The bandstand is covered in scaffolding till Easter 2014 undergoing refurbishment as the roof has been found to be unsafe.i will have to come back and see it in all its glory when it reopens.

A night spent in a very unusual setting listening to live music featuring a tribute to Amy Winehouse. It seems strange to listen to music in England in the open air during the evening. Normally I would only attend shows in a theatre, however, on this occasion it was enjoyable to be able to be outside on a pleasant evening. The Bandstand is a historic setting which is due to undergo urgent structural repairs, however, it is unique and deserves support. In previous years it has hosted the top military bands and the sound quality is very good. The stage is very close to the audience and at many tribute shows, audiences get up to dance to enhance the occasion. Tribute Acts perform every Friday between June and September and most tastes are covered. Bee Gee and Abba tribute acts are very popular, however, acts for the current generation are also catered for. I will certainly be supporting this venue next summer.

Take a trip to yesteryear with this beautiful bandstand. Lots of concerts during the summer with plenty of seating.
My fondest memory was watching couples, some of them in their 80's and 90s, wrapped up in thick coats and scarves to protect then against the bitter cold, clinging to each other, dancing to a Waltz on the Boxing Day dance! It brought tears to my eyes.

One of the few Seaside resorts to have a Bandstand on the seafront that has concerts to suit most musical tastes -year round. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are buzzing -be there or be square!!!

What a lovely place, this Bandstand is reputedly the most used in the UK, with shows varying from pop to good old Gilbert & Sullivan, with something for everyone, and best of all, not expensive - a true delight, a unique experience, so go!

Friday night was the last "tribute" bands night along with fireworks. Excellent music, well played. Sunday am and pm, two different siver bands entertained. Both were excellent, and it is great to see and hear the old traditions of the bandstands being maitained.

Being lucky enough to live in Eastbourne, we have been to several of the tribute nights this year. Neil Diamond, Michael Buble, Queen and Tom Jones were especially great (apart from the little boys in wigs at Tom Jones - what was that about??). It's a really good night out, and I would recommend becoming a Friend of the Bandstand. For £5 single or £10 for joint membership for 3 years you get 10% off tickets and drinks at the bar. Excellent value!! It's the last night on Friday, a tribute to the Tributes and fireworks, so don't miss it!

Excellent venue, great seating & sound. Enjoyable evening of light entertainment, music & dancing - Some advise as regards warmth whilst seated in the evening, i.e. one should consider travel rug, blanket or such like, can get chilly once the sun goes down!

Having watched the "Antiques Roadshow" from Eastbourne I was keen to see the Bandstand. The colours of lilac and purple were a perfect compliment to the stone. We attended the last Sunday Proms concert of the season. Performed by the Patcham Silver Band. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfortable canvas seats. We sat in a covered area so were not disturbed by some rain.

I decided to take myself off last weekend for a bit of me time, yes alone, to Eastbourne. I have been before for day trips but wanted to see a bit more and I was not disappointed. I stayed in a hotel overlooking the fort and RNLI shop and of course the beach. I booked a ticket for Friday night at the Bandstand for a tribute band of Neil Diamond which was fantastic, I met some lovely people and in the end we were up dancing. The Bandstand is so lovely, a real old part of yester year. I will definitely be going again next year to sample more events. The real bonus was the weather which was really lovely.

We had a wonderful time at the two concerts on Wednesday and Friday it was very cold so wrap up in warm clothes. The fireworks were great for the 1812 on Wednesday night. Neil diamond was wonderful. It is easy to book tickets please remember if someone is disable the career gets in free so you only pay for one person

Brilliant, Wednesday night concert 1812 overture with fireworks really good ,but a bit chilly even though it had been a hot day, so best to put on something warm or take a rug, nice coffee at the interval and very cheap all in all a great evening

Best bandstand I've visited. Excellent programme and services. The only charge is the cost of a concert ticket. Am amazed that Trip Advisor include this sort of place, good though it is. I heard the Central Band of the Royal British Legion - great band.

My wife and I visit Eastbourne now and again to walk along the promenade and eat fish & chips on the beach as a treat.

On a recent Sunday visit we came across the Bandstand playing a free show and was amazing to watch and listen to the music playing, some Andrew Lloyd-Weber tribute afternoon if I recall.

Took you back to the Edwardians and when bandstands were in full use.

Looking at the advertising there are nightly shows from July to September. Booked a swing tribute evening online for £5 each in the main arena to coincide with a week off.

We had a good evening sitting in the open air, watching the sun set and listening to some new and familiar swing tunes.

Great value for 90 minutes live music entertainment and will be booking a return vist for another evening soon.

We went to one of the summer brass band concerts held at the bandstand and had a fantastic time! Although we were definitely among the youngest in the audience, we thoroughly enjoyed the music and the fireworks at the end were lovely.

Perhaps if we had paid £7:00 to sit in the enclosed area, the music would have sounded better, however, sitting at a near-by bench, we were able to hear the music. The Wednesday '1812-firework display' was not worth the 2 hour wait after the so-so music. However, it was free and with great views from our bench so, better entertainment than the hotel was offering. Take a blanket or fleece as can get chilly.

Love this open air concert - when it got dark we were dancing in the rain it was a great night out. Very reasonable and the bar was well stocked and priced. Would do it all again.......
