The owner has done a great job in rebuilding the pier after the fire of a few years ago. plenty on there now to do and keep the kids happy or just sit and enjoy the sea air. Just wish you were allowed to fish from the end of the pier or from the lower deck at the end of the pier. The good thing is there is no enterance fee, its free!

It was quiet in the morning when I visited and it is nice to walk around but it is pretty much as the piers I have seen so far. There are some souvenir shops and places to get food, I think there is also a club at the end of the pier. It will be nicer on a sunny day to eat something out and listen to the music.

A old fashioned pier with modern attractions. Plenty of places to eat - from cafes to restaurants. They were carrying out painting and maintenance, ready for the Easter Hoildays, to the pier structure during our vist

The pier is a pier, lovely and like a lot of piers, a few decent seats, some arcades, sweet shop, gift shop. We visited the tea room on the pier and it was expensive and service was slow. Disappointed by the over priced coffee. The staff when they did come were polite and well turned out.

Was a little cold on my visit but it was a clear day. The pier is a lovely walk with a club at the end. Their are some nice little gift shops and tea room. Would be great to return in the summer.

Quite and peaceful, nice place for walk and enjoy the sunshine. There has some small casino rooms and a bar on the pier, can have fun and drink, which is good. We enjoy the sitting sun with beer here. Nice holiday. :)

I love a good pier and we thought Eastbourne pier was great. There has been controversy over the painting of the domes gold...really? We thought they looked good. Worth a stroll.

Nice to see the pier painted and back in use after the terrible fire a few years back Despite the critcism over the domes, we love the gold paintwork and feel that they improve its image. We are grateful to the new owner for bringing such an important landmark back into use. We have been travelling to Eastbourne for nearly 50 years and believe that the pier has never looked better.

This pier has recently been refurbished by a local businessman (Sheikh Gulzar) and he seems to have brought it back to life. As well as the usual amusements there is a Fish and Chip shop,a Night Club, Victorian Tea Rooms and a Pub(?) called the Jazz Lounge plus lots of seating and tables. It is free to enter. He obviously has a good sense of humour, as you leave there is a sign that states "Thank you for visiting Sheikhs Pier" (think about it)

My sister and I stayed in hotel across the road from the pier. This is a well maintained pier in all it's Victorian splendour with a wonderful tearoom (recommend the cream tea)

Still worth a visit purely from the historical point of view, but it feels as if it has lost a little of what it was. Maybe because part of it burned down and has not been replaced. Don't know. Just doesn't feel/look as 'friendly' as it used to. Feels shabbier than it used to. Shopkeepers etc still as nice and helpful as ever.

We enjoyed a nice stroll along the pier last weekend, which is looking much better than a couple of years ago, but there is still much restoration to be completed. It was March so there wasn't much activity on it, but hopefully that will be better in the summer season. Looks nice in the sunshine, although the cracked glass in the door of the 'Incident Control Office' didn't fill us with confidence that it's an incident - free area!!

It's an old fashioned British pier with amusements. It was March when we visited and it was very windy so not too many braved the wind. The amusements are as you'd expect. The pier is being refurbished and much has already been painted. It should look very nice indeed in the sun. It was open on Sunday evening until 9pm but Monday it closed around 7pm. It's always great to walk out to sea and keep your feet dry. Good view back along the beach. A pier comes into it's onw in the summer when more seating will be available if it's the same as last year.

The pier has be restored and even in the wind and rain it looked really nice as we walked along the front. Well worth visiting to see the shops and admire the restoration and look out over the sea.

Not much going on at this time of year. Had a nice hot drink in the jazz pub at the end of the pier which was really lovely inside with big old armchairs but everything else was closed apart from a few small rooms with arcades. This place has huge potential but just seems like a big empty pier! I'm sure there is a lot more going on in the summer months! Still worth a wander along.

A most enjoyable evening, with dinner. There were a number of local VIPs who addressed the diners. Lots of improvements completed, & more in the pipeline elsewhere on the Pier.
