Really enjoyed it, but expensive

A great day out. The weather was stunning.

Went with 1,2 and 3 year old... unfortunately raining but it didn't matter too much... many of the paths between the animal displays were covered... although the play areas were not. There were 2 or 3 places yo eat... we went to the largest which is by the exit and found they catered well for all ages.. very helpful friendly and happy staff. Some of the animals were very unusual and all looked happy and well. As ever, the mere cats were a highlight... and had two babies... very cute. Our 3 year old enjoyed collecting the stamps at each stage... so kept her well entertained.

Today we booked the Meet the Meerkat experience for my partners birthday. We arrived a bit early and enjoyed the views of the zoo before our experience. We were greeted by a lovely girl who was very good at keeping the experience a secret from my partner as it was an surprise! The route is easy to follow and has good directions and signage everywhere. We were then greeted by Julie who is one of the zoo keepers and she made us feel very welcomed and had excellent knowledge of all of the animals when we asked questions. During our meerkat experience we even got to meet one of the newest members of the family that had not long been born! Julie is an amazing guide and obviously really loves her job and the animals.<br>Thank you to all at Drusillas Park for a wonderful day and experience. We would only recommend a professional photo opportunity during the experience to make this experience even more memorable.

We had a nice day but would say suitable for up to 10 years of age, not much for the older children in our party. I would have been a expensive day out if it wasn't for the help from our Tesco vouchers. There are no concessions for children and you pay for 2 years old which is terrible as 2 year olds are too young and wouldn't be able to access what slightly older children could. Food was expensive and just ok quality.

I absolutely loved this place! So did my little niece. So many animals to see in lovely enriched enclosures that were kept beautifully with lots for the animals to do. Very clean. Reasonably priced with lots of fun things to do too.

Update [visit 02.03.2022]:<br><br>Visited during term-time, so understandably there was limited attractions, reduced staff, certain cafe's or shops closed etc. The penguin enclosure was completely shut off, I believe the lemur walk-through enclosure and some others were closed, the hello-kitty section has been completely gutted and will be replaced with something else in May 2022; so paying full price for a limited 'service' is a bit unfair. Again the prices of the food was border-line criminal (£7 for a salad, £2.25 for a slice of cake).<br><br>If the management of Drusillas actually read this; during term-time and whilst sections are closed, your new area 'Spark' should be free, not an additional fee especially as its still full price for admission and whilst your at it maybe a reduced admission fee because a good portion of your 'attraction park' was closed or undergoing refurbishment.<br><br>My wife and mother-in-law partook in an encounter with a sloth, which both being avid admirers of sloths I do believe they thoroughly enjoyed themselves but for the price of the encounter merely standing there and passing the animals food, again is very steep.<br><br>If anyone reads this, definitely utilise any online saving as I believe there are offers/discounts by ordering online (do not assume the offer applies when buying at the gate)<br><br>I am sure we will return at some point in the Summer following the refurbishment to see what the improvements are and in the hope to experience alot of the stuff we regrettably missed out on this visit.<br><br>Thanks for reading, if you made it this far 😬🤣<br><br>--------------------------------------------------------<br><br>[Previous Visit]<br>Great variety of animals, humungous play park inclusion of water park, some attractions to pay for (rock climbing, large inflatable slide etc). My main peeve is the cost of beverages and food (£2.50 for a 330ml can of coke, £7.95 for a mediocre burger and chips) totalled up with the cost of entry makes for a very expensive day out. My advice to anyone visiting is bring your own food and drink; certain seated areas only allow food purchased from certain restaurants to be consumed there but there is adequate seating/areas for a homemade picnic or food purchased outside of the park. Toilets are cleaned regularly and the park itself is very tidy, there is suitable signage to navigate the park and to notify visitors of feeding times or the attractions that are on at specific times. My conclusion - the venue itself is fantastic and the best in the local vicinity but the cost of food and beverages needs to be reviewed and amended for those unsuspecting visitors unaware they will need to remortgage their property for a day out.

Very expensive for what is on offer. My partner had a lot of clubcard vouchers which made it worthwhile. We got 90 pounds off so only had to spend an extra 40.(thats £130 for 2 adults and a 5yr old and a 2yr old) most of the enclosures were adequate and clean but there were a few where the animals were pacing..which is not a great sign from a welfare point of view. However all the primates were in top form and looked very happy with their spaces including the penguins and marsupials. The staff were generally very nice especially the lady in the small snack shop at the end HOWEVER, It would be nice if the people in the open enclosures where the bats and some small monkeys are could have a little more sparkle and passion. I asked a few simple questions about the animals to which i got "dunno" responses..they should be loaded with information about the animals they are minding rather than waiting for their shift to end. The rides are pretty good for the young ones my kids enjoyed them and the train is always great (brilliant driver too very happy and welcoming chap) all in all it was a nice day but i would pay max 60 or 70 for 2 adults and 2 children. That is reasonable. The food was quite expensive too HOWEVER i had a cheeseburger and was completely blown away by the quality. It tasted fantastic so i actually think the price was spot on..I can't speak for the rest of the menu though as I didn't try anything else. All in all a pleasent day though..with discount.

Lovely place, staff are always fab, could do with toilets half way through the animals for the little ones.<br>Limited choice on food as only one restaurant was open, but food there was nice.<br>Very pricey to get in but you can get clubcard deals to pay with.

Bit pricey £25 concession ...but very enjoyable.

A very good small zoo aimed at keeping children amused and educated. Aside from zoo animals there are play areas that will add cost but keep children occupied.

Amazing, definitely worth a visit

Fantastic visit today. Lovely display of animals to view with a fun stamp collecting and zoolympic challenge enjoyed by my 11 year old. 9 year old loved all the rides and play equipment. Really lovely family day and given half price offer to return which is valid until Christmas. Brilliant.

Love this place, so much to do and great value for money. If you are lucky enough to live within 10 miles of here I would definitely purchase an annual pass.

Very nice monkeys went ooh ooh ah ah and I liked the penguins very much. I even went to the go wild and went to the top of the tower. Like a spider. Itsy bitsy spider claimed up the water spout. But down cam the rain and washed him out.

Great mix of animals and other attractions.

Good but needs to cut prices of food

Lots of monkeys and birds to see. A perfect day out for children under 12. Lots of nice things to see and do and a couple of fun little rides at the end. Went during half term. Used vouchers so worth the visit. Recommend to take a picnic to save ££

Lovely place but at the prices they charge you shouldn't have to pay for extras inside 5 pound a child is ridiculous

Very nice place but the prices are too high. £33 per person (even for children 2+) is ridiculous price for a family with children.

Great day, just a shame about the cafe staff.

A few things closed and animals missing. Refreshments on the higher side of reasonable and the lower side of quality. otherwise a good day out. Selection of animals good.
