recommend to any family wanting a great day out. We went on a cold Bank Holiday and it wasn't that busy, I would image pick a nice day in the school holidays and it would be ram packed!

We are regular visitors for over 8 years. We usually spent 4 hours there. My kids are 10,8,3 and 1 years old and all of them find something to enjoy there. As you imagine finding a place for all of them to have fun is important for me (and not easy) and this is one of the places where all of them enjoy themselves.
