Hat's of to the ownwer! Despite being frustrated by 'local' councils who probably never been to the seafront, this pier is slowly becoming a great asset/attraction to Eastbourne. I luved the gold reflecting the sunshine.

This is the E’bourne pier and like many piers is a tourist attraction. Centrally located along the seafront it is a lovely pier and the “golden” domes set it off really well. Has activities and entertainment and telly nice attraction on the sea front.

You can never go to the seaside without visiting the pier! Loved the “bowl” shape of the pier as you first walked along the traditional planks. Also the arrangement of the seating added to the ambiance. This then tapered into the traditional walkway but led onto a concrete base which had a smoking area, which is very unusual to find on piers in this country. Towards the end there were the amusements, a must on any pier.

Since the brutal fire in 2014 that consumed much of the decking and the ballroom which previously housed the ill-fated arcade machines (one of which caused the fire) the Pier is a shadow of its former self. I applaud the new private owner Sheik Abid Gulzar who also owns the Albany Hotel (as part of the Lions Hotel chain), who aims to restore the Pier to its former glory but this is taking its time. It will be an expensive undertaking. You can still see the ferocity of the fire from the melted lamp posts at the land end of the Pier as a stark reminder of how far it has come.

I'm not sure I personally like the repainting of the copper domes and the "lamp post lions" in Mr Gulzar's trademark Gold but it really is a small price to pay for someone stepping-up and taking care of such an iconic structure with so much history. After all, Piers are notoriously hard to make a profit from and history is no guarantee of future performance.

I recommend you pop along and take a look. It's free and hopefully year on year there will be more and more to do and see on this extraordinary historic structure. who doesn't love a pier?

Always a good place to go to when it's sunny. I love this place better than Brighton only for the reason that it's less crowded and peaceful.

It's 10 mins walk from the station and there are many restaurants around the pier. I loveeeeeeeeee everything about eastbourne and this is always my choice for staycation

Went on the pier and it was superb the weather was very wet and windy but it didn't spoil the trip one bit the shops on the pier were great and the staff in the shops were very friendly we went in the rock shop and bought rocks that we couldn't get anywhere else

We've all seen the pier, had fish and chips and maybe even the odd pint at the 1901 bar.
But last year we tied the knot in the Ocean Suite at the end of the pier.
The views are breathtaking, and makes for unforgettable wedding photographs.
We had our entire day, from the ceremony, through to the wedding breakfast into the evening buffet all in one location.
The staff were all great, very friendly and nothing was too much.
I could not recommend the ocean suite and Eastbourne pier enough for your big day, or just for a visit.

You can see this pier from miles. It was calling me to go there to check it out for sure. There is no entrance fee which was a surprise. It was a nice place to enjoy the open air and sea after a hike. There are places to eat, souvenir shop s and places to play games so kids too will be kept busy. Loved to feed the sea gulls all my chips (unfortunately we not nice at all so glad to give them away). Had fun being here. Definitely want to be here again.

We usually stop at the Eastbourne Pier at the end of our hike from Seaford. They have games, as well as a few places to grab a bite. Must see if you are in Eastbourne!

Unusually no entrance fee to a pier. Was there on a windy day and it was bracing at the end, but how good it felt! Good coffee shop, amusements were fun and cheap and some interesting shops. Great morning there

Nice to see it seems as good as new after the fire. We only had a stroll round it because being January it was quite cold

Visited on Friday 20th October. This is a majestic pier well maintained and a pleasure to visit. It was quiet on the day we visited but can imagine during warmer months it would be packed with people enjoying themselves. If your into old piers this is one of the best still surviving today and a must see.

I went in january so was made slightly miserable by the weather. The pier is well maintained compared to others, and offers pretty much the same type of thing, gift shops, cafe and an amusement arcade. The amusements were slightly lacking and it was a shame that the bigger structure at the end of the pier was taken up as a pub and nightclub.

Nice promenade leading to the pier however, which has a number of plants and is again well maintained. They do have music in the summer months at an open air veranda

It is a beautiful place to visit especially early in the morning. There is no entrance fee unlike many others! Stunning surrounding buildings. If you haven't visited the place, you should.

Eastbourne Pier is one of my favourite piers around the world. The design of the pier and the surrounding buildings look beautiful with the beach and the sunshine. People there are nice and I had so many beautiful memories in Eastbourne. Taking a walk down the road along the beach is just so enjoyable.

Fantastic that the pier has been repaired and given a new lease of life so soon after it was tragically damaged by the blaze.
With many original feature in place - it's a must to look across this wonderful piece of coastline.
Piers are so important and it's hardly likely we will get new ones, so I figure we need to treasure them and use them well.
Plus what trip to the seaside is complete with the statuary fish and chips and a stick of rock

Eastbourne pier has been one of the town's main attractions for many decades, for the many millions of visitors and it's local residents, especially outside holiday seasons, when varied entertainment in town was few and far between. Boasting not only large amusement arcades, but a wide range of kiosks and a kicking night club, The pier offers speed boat rides too. A must see if you're visiting for the day, or staying a while longer!

One regret as a result of the (post fire) modernisation of the pier, (I was recently informed) that fishing was no longer permitted from the pier.

Despite the one regret, I wouldn't hesitate recommending everyone add Eastbourne's Pier to their "Must Do" list.

Recently rebuilt after burning down the big ballroom which used to house video games etc is sadly missing. Interesting little shops on pier plus a bar at the end and a chip shop on the land end is worth a visit too.
