This is a small zoo/children's park but everyone can enjoy it. It's a bit pricey to get in, £17.50 pensioners but online it becomes cheaper. The little train ride is free and wheelchair friendly as is the whole park. I took my walker-trolley with me and I got my wheels everywhere. There are cafes and picnic areas, a small paddling pool for children and a fountain area where children could play in the little fountains. Lovely animals, all clean and safe. Take soap and a hand towel if you are going to touch the animals. Staff very friendly. There is even the stocks to put naughty people in. Good fun.

We recently visited Drusilla's Park to celebrate my severely disabled daughter's 40th birthday. Our entire family went, eleven in all ranging in age from 72 to 18 months, so it came to quite a hefty sum, even booking on line.
When booking I found that a disabled visitor had to pay for admission, but their helper could get in for free. I was keen to get everything right, so rang to ask if any documentation should be produced for this concession.
As my daughter lives in a care home I was told to bring a letter on headed note paper stating that she was in receipt of the Disabled Living Allowance. This seemed a bit heavy, I would have thought that a clearly disabled woman in a wheel chair who had a valid Blue Badge should have been accepted as a genuine case, but I got the required letter and thought that would be that. However, we encountered considerable quibbling at the gate. A queue of people built up behind us while my letter was frowned over, rejected as insufficient, a longish phone call was made to someone and inquiries were made, in full earshot of all the bored people behind us, as to what benefits my daughter did or did not receive. We did, in the end, get the concession, but why all the third degree stuff? I had taken exactly what was asked for, and my daughter is very clearly and obviously severely disabled.
Once we got past the gate we did all have a very nice day. The animals are very well housed and well cared for. They all seemed happy and were easy for even our smallest children to see. In addition to the Zoo part of the park, the playgrounds and children's rides were very good and greatly enjoyed. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
I cannot comment on the quality of catering there as we took a picnic lunch, which we were able to eat in a sheltered picnic area, with good tables and benches under a roof, just as well as it was very wet. Sadly the coffee we bought was undrinkable, perhaps it would have been better from the Starbuck's in another area of the park.
So, all in all, a good time, but please, Drusillas, be a little less heavy handed with the burocratic hoops you make disabled visitors jump through

We took our 22 month old son to Drucillas Park on a very hot day. He had a lovely time and we enjoyed seeing him have fun. The Park is very well maintained and clean. Lots of playgrounds, animals and things to do for all ages. We particularly liked the GET WET area, EXPLORERS pool and Thomas the tank engine. Under 2s are free. It is quite expensive put worth it.

A gem of a day out in a beautiful part of the country. There's enough to do to fill a day and the quality of the attractions and facilities is very good. The animals appear well cared for in large enclosures with a good mix of indoor and outdoor space.

Catering outlets all clean and seemingly well run if a little pricey.

The outdoor and indoor play spaces are great with plenty of variety and space to let the little ones let off steam.

I recently took my 9 year old daughter to Druisillas for a Zoo Keeper for the day experience. I was blown away by how hands on it was. From prepping the food, to mucking out and feeding it was a truly all round experience. Hand feeding penguins, beavers and meerkats were just some of the highlights. Behind the scenes seeing and holding bugs, furry critters and stroking an armadillos belly! The two hand reared meerkats (they were abandoned) used for educational purposes were a joy to cuddle and play with. Julie looked after us and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She encouraged us to throw plenty of questions at her and I lost track of how many photos we took. You are not sharing the experience with anyone else so its one to one except when feeding the penguins as another girl was having a birthday present experience. Thoroughly recommend it - worth every penny!

We used our Tesco vouchers to buy our tickets so we got in for free (2 adults & 1 child). Even if we had paid it still would have been a great day. Our little girl loved everything, especially the Hello Kitty cars and the Get Wet splash pad. We even got wet as we were melting in the hottest day in the UK so far this year. A tip though, is maybe avoid the zoo if you get there first thing. This bit was really crowded when we went through. After 3pm we went back to look at the meerkats again and the zoo was empty so you got to look properly without having to rush.

We had a lovely day out at Drusillas on Sunday with my 10 month old daughter, her 4 year old cousin and nannie, lots to do For kids and adults, good picnic areas and paddling pool for the kids, I used to come here all the time when I was young and it still holds that magic from 20 years ago, only thing that put us off from coming straight back was the price, Drusillas has always been expensive but £18 entry on the door or £16 online for adults and for kids is over the top, after 3-4 hours you have done everything and it works out a very expensive day which is a shame, they don't offer any sort of 2 for 1 discount or anything else like most of these other zoo/parks for kids, I mean London zoo is £24 to get in but you can find 2 for 1 and other discounts anywhere from the Internet to back of cereal boxes so for that reason Drusillas gets a 3 star, greedy owners which is a big shame!!

Drusilla's offer a wonderful all day experience to be a zoo keeper. From learning about the diets of the animals, helping to weigh and prepare the meals which you will then go on to feed them. We liked the fact that our zoo keeper took the time to explain about the animals, their history with Drusillas which helped to create a real understanding of the animals that live there including an insight into their personalities.

The junior lunch provided (as part of the package) in the restaurant offered a varied choice and my daughter just loved the polo shirt given to her on arrival. At the end of the day we purchased a jumper too.

Bring a camera and wear sensible shoes. A bottle of water each is a good idea along with a rucksack for the person accompanying, as you will have the opportunity to get involved to hold, stroke and feed the animals too!

We had the silver package attending midweek, overall we would thoroughly recommend the zoo keeper experience!

We had a ball here all day. Tonnes to do and went on most rides twice. Lots of animals to see and had a great time with the little mini games. Only thing which I thinks needs improving was the jump as far as a wallaby, my husband had a go at this and due to lack of sand and concrete underneath he managed to slip and quite badly bruised his coccyx which put a dampen on the day. More sand and some sort of padding needed underneath it. The play park was great but so very huge, I found it hard to keep an eye on my child which was very unsettling for me. Great disabled access as we had mobility scooter with us and we had no issues at all.
Great day had by all

Took our granddaughter and our 5 1/2 month old Guide Dog Puppy, to the park, the staff made us very welcome and were on hand to answer any queries we had around the zoo area. We had a lovely time and the rides and play areas suited our 8 year old granddaughter. The food purchased in the Explorers Café was of very good quality and reasonably priced.

Was very jubious before I went due to the age of the kids I was taking but I shouldn't have been. They are 8,9 & 10 and absolutely loved it along with me & my husband!
So much to see & do there with lots of educational info about animals thrown in! Nice little touches of tasks/comps for the kids to do on the way round too.
I would highly recommend you pay drussilas a visit. Caters for lots of age groups.

Had a fantastic time here, visiting with my 3yr old, 10mth old, husband & Mum. We spent most of the day here & brought our own picnic as assumed the food would be expensive (it was). The entry fee was pretty substantial (£60 for all of us) but when you compare to other zoo's I suppose it is fairly reasonable. By far the best area was the HUGE outdoor play park and water zone - we spent more time here than anywhere else & were lucky with the weather to enjoy it properly. My 3yr-old also had a great time on the Thomas train and the rides in the Hello Kitty area, which are very much geared towards young children. We will definitely return!

We have just returned from a fabulous day out at Drusillas Zoo Park with our daughter and granddaughter aged 4yrs.
Although the weather was drizzly we had a great time. Plenty of small zoo animals with lots of information and guides and maps. Not the best of lay outs to the whole Park but I suppose that is what happens when places grow.
For our very active granddaughter the rides and other activities made the day.
The new water play area was well thought out and every town should have one!! Brilliant idea! There were plenty of places to sit for picnics but not many undercover and some reasonably priced food outlets and well placed loo stops. We will be back!

Visited as a family group including 3 children between 6-9.
Lots for the kids to see, they also enjoyed getting stamps in their books when they saw animals. Animals were good, the farmyard area had lots of interesting things to see, do and you could touch he animals. Outdoor play area is brilliant, large and lots to do. The "Get wet" area was pretty good too. hello Kitty world was lovely - great opportunities to take photos of the kids. Food areas had a good selection at a reasonable price, there are several picnic areas. Unfortunately there are several activities that require payment once you are in... Slide, gold panning, climbing wall & these were over priced in my opinion. The Ice Creams available from the kiosk near Thomas the Tank engine were poor quality & expensive... Whipped ice cream that was just runny white slop & very messy... The day we visited wasn't hot so no excuse.
There are a couple of gift shops, decent toilet facilities. I used Tesco vouchers which made it a great cheap day out..

I am a teacher and I took my class here on a school trip. The workshop was very informative. They have mainly rainforest animals so some children were disappointed there wasn't any giraffes, elephants, tigers etc. It's a very small and tight compact zoo. Very narrow pathways but good up close viewing areas of the animals. Very large picnic area. Many small rides and a train suitable for young children. Would need to spend the whole say there to appreciate it all.

My boyfriend and I were on holiday so we wanted a day out. We decided on here as the website looked great. Turns out we were right!

We arrived around 11 so there was no queue to get in. It was really easy to find - lots of signs. For two adults the price was pretty good! We enjoyed stamping the book when we saw the animals. The zoo route was so easy to follow we didn't even use the map. There were footprints on the floor and signs saying, zoo route this way. You basically went round in a big loop and this was great as you didn't miss anything out.

We enjoyed looking at all the animals. They all look well looked after. The encounters were you get to walk in with the animals, was great. The staff seem pleasant. We throughly enjoyed the challenges along the way... How long can you hold on for? Can you climb 4ft high? how long can you hold your breath? how far can you jump? how fast can you run? Etc etc.

We stopped half way round and there was great parks for the children. The water area looks great fun. I would have had a go but my boyfriend said I was too big and old!! I'm a very big kid at heart. This is the perfect place for children to play and enjoy themselves. We had fun ourselves and we would have more fun if we had children so we would love to go back one day and we would recommend it to anyone. Especially families for their children. Thomas Land and Hello Kitty looked great too! There is a big bouncy slide and we did panning for gold which we spent doing for an hour. It cost £4 and we got a medal.

We ate in the Oasis cafe. We both had a chicken burger meal with large chips and large drink. It came to £13 so we thought it was a good price for the amount and quality of food. The chicken tasted lovely. It was a proper chicken breast and not processed meat.

There were several gifty shops. The large teddies were very expensive. We did buy the small gifts (pen, ruler) to remind us of the day.

We spend about 4 hours here, although we could have spent longer but we did have a 3 hour drive home. You also could have spent longer if you have children!

We look forward to coming back one day :)

We travelled an hour an a half to get to the place as we were coming from London but would have spent time travelling all over again for the experience! Had such a good time, defiantly no ordinary zoo! Thank you to Angela who gave us an amazing insight to the Trantulas and helped me to overcome my fear of spiders! My boyfriend loved the experience and we both want to come back! :)

As we arrived at 10.35am I counted 9 coaches and thought here we go but no we allow 5 min and the 3 school party's in front of us cleared so we took our time and enjoyed the zoo it was clean well maintained and there was little to no smell of any animals (like we cared we live on a farm) the staff were more than happy to engage and talk to everyone.
We ate in the Oasis 2 adult burgers and chips with drink + 2 kids nuggets and chips with drinks £24 not to bad all food was good and fresh issue with one order but BECKY fixed it with no problem. Both my girls loved the splash zone (throw towels and a change in you're bag it's not hard).

In all we had a great day with animal stamps, zoolimpics, the amount off animals to see and learn about then the great play area and small rides for the kids.

If we are ever in the area again we would visit.

I have a 4 year old and an 18 year old. We visited Drusilla's with my elderly parents, we were all thrilled with the experience. Kid-friendly exhibits with loads of hands-on fun, easy walking for oldies, and a ginormous playground for kids to use up excess energy while we adults recharged. All animals looked healthy and happy, thank you for a wonderful day!

We visited drusillas using our tesco boost vouchers
We were amazed how good they cater for young children we did so much and enjoyed every minute
The place was amazingly clean on par with disney land.
And the staff were all friendly and very happy to help, and all very chatty
We had lunch at the explorer cafe
Which was ok as far as theme park/zoo meals go it was however very reasonably priced. We had two jacket potatoes with salad and a kids lunchbox with two coffees and a cake
And it came to just over £20 which is very good as we paid over double this at chessington world of adventures.
If you haven't been then go go go
I couldn't praise it enough.
As for the zoo it was very well laid out with everything on show to see through glass rather than cages all the animals looked very well kept and healthy.
The new splash zone and indoor soft play and all the parks are great and also very well kept.
We will be going back next year again with our little ones especially as they are adding new attractions.
The only sad thing is a big farewell to Thomas the tank.
My lad loved the train ride
Thank you Drusillas for an amazingly fun day out.

We've just got home from a slightly soggy day at Drusillas. Despite a large pre school group we were only one of a few other families there which is great with small children as not much queuing.

Despite the weather being rubbish all staff in shops and especially on the rides (and a specific shout out to all on the hello kitty rides) were amazing! I've been to a lot of places like this and the staff are ok but clearly have places they would rather be but they all smiled and engaged with us despite it being a clearly slow and soggy day!

It's an expensive day for what you get in the park. We used the Tesco boost vouchers but I wouldn't fancy paying £54 for 3 of us to go in. It's quite a small park and whilst the animal are fab felt they could have made more use of the space and had more rides. It's also not fair to add more attractions which cost money like the penguin slide (£3.30!) when you spend so much getting in!

Food is plentiful and not overly expensive and the serving areas again are cleaned well and staff are friendly and helpful!

A fab day for a group of 4 year olds!

So it is not a cheap day out but it is awesome fun. I haven't been since I was a child myself (a little while ago....) and it has changed so much.
The whole family enjoyed it as there are lots of different things to do. Animals, rides, water areas and so much more there is lots to see and do.
I personally found the Hello Kitty area a bit weird but that might just be me and my toddler enjoyed the rides there. If I still lived locally I would definitely buy a membership pass as there is so much to do there.
If the weather is nice definitely take swimming clothes for the little ones as there is a small pool area and a water play area.
Sad to see this is the last year Thomas the tank engine will be there, hope the safari train theme works as well.
