Spent a lovely day with my young family (5 years old), thought at first it would be a stretched half day with not a lot there but struggled to fit it all in before closing!!!! So child friendly!!! Reminded us of Disney world in Florida without the warm weather, clean, tidy and well run.
Would recommend it to any family but take a pack up lunch as food and entry prices are a bit steep.
Animal enclosures are well kept, clean and tidy as are the amenities.

We went for the day with my husband, our 2 children and my husbands parents.
We all really enjoyed it and had lots of fun. Lots to do and plenty of things for the children to play on. We were all exhausted at the end of they day and slept well.
The children loved the boom of animals which they had to get stamped everytime we saw the animal in the book. Lots of facts and interesting information to be learnt.
We booked online which saved a little money on the entrance price and meant we didn't have to queue to get in as we went through the members entrance.
If we lived nearby we would consider the membership deals to make it more affordable.
We all really enjoyed it and had lots of fun. Lots to do and plenty of things for the children to play on. We were all exhausted at the end of they day and slept well.

If it rains there is also an indoor play centre for the kids to run wild in.

On the way back from a weekend away we stopped off here for day out.
It's a wonderful place with so many different things to keep the kids entertained. There is a great number of different species that all seem pretty happy in this place.
The kids loved seeing them as well as playing on the swings etc.

I had my older brother and sister-in-law coming over to stay last weekend, with their two sons (4 & 6). My wife and I didn't know what we could do with them to entertain and excite them, as we haven't had kids yet and are a bit green in that department.
Well... Drusillas popped up as a potential day and we quickly decided to give it a try. Man, was that a shrewd decision.
It's such a well put together park with beautiful exotic wildlife all over the place, all living in very well looked after conditions. The gibbons were basically the dons, swinging around and chasing each other in the lush green enclosure. We all loved that bit particularly!
THEN we were completely taken off guard by the yet further amazing adventure park right at the end! I thought it was just going to be animals, but the kids spent a further hour running wild amongst various large climbing frames, swings, slides etc. whilst we chilled with an ice cream and coffee.
It all felt very safe. The perfect opportunity to let the kids do a bit of a exploring.
My brother's feedback was that, if he lived in this area around Lewes (as we do), he would certainly buy an annual pass for the family and use the various different aspects of the park for different days out - wild live attractions vs. playpark vs. waterpark, etc. each providing very different types of entertainment in their own right.
Brilliant stuff, I'll definitely visit again when I have my own child in the coming year!

We visit Drusillas often with our annual membership, and it is always a great day out. Recently my daughter was 'Keeper for the day' as a special birthday present. It was a fantastic experience and worth the money. She can't wait to do it again!

An expensive day out softened by pre buying entry vouchers from Tesco. Rides and adventure park is great for young kids but not really anything for adults to do only sit and keep an eye on the kids.

For the last thirteen years, as grandparents we have brought yearly membership for our two grandsons and one grand-daughter. We have spent many happy days with them at Drusillas, at first pushing them round in a pushchair, progressing to seeing them toddle around, then walk around and as the years flew by they would all be running off to see there favourite animal or activity. No matter what the weather it was always a good day when we went to Drusillas. I would urge any grandparent/ parent to buy a yearly membership for yourselves and your children, you won't regret it, and you will have wonderful memories for years to come. Thank you Drusillas.

Prebooked tickets so once we got the start of the queue we didn't have to wait long though the queue was long.
Once in our 2 1/2 year old loved the small zoo but was eager to get on and explore the other areas.
Spent a fair amount of time in the splash zone and considering how busy the park was, this never seemed over busy. Kitty Land and Thomas were hits with him to.
Food was Ok but did seem a little expensive for what it was but never the less you could take a picnic if you wanted to.
I'm currently on crutches and could get around fine with my partner looking after our son to stop him running off in his excitement so would say access is fine.
Overall a great day was had by all and if we lived nearer we would pay for a membership as our son does love it there.

Lots to see and do. Perfect for a day trip. Lots of small and cute creatures. My daughter enjoyed the Hello Kitty house and false rat garden, including all the rides. Also the penguin slide! Tip: get to the explorer cafe by noon to find a table and avoid big queues at lunchtime.

We used to go to Drusillas a lot when the children were small. We went back today after an absence of many years. It was much bigger and more developed than before. The animal enclosures were clean and looked interesting for the animals. The whole place looked neat and tidy and informative.
The biggest change was to the children's play area which is now absolutely massive and more like a theme park with the Hello Kitty themed area. We wondered why the zoo part looked so quiet and it was only when we got to the end, that we saw they were all in the play areas.
So, if with children under 10 years or so, this place is fantastic. For adults only or teenage children there is probably only an hour's worth of looking at the animals and wandering around.
But all in all, this place just gets better all the time.

What an amazing place this is. Small animals in zoo, petting zoo and a funfair just for little ones. Hello Kitty Secret Garden has cars to drive, tea cup ride and an up and down ride. Thomas the Tank engine gives rides around the part and sometimes the Fat Controller comes to visit.
Probably the best soft play area I have ever seen and can't wait for the enlarged water play area to open this year.
Explorer's café serves a wide range of food and not too bad prices or you can take a picnic.
A full day out - opens at 10.00am and you can easily stay until closing time. I love this place and go with my Grandchildren as often as I can.

We went on a Sunny Sunday morning along with our 7 year old daughter. My kid certainly did enjoyed the park. The following is my feedback:
PROS:
1. A great mix of zoo and amusement park.
2. The Zoo was well structured with interesting collection of animals. The animals was well maintained.
3. I liked the narrative & informative style of the zoo landscape. It kept my kids interested.
4. The best part of the zoo was animal feeding activities. Lemur, bird feeding experience was quite enjoyable.
5. The amusement park was quit a handful. My kids was quite active.
6. The train ride was good.
7. The theme of the month was "Hello Kitty" park. My daughter liked the most.
CONS:
1. The biggest attraction was the animal feeding activities is payable. It is quit expensive. Please be aware of that.
2. Food inside the park is quite expensive and limited options. It is advisable for families to bring their own picnic bags and enjoy their lunch.
3. Berwick is a very small location and hence public transport extremely limited. It is stronly advisable to bring our Private vehicle.
4. This park is completely an outdoor activity. Hence it is advisable to check the weather forecast before planning to come to the park.
5. The Zoo is limited with handful of animals. Do not expect a full fledged extensive experience of Zoo. You might just be disappointed.

The zoo is only a small zoo, no massively exciting animals but good for small children. The play equipment however is fantastic, especially for preschoolers, have a ride on Thomas, Hello Kitty rides, splash pad, adventure playgrounds, zip wires, soft play, it's great. It's good even on a rainy day. It can get chilly though as the area it is in us very close to the downs and I quite exposed, so wrap up on a cold day or get very cold! And if you're local, membership is worth every penny, especially when it comes to the Christmas Winter Wonderland light show. My only bug bear is that they don't give you discounts on food with your membership in ALL of the food eateries on site. Just in the main restaurant. This is indoors and often packed. I think they should offer the discount at the burger bar and in the soft play cafe too.

The zoo was ok for a small zoo but the play equipment is good and a lot of it, we spent about a hour in the zoo and three hours in the play area, we had to drag our daughter away. A must with small children.

Lots of places to park, free parking. It cost us £70 in total for the 4 of us, which we felt was a little much. The animals looked happy and well looked after. Plenty of smoking areas plotted around the park. Lots to do you could be there for hours, something for all ages. They have a few different cafes and restaurants. There's a huge play park and water areas. The Thomas train and hello kitty rides were all free. Hot drinks and food are on the expensive side. Loads of school children there so didn't really get to see the animals properly due to them running around and screaming, so had to move on quickly. Thomas train was only twice an hour. I would recommend this place for families with young children and animal lovers.

My husband treated me to zoo keeper for the day for my birthday and it was one of the best presents l have ever had. I was met by Julie my zoo keeper who put me at ease straight away. She was so knowledgeable about all the animals and answered all my many questions, nothing was too much trouble for her. We cleaned out and fed a lot of animals. The highlight of my day was holding and cuddling two meercats, l really wanted to take them home with me they were so cute! If you love animals then this is just the thing for you, l can't praise it enough, you will have a wonderful day

For my daughter's 9th Birthday present, she was a Zoo Keeper for the day - it was absolutely amazing, for a really animal lover like her. She started off feeding meerkats, then penguins, mongeese, racoons, carabays, lemars etc etc - the list was endless - all under the watchful eye of her lovely Zoo Keeper, Julie. Then she was holding snakes, hedgehogs, armadillo and more tame meerkats - she had a really fantastic time, learnt a lot and wants to do it again next year. It was expensive, but worth every penny - BRILLIANT!!

I spent a day at Drusillas park, which is the best small zoo in the country. Drusillas is in east Sussex near Briton. There are lots of animals including monkeys, penguins, flamingos, otters, green iguanas, cows and lots of others but my favourite was the fennec fox.

Despite living in Brighton for nearly 40 years I somehow missed the Drusillas experience. The kids went there but with the school or friends and I never took them.
Wondering what to do with our 22 month old grandson I finally took the plunge and visited Drusillas.
First of all, if you're thinking of going it's worth bearing in mind that on-line advance tickets are cheaper than "on the door" but have to be booked at least the day before.
I wasn't sure what to expect. A second rate zoo with a few farm animals perhaps?
What a surprise. I really enjoyed it and so did little grandson. I thought a few hours would be enough but my wife assured me we'd be there all day. Really?
In the end she was right. A lot of things to do and see.. The animals are great (even if I'm still not sure about how I feel about them being locked up out of their natural habitat) and there were far more than I expected.
The play areas were excellent and our grandson had a fine time in the adventure park climbing net ladders (yes he did!) with me having to follow him to make sure he was OK.
I liked the small information boards informing me of facts like an ostrich egg is strong enough to support the weight of a man.
Most of the cafes were shut (only open a weekends and school holidays) but the one that was open was reasonable in price and quality.
We were there for about 6 hours and there were still bits we either didn't get a chance to see or weren't suitable for the toddler.
All in all a very enjoyable, if tiring, day.

Fast forward 20 years and I'm back, this time bring my own offspring of Terror, young William.
He's only two months now, but give him time, and he will cause no end of mischief.
The zoo has updated and it's such a lovely place to bring the kids. Some interesting animals, the penguins are a good addition. A nice restaurant to eat, play park is brilliant, water place great.... loads to do.
We will return when Will boy is older, I'd say two-three is ideal to be able to do all the areas.

We wanted a venue for a small group to get together following my mother's funeral. Mum had fond memories of Drusillas so my sister and I opted to go there. Malcolm the catering manager could not have been more helpful in discussing our requirements. He said he would organise everything for us which he did. We were provided with a separate seating area and an excellent buffet. The food was fresh and plentiful and just right for what we wanted. The service from Malcolm and his assistant was perfect. It was an important occasion for my sister and I and Malcolm ensured that it was problem free. Thank you so much
