What a pleasant pier there is at Eastbourne! We went early evening when quite a few people as well as us, were taking a stroll to the end of the pier. The view of the shore was terrific and we were able to sit and read our books without excessive noise or disturbance.

End of pier shut off where the bar was., we were looking for the amusement arcade, found a few small ones. The one we chose I couldn’t get in as in a wheelchair and it wouldn’t go through the door and we couldn’t get the other door open , no one around to ask. Quite a few of the machines were out of order, grandson most disappointed. The front of the pier is spacious with plenty of picnic tables. Nice tea rooms in the middle section.

As with all piers they cater for all. A well looked after pier. There’s a Victorian Tea Room on there and lots of other food outlets there and of course amusements at the end. Worth a visit.

It’s a nice walk up the pier but there is not much to do.
Club and Jazz bar at the end, couple of shops and some amusement.
Worth visiting though just for the walk and views of Eastbourne.

My wife and I were on holiday in Eastbourne and went for a walk on the pier during our stay. It is not the longest of piers however it is a pleasant walk with lots of seating for people watchers to rest on. Victorian Tea Room to take refreshment about half way down however the very end of the pier seems to be shut off for some reason.
The good thing about this pier is that it has not succumbed to having loud and garish amusements and bouncy castles etc.every few feet and whilst there is a small amusement area near the entrance this was not too obtrusive and not noisy at the time we visited early in the day.
Entry is also free, a rare event nowadays. Well worth a wander down Memory Lane.

Wasn't much going on when we walked right to the end of the pier it seems to have shut part of it down. There's a fancy tea room that was reasonably priced but not much else to do although it was quite early when we visited around 10.30am so maybe we were to early.

Victorian cafe very smelly maybe do away with carpet! Other stalls of average standards but pier is beautiful shame attractions on it do not match.

The pier is clean pleasantly maintained and central but could do with a wider choice of old fashioned amusement games e.g. guess the roulette ball colour or donkey colour that's going to win. Rather then just the existing pier amusements.

Everyone visiting Eastbourne must take a walk along the pier, although not as glam as Brighton there is a great bar in the centre where they play Jaz in the summer months.

It is a must visit in Eastbourne. The view to the beach is nice and there is a nice place for afternoon tea.

From the outside this iconic sight, restored after a fire, looks beautiful. I was told by locals they'd raised the money for the restoration, then it had been sold.

As soon as you step off the seaside path you're assailed by game arcades. A little further down is a gift shop (closed when I was there) and a cafe (just closing, so didn't get to try it).

Yet more arcades... and more... then the end of the pier is terribly under-utilised. There's a "jazz cafe" which didn't, as I expected, have a jazz band or any sort of band. It did however play good music and serve spirits at decent prices, so a nice enough place but one that could be made so much better with a bit of thought.

Alongside that is a nightclub (!!) A complete waste of a beautiful and unique site by situating a business that could be run in any location - even a windowless warehouse.

There appeared to be no access to the rest of the building or the dome, nor even around to the back of the building, which was fenced off with ugly "temporary" crowd barriers.

The new owner was gifted a treasure, and he's buried it. Very disappointing.

Beautiful place peaceful; tranquillity and nice for family's; if you want to hear the band sounding while you roasting in the sun, this is the place to visit ..it wasn't crowded at all but it was a pleasant day to stay .Nice fish and chips too. But variety of street food and restaurants all type ..Not much fun for the little ones but that made this seaside special and more QUIET. if you want have a walk to the beach or kayak . Unfortunately no sand just pebbles so better bring a small chair or strong mat so you can lie down .Overall nice weather and memorable time .

Unfortunately the far end of the pier was out of bounds when we visited so we were unable to walk right round as we had done before but it was still enjoyable. There are plenty of seats from which to enjoy the views of the sea and people watch or to enjoy an ice cream. There's also a lovely restaurant serving teas/coffee and meals right in the centre of the pier, a gift shop, a beautiful glass gift shop and a confectionery shop selling delicious ice cream, a must whatever the weather.

It's free to go on the pier and well worth a visit.

Lovely old pier had a tender makeover but still captures the charm of a bygone time.
Sweet shop to get your teeth into, glass shop and wonderful glass sculptures.
Sovernier shop full of nick nacks.
Lovely warm day at the seaside.

The pier has been part of many of our histories in Eastbourne, with the arcade when we were younger and Dixieland later and finally Atlantis. Sad we lost the the main dome but they have done a good job at the space remaining. However, Eastbourne has a great heritage all it's own, NOT lions and gold. Typical bloody ego based additions. Pathetic

A great place to sit and relax on a sunny day. Shops are not as attractive as those in busy Pier but good enough for a relaxing day.

Why o' Why do we have to have such a wonderful structure ruined by a hall full of garish noisy gaming machines, perhaps I am getting a little grumpy ☹️as I get older, Se' la vie. It is worth a stroll along for some sea air.

The pier is a great place to sit and take in the views on a sunny day. Nice jazz music playing while we ate our fish & chips. Few little arcades & shops along the pier as well as a Victorian tea room.

I have not visited Eastbourne Pier since May 2015 - 9 months after the fire when, in my review, I thought that renovation was slow. Now, 3 years later, I see little has changed.
