On 21st June almost 1700 Brownies and leaders from Girlguiding Greater London Kent celebrated 100 years of Brownies at Drusilla's. The staff were fantastic and helpful from our initial enquiry to the event itself. The Brownies loved it and very few had ever been before. Quite a few leaders said they ran out of time to do everything and were very impressed with how interactive the park is together with the animal spotter books and zoolympic challenge. The Hello Kitty attraction was very popular with the Brownies. Several leaders have commented on how helpful the Drusilla's staff and volunteers were and that they were all smiling all day. Drusilla's had thought out the parking of our 43 coaches and they were at the far end of the field with a coned off route for the girls to walk down into the park to ensure their safety. A really successful day and one we would definitely like to repeat in a few years time once the current Brownies have moved onto Guides and they have been replaced with a new batch of girls.

What a suprise to see so many brownies all in one place, 45 coaches..! and the park carried on as normal. Good day out and all credit due to the way the park is managed. lets hope they extend it more and further the experience of all those that visit.

My daughter wrote the above on a comment card on our way home (too late to hand it in and the spelling wasn't great). We've been to loads of zoos and theme parks but she told everyone that Drusilla's Park is the best. Her favourite bits were the Hello Kitty area and the huge play areas. We used our Tesco clubcard vouchers to get in so it was great value for money and I didn't mind buying lunch (normally we take a packed lunch to theme parks). The salad bar was fantastic, (better than a Harvester or Pizza Hut) so I had lasagne with salad. It was very reasonably priced (can't remember exactly how much). I'd much rather see small animals in relatively large, well designed enclosures. The animals must be happy because there were lots of babies around including baby beavers which I'd never seen before. The spotter guide and zoolympics book were free and my daughter loved collecting the stamps and we all tried the zoolympic activities. Its very interactive and educational. We stayed there 6 hours and we were never bored. We drove an hour to get there and we'll go there again the next time we are on the mainland (we live on the Isle of Wight)

Found this through leaflets at our haven site hastings and booked tickets online to save a bit of cash. Just take down tickets number and reference number and take that along to the gate and in you go. Loads of animals and interactive bits in the zoo area. Absolutely huge play areas thats gonna keep kids of all ages happy for hours. Even i wanted to get in there on the slides. Really cool thomas the tank engine ride and a hello kitty area with 3 rides. My only downside was that the hello kitty area seems to be more superior than the thomas area and lets be honest Thomas the Tank engine is far cooler than Hello Kitty

We visited with our 2 pre-school age kids and were a little worried after reading some not so good reviews but I've honestly no idea what there is to dislike!
Entry was £39 for a family of 3 (smallest is under 2), we booked online, we felt it was good value for money.
The zoo part is really good, our 4 year old really enjoyed stamping his spotter book and we all took part in some of the zoolympics activities. The zoo is really interactive with lots of see and touch, it is laid out brilliantly.
The outdoor play areas are brilliant! So much to do, the kids loved it.
The Thomas the Tank Engine ride was ok, very short and not much to see but perfect for small children.
Hello Kitty's Secret Garden is fab, the teacups and cars were a hit with both the kids and our son loved the "bouncy ride" so much he stayed on for 4 goes!
We had some lunch in one of the cafes, pizza and chips or salad was very reasonable at £3.99 for an adult meal.
Our only complaint was the coffee in the softplay, it's awful! Possibly the worst coffee we've ever tasted. Considering Starbucks is available everywhere else in the park, we expected better.
We were in the park 3 and a half hours, I've no idea how people have only made it last a short time! We could have easily made it 4-5 hours if the children hadn't been so worn out!

Went to Drusilla Park near Eastbourne for my birthday, Had a wonderful day.
It was fairly quiet, no crowds as it was January, but it was dry if a little chilly.
My friend and I had a lovely stroll around, seeing all the monkeys, racoons, lemurs,
very funny to watch, some gorgeous fennec foxes, Red Panda, and some very
industrious beavers trying to build a dam, Wonderful to see the amazing Binturongs, a sort
of a bear/cat, most unusual, and 2 beautiful serval cats, one of which posed beautifully for
me for her photo. A lovely place to stroll round, you can either take a packed lunch as we did
and sat outside or there are several cafes & restaurants to choose from.
Would recommend it to anybody who loves all animals.
The keepers are very helpful and would gladly tell you all about a certain animal if you asked them. They even let me and my friend have a real close up photo with the Alpaca & Llama.
Wonderful !!!

Visited Drusillas park with our 20 month old baby and she had such a great time ! We actually took the bus from Brighton - Seaford - Alfriston (47 - Cuckmere Rambler Bus).

It is a well planned out zoo along with park and you just feel at home here. Perfect balance of animal exhibits along with children's activities and play area. We all had a great time.. Particularly, toddlers around the age of 2 just starting to recognize animals and cartoon characters will enjoy this part as they can relate so much !

Only disadvantage I would say is that the Thomas train ride would have been nice if it is was a longer more attractive one. Also, the explorer lagoon is not so great with cold waters not suitable for children under 6 though it is recommended for them.

Cost bit on the higher side. But, certainly worth the money.

My son recently did this and the experience was superb. He was the only one for the day and the attention to detail was great. The keeper looked after him throughout and he saw some great animals, including touching them i.e. Meerkats. All other staff was super polite and he was announced as a day keeper when involved with activities with the public. I can't speak highly enough of how much my son got from this, first class day.

My partner and I took our 2 year old son here today for his birthday and what a day we had. My son absolutely loved it all, the hello kitty cars, going on Thomas and loved going in the small pool as the weather was so nice. The whole park was clean and attractive and food prices were good and large portions. Great day out and will definitely be returning!

The zoo was not what amazed and entertained my little 3 year old. The playground, Thomas the train and the Hello Kitty ridepark is what puts this at the top of any family list in SE England.

From the minute we pulled into the car park my kids were bouncing in their car seats with excitement. When we got into the park they were not disappointed it just got better and better. The park is so interactive all the way round. It's clean, well cared for and maintained to the highest standard. The prices are very reasonable once in the park too, usually with places like this you end up paying through the nose for food and refreshments but prices are very affordable. The hello kitty secret garden is just a delight and every little girls dream (my son loved it too to be honest) the Thomas the tank engine train ride is a treat for all the family. Do not hesitate to book this, you will not be disappointed...great day out for both children and adults! Just amazing!

This was my first visit to Drusillas and definitely will not be my last. I was amazed at how much there is to see and do there. I visited with a friend and we did not take children with us but there was still plenty to see .. So I would recommend Drusillas as a place to go for adults as well as children. But for children with the zoo, farm, paddling pool and play areas as well as Thomas the tank engine and Miss Kitty and all the interactive activities around the zoo this is a fantastic day out for them. We ate in the Explorers cafe and the food was of a good quality and a very reasonable cost.. I look forward to my next visit..

As regulars and season tickets holders it's fair to say we visit a lot but now with the addition of Hello Kitty Secret Garden it's even better. Our 4 year old loves the new rides and thankfully not massive waiting times.

Food is much improved also. Over great day out

This was our first family visit to Drusillas. It certainly won’t be our last. The zoo alone, with its interactive ‘zoo-lympics’ and ‘animal-spotter’ activities were great fun. The icing on the cake however, was being able to feed lorikeets and walk inside the lemur enclosure. I’m not sure our camera has ever worked so hard!

Having spent so long with the animals, we rushed our lunch, in order to experience as much of the rest of the park as possible. The kids loved interacting with their hero’s, ‘Thomas and Friends’ and ‘Hello Kitty’. This was followed by exhausting adventures on the MASSIVE climbing frame, (it’s a hide-and-seek heaven). The day ended with a splash in the Explorers-Lagoon, before taking two tired and wet children home. The only question they wanted the answer to was, “When are we going to go back?”

The answer is, ¨Very soon”.

Came here for a Birthday treat for my 8 yr old, must admit after =hearing all the hype was a bit disapointed especially as cost more that what I checked on line it would be on the day and on the display board at the entrance. Think its expensive day out for what is there. Girls mainly liked the adventure playground more than anything! Done it once and prob b the last ; (

We consisted of 4 adults and one 3+ year old £82.50 to get in typical British rip off.

Yes it was super day for our Grandson loads to see and for the elder ones loads of information and lots to learn about the animal Kingdom.

would have felt a lot better about the day had we not had to dig into pockets yet again for some of the attractions. Our grandson loves sand and playing in sand yet the little treasure hunt costs another £2.50 with the promise of a prize if 3 fosils are found.

Prize indeed some tiny plastic dinasaur, Had we not been charged enough. Rip off

This was our first visit to Drusilla Park and we had a very enjoyable time. The Zoo although not having any of the usual larger zoo animals was very good and the animal spotter book we had was fun for our girls trying to find all the animals in the book. The zoo is very well organised and has a good path that is easy to follow so you don't miss any of the animals. There is a Lori Landing where you can walk in a birds enclosure and they will come and sit on your hand/arms shoulders which is great fun, Had lunch in the park and there was a good choice of food for adults and children and reasonably priced. The new Hello Kitty Garden was OK, it had three rides and maximum time we queued for any ride was about 10 mins. These rides are suited to under 7's as my girls at 3 and 6 only wanted to do them once. We ended up in the outdoor play area where again there were lots of activities to keep them busy. Would definitely recommend as a day out. We booked our trip through the Visit Eastbourne website and also stayed in the Shore View Hotel which included 4 free tickets to Drusillas park for £ 99.00 as we came midweek.

Our first visit of 2014, we have been visiting Drusillas for the last 5 or 6 years and have seen it grow and offer more year after year. This year we chose to take a picnic instead of buying food on site as it was forecast to be a hot and sunny day, there is no shortage of tables and the area was spotless, during our time the bins were emptied twice and the crew were litter picking and keeping the area spotless. We bought several drinks and ice creams throughout the day and as every year we were impressed that these were not charged at the usually high rates that other attractions charge. The new Hello Kitty area is great and even better that their is no additional charges. Toilets were exceptionally clean throughout the whole day, this is not easy when kids are involved but they manage very well. Also, have to highlight how fantastic the whole operation is as we had the need for some first aid assistance, the first aider treated our sons injury and was with us less than a minute after they were called. Thanks for another great visit, we will be back again soon.

We went to Drusilla's on an Inset day which meant it was really quiet. We were very impressed that the new Hello Kitty rides were free. All the extra activities were open and as we are members this was brilliant for us. Dave Rich on the climbing walls deserves a special mention. He helped all three children to the top of three different parts of the climbing wall with lots of top tips and enthusiasm.
The highlight of our day was when we went to see the new baby lemur. Whilst we were there we were lucky enough to see all the ringtail lemurs running to the top of a tree and singing! We were told this is to tell everyone that it is their territory. This was a very special moment.

The zoo at Drusillas really is quite brilliant. We have been to bigger and more famous zoos but this is probably the one we have enjoyed the most. The free zoolympic book and animal spotter sets it completely apart and meant that our kids really engaged with the animals and learnt heaps.
Hello Kittys secret garden looked lovely but the rides were disappointing - they entertained our 3 year old but that was probably the limit. The Thomas train was fun and made our nearly 5 year old very happy.
It was all going so well until we got into the area where we wait for Thomas and were bombarded with a whole load of attractions you had to pay extra for. £70 entrance fee for a family of 5 is fine but allowing our kids on any one of these extras would have set us back at least another £12. Drusillas doesn't need them. There's plenty to do without them but it felt a real shame to have to explain to our children that they couldn't do these things. Not what you expect when you've paid a significant some to travel, get in and eat there.

What a superb animal park to visit. The exhibits are beautifully clean and very modern in appearance. The small animals are a delight to watch especially at feeding time. We were lucky enough to see a baby lemur clinging onto it's mum's back. The Lori landing is wonderful if you love to be with birds. They will land on your head, arms, especially if you purchase a little bowl of 'nectar' for them to drink. Wonderful. The play area for children is massive and very cleverly arranged, all complete with safety ground cover beneath. The food is not expensive either and not tiny portions.
Cannot praise Drusillas highly enough and I just wish I lived nearer, I'd be there weekly!

My wife and I visited Drusillas for bank holiday Monday with our 1 year old daughter. Even though it was raining we all had a great day with everything being perfectly suited for my daughter to enjoy with easy views into all the animal enclosures - she had a particularly great time looking at the meerkats! The park had a really great variety of animals and a number of the enclosures where inside and under cover so the rain didnt put us off at all. In addition to the animals we had a great time at the Hello Kitty world, going on the rides and even meeting hello kitty herself....though my little one was a little bit shocked to meet a giant cat! We will definitely be visiting the park again!

What we enjoyed most:

Easy viewing for my daughter at all the enclosures - I didn't have to keep picking her up to see!
The Zoo Olympics - a fund challenge to do whilst going around the park
Great Variety of animals and educational setting
Nice variety and really affordable food - often a rarity in zoos and parks!
