Haven't been on the pier since the fire, there has been a lot of repairs, the walk way has been renewed with a new wooden floor, not so many gaps in the flooring so no more looking down to see the sea and realising how high up you are (unless you look over the side), that was one of the things that always 'frightened' children when they were younger. The arcade has gone and in it's place is a much smaller unit, all metal has been repainted. Hopefully there will be a number of 'units' going back in situ other wise apart from the Victorian Tea rooms, money arcade and the units when you first walk on to the pier there is not an awful lot going on. However, it was a nice bracing walk to the end of the pier (no fishing going on). If there was an entrance charge I don't think I would bother.

My friend hired the ocean suite, it is very pleasant although the bar is a little pricey. The pier itself is lovely I actually think that the new owner has done a good job and the golden domes look lovely. I will definitely be inquiring when I want to hold a large party.

We had a nice afternoon in Eastbourne and had to visit the pier which didn't disappoint as a god old traditional favourite. It was good to see some things hadn't changed but at the same time it was still catering for the younger generation

A stroll along the pier is a must when visiting Eastbourne from the gift shops to the great Victorian Tea rooms with its fabulous chandeliers. The service is very good as is the food.

We had last visited this pier for our anniversary weekend and had the misfortune to watch part of it burn to the ground. It was a very shocking time as we watched from a small amount of smoke to being engulfed in flames. We visited again this year and was pleased to see a brand new walkway had been built and the pier was being restored to better than before. Lovely tearooms and lovely seating areas. Worth a visit.

About 300 yards from the hotel the Pier, since the Arcade burn't down that area has been cleared into a large walk area, the end of the Pier is delightful with sitting and eating area ( not open when we were there 10 am ) a very nice Pier, free entrance.

It's so beautiful later in the day as the sun lights up the gold roof and illuminates all the white structures. A photographer's dream. Once you get there, it's your typical summer beach scene - souvenirs, fried food, etc. But walk all the way to the end and you feel like you're in another place. Lovely.

Hate the gold, this is England not India. Lack of things to do.

We like walking on piers and this one was very good. Still a bit of a work in progress as part of a big refurbishment but still well worth a visit --- and don't miss the restaurant with is glittering chandeliers and very reasonably priced fair.

We have never been to Eastbourne before, We found the sea and the Prom was lovely, very clean, i bet lovely in the summer with the flower beds and lots of lighting, so must look great at night. We came across the pier and didnt realise that there had been a fire there, lots of space on the pier, clean, cute shops, Things could be better though, we don't need to see large dustbins at the entrance to the pier they can be closed away i am sure, also would be nice to have deck chairs like Brighton pier, but as it was October may not be available.

Nice to have a stroll on the pier in the warm shine and the odd ice cream also to surrender a few coppers in to slot machines for a few minutes fun, the walk is all good exercise

What a lovely restoration, done in style. In fact, it was not possible for us to see which part was burned down. We were here in October after visiting Eastbourne just before the fire in 2014. This time (October 2016) we were not really at the hight of the season but it was still lovely to walk around the Pier. Lovely souvenir shop, and all in all a nice part of Eastbourne.

I went here on a date, It's quite a nice pier, very windy! we had donuts at the kiosk at the front on the left. A few shops, nothing
massively interesting.

The pier is in the final part of a long process of restoration. It is almost there and provides an excellent opportunity to see the best of a traditional pier (when finished even a camera obscura). There are excellent opportunities for eating. Just look at the chandeliers in the cafe. Other places offer snacks and there are some rides there. A small slot machine hall and some varied souvenir shopping. But above all it is the view and feeling of almost being afloat at high tide. Lovely in the sunset, even in October. When leaving try to spot the dounble meaning in the name of the pier.

The Pier used to be cluttered with little kiosks and a large 'gaming' area - this has changed and there are now picnic tables and a few kiosks as well as a nice tea room. A pleasure to stroll around the Pier.
