It would have been a shame if the Pier was demolished after the fire a few years ago. Thankfully it is fully renovated and they put many picnic desks on it - take your lunch on a sunny day and enjoy!

It's come in for a lot of criticism due to new ownership but I think it's great

The pier is a beautiful place. Lovely walks by the sea, shops, bars, everything you would expect from a normal pier. There are places to eat and drink, arcade games for children and young people and ice cream parlours etc.

The views are stunning and I would say this is a great day out :)

The Victorian Tea Room on Eastbourne Pier offers a good cream tea. The service is good and the views towards Beachy Head are spectacular. The prices are reasonable.

I thought this was a lovely pier, I went with my 12 year son, the Victorian tea room was delightful a gorgeous chandelier and plenty of seating ( we didn't eat so can't comment)
Plenty of seating on the pier , clean and a modest amount of amusements

Eastbourne is one of the unspoilt seaside towns of yesteryear & no walk along the seafront is complete without a stroll around the pier! It a must to view the promenade & out to see.

Having been in Eastbourne for most of the Summer, I finally got round to visiting Eastbourne Pier. I think it is fabulous! I thought that it was going to be a bit "Kiss me quick" with loads of slot machines, and candy floss etc. I was completely wrong. It is very pleasant indeed. I really like the music that is played, good old 80's songs. I had enjoyed the distant sound of the music all Summer, from the beach! Although it was a very chilly October day when I visited, the sun was shining, and reflected off the glass of the main tower. It was therefore quite a sun trap on the 'sunny' side of the end of the Pier. The view from the Pier is excellent, and watching the sea below was great. My only criticism is the plethora of signs saying "Don't do X , Y and Z ". A bit off putting. The Victorian Tea Rooms are a lovely feature. Thoroughly recommend!

The pier has retained much of its old charm. A few tourist style shops. excellent tea room, did not like the modern bar as it was out of keeping with the rest of the pier. Views back to the beach were wonderful with large breaking waves due to the rough weather.

We were lucky to have some glorious late autumn sunshine. The pier is just what it should be a bit worn around the edges but still with a bit of that old world charm. The ice cream was really creamy!!

I went on the pier on my mobility Scooter and it was very easy to negotiate.
I particularly like the old English tearoom which served traditional afternoon tea in a beautiful environment.
Sheikh Gulzar the owner has tried to keep the pier traditional.
I would like to see evening shows on it though.
Well worth a visit. These old piers need to be kept alive as part of our heritage

Visited Eastbourne again, went on the Pier again. Small row of shops provide range from stick of rock to glass blowing. Wife buys jars of preserves and delicate glass ornaments for presents. Fish and Chips are excellent, Victorian tea room good for a sit down with a cup of tea and the Bar at the end even had a real ale pump. On a beautiful day you can while away many hours, enjoy some good old fashioned hospitality and service and have fun in the arcade!

Pier is full of history, at the end a jetty where steam ships used to go to Brighton. There was fire damage to part of the pier which still can be seen

The new owne4 has done a excellent job of renovating the pier. The fire that demolished part of the structure has now been restored has a open plan. Painting of all the railings and new seating has made the pier very new. The gold paint on some of the structures adds much to the pier. We would urge anybody visiting Eastbourne to visit the pier with it's shops and a great Victorian teashop where you can eat and drink in style. Best of all it's free. Central to Seafront and the buses to Beachy Head on the open top bus is right outside the main entrance.

My wife and myself traveled down to Eastbourne by train on a brilliant sunny warm day. A bit of sightseeing shopping and a bite to eat and drink. Walked down to the front and onto the pier, lots to see arcades, shops, bar and eateries and views. People sunbathing weather on 10th October very warm indeed a good day out.

This is a good pier when you're actually walking on it but it is just as good from a distance. The gold dome shimmers in the sunshine and is reflected in the sea.

We visited Eastbourne on business but arrived a day early to look around very nice beaches and promenade with bedding plants in full bloom and some looking a bit sorry but as it the end of the season we didnโ€™t mind we walked along the pier & were a bit disappointed the pier was in a sorry state the original lampposts were broken some were still in tack but others had modern spot lams attached the wrought iron seating along the edge weโ€™re thickly overprinted and some had just sheet metal for seats the buildings on the pier were in dire need of rebuilding as the wooden structures have been rotting away we went in the amusements but half the machine werenโ€™t working properly it was very disappointing and a shame for such a prominent structure to be left unrestored for the future and disappear
