Was in Eastbourne for only a couple of hours and it was a pleasure to take a stroll on this attractive old pier and admire the views back to the town on a fine, sunny Autumn day.
It has been sensitively restored and has an elegant, 'retro' feel like the pier at Worthing along the coast.
It is slightly less 'family-friendly' than the very large Palace Pier in Brighton as it has no funfair and a smaller amount of 'amusements', but is therefore more attractive to the genteel.

So much history, the Victorian Tea Rooms is amazing, even if you don't want to have a tea, coffee etc, at least look in. Views at sunset along the coast are stunning

It's a lovely place to stroll and get good views of Eastbourne. There are plenty of seats everywhere and a couple of nice little shops for browsing.

Beautiful site with tea room, pub, nightclub and even a glass shop where they make the glass inside but very windy as its autumn would definately revisit in summer

There is something about seaside piers that always appeals.
Our ancestors in the glorious black and white days used to take the sea air dressed in their finery and pose a little awkwardly for the camera. How times have changed.
This is one pier that has certainly survived the test of time and natural disasters.
Just go on Youtube and type in Eastbourne fire to see for yourself all the drama.
Thankfully no one was harmed but the pier took a pounding and so did the owners.
Its with grateful thanks that it has been carefully restored and maintained for us to enjoy now a days. It is beautifully painted and kept when many other piers struggle to survive. The usual flashy coin in the slot machines feature prominently but gift shop/ specialist shops are there to help you spend your money.
The glass shop is well worth a visit and has very inexpensive items for sale. Watch them being made!
The walk to the end to look down at the brown/grey sea does not exactly remind you of the Caribbean but who cares. If its August time or January blow the cob webs away and enjoy the pier. Its free after all, gone are the days of a turnstile operated by what looked like a uniformed sailor who took your old penny toll. What can be better than that?

A lovely pier nice seating area at the end of the pier would be lovely in the summer, cafe and restaurant looked nice but not open the time we were there, as we walked on pier after breakfast at our hotel. Did not notice if it had any coin machines, so it would be a quite walk or drink on this pier. A few little nik nak shops there as well.

I guess it is Winter time, maybe there are more things to do in the summer. We had a nice walk along the seaside, ended up in a nice little cafe, while the sun was still shining. Got to the pier and went on some amusements. There is a fish and chip place. But apart from that, that is it! There is the wish tower but it wasn't open when we got there (not near the pier I should point out). All hotels on the seafront, no shops/amusements. If you have children much better to go to Great Yarmouth or Kent coasts.

this pier has been recently had a makeover due to fire in the past, very clean good tea room and lovely views on a good day.If you like eastbourne then you will like the pier. It has been renovated by the same guy who owns the lions hotel in burlington place you cannot miss his properties as they have items painted gold on them also he owns gold vehicles, also the pier is FREE to walk on,not like many others we have visited.

Delighted to see the majority of the pier well restored and good to see so many people enjoying it. Added bonus met the Sheik who had the pier restored, and I think the golden domes are great!

This is a must if you are in Eastbourne, it feels wonderful to walk along the water and feel the sea breeze from both sides. We stopped in for a cup of tea and enjoyed the service and environment. Fun!

The current owner of Eastbourne Pier has done a superb job in putting life back into the burnt-out building. The golden domes, despite some objections from a minority, look beautiful. They look particularly impressive when showing off the glow of the sun on a blue-skied day - an ideal emblem for the sunshine coast!
Paying a visit to the Pier is well worth it. I can only say, "Have a peer at the Pier".

We always have a walk along the pier when in Eastbourne whatever the weather. Nice to see there are a few amusements 'shops' that have been added since our last visit. Made our sons day.
