Lovely Wednesday evening prom with fireworks. Excellent conductor and large wind band. It was a warm summer's day but became chilly in the evening. Wrap up well.

Great in good weather although can get a little cool. They do sell blankets but you can also take your own , no alcohol allowed to be taken in but a bar is on site with snacks.Acts can be either good or bad , ours was 2 hours late which spoilt it rather as it missed the interval out and we left early as it over ran and we were cold.
Good wheelchair access though .

We had traveled to Eastbourne by train and had walked to the pier and decided to walk along the promenade pasting the Bandstand on route to the tower at the other end away from the pier. It was a very warm sunny day with some people even sunbathing on the beach in October, nice outlook. Different bands, play here and fireworks check out the flyers. Also nice gardens along the way.

Booked to stay at Eastbourne for a couple of days and was looking for things to do whilst there. Saw the Bandstand held tribute acts and Queen tribute band were playing the day we were due to arrive. So booked tickets online. Could only get tickets for the Balconies which I booked. You should get there early as people do start queuing quite early. We were lucky with the weather so was not cold or wet. The band was brilliant. There is a small bar on the Balconies but the queue was very long. Well worth a visit if going to Eastbourne. You should book tickets in advance. I had mine posted yo me but you can pick them up from the bandstand booking office.

The skies over Eastbourne were filled with music old and modern and alight with fireworks as a wonderful evening of renditions from an amazing silver band ended on a rousing finale of the 1812 overture. Fantastic!!

Throughout the summer, Eastbourne Bandstand hosts open air concerts. This is a picturesque setting, right on the seafront just a 200yards or so west of the pier. Every Wednesday evening, bands and small orchestras present varied musical programs always finishing with the “1812 Overture” and fireworks. Then on Fridays and Saturdays there are tribute bands, very popular so that it’s advisable to book a ticket in advance. This can be done from the Tourist Information Office where you can also pick up a comprehensive little booklet detailing forthcoming events. You don’t need a ticket if you just want to hear rather than see the performance as the Bandstand is located along the main promenade. You can even see the stage from certain spots along the promenade. Many people gather around on Wednesday as 10 o’clock approaches to watch the fireworks. An evening at the Bandstand makes for an entertaining and inexpensive night out at the end of a warm sunny day!

Thus bandstand is a great example of Art Deco architecture. It has been mostly well restored & maintained by the Council. However, some areas, especially the external walkways are scruffy & need money spending.
The bandstand is well used during the summer months with excellent tribute bands every week. They are very popular so you need to queue early to get good seats & book in advance

Book early to get main arena tickets
We had terrace tickets and went early to get seats near the front.
The performance was very good. There's a bar available and toilets nearby.
As it is outdoors it is best to check the weather forecast before booking. I took a cushion and blanket as I feel the cold and was fine.

We went to the 1812 Concert last Wednesday evening. The rain held off and the concert was brilliant culminating in a spectacular firework display.

The Bandstand has various tribute bands throughout the summer season too. The tickets are reasonably priced and the Bandstand is well worth a visit.

The only downside was that the ladies toilets situated outside the Bandstand were closed which would have been inconvenient if anyone wanted to spend a penny.

This is a delightful seaside venue with a good range of seating in two tiers,if you want up and close and room for a dance then go to the lower tier, the upper is more seated but there is still room to move around. Both areas have basic bars areas and toilets are available immediately outside the venue,no problems in going in and out.Staffed and stewarded by helpful happy folks.
Must mention the group that I saw which was the Alter Eagles played all the greats and with good audience interaction.
One my reservation about this venue has to be because of its open seafront location it is weather dependent.Go prepared with warm clothing and rugs on chilly nights and it’s fine but I wouldn’t want to be there on a wet evening.

Went with some friends and family to the ABBA tribute in October 2017 - for £7.95 we weren't expecting much ... but we were pleasantly surprised!
It was the best show! A great night out listening and dancing to fabulous singers! We wont miss 6th October 2018!
