As has been noted in other reviews the tower of the pier looks like a mosque. There are still one or two shops on the pier. Unfortunately most of the others have been turned into amusement arcades.

The guy that brought this place has done a great job in bringing back the piers splendour, the gold tops to the towers look so in keeping with the rest of the structure. hopefully the pier will attract more business as the years go on

There has been a lot of debate since the flamboyant owner took it over, especially when he painted the domes and embellishments gold, but it makes me smile. It is being restored, and is a popular place for people to walk on, have tea or something stronger, or play the machines. I look forward to the camera obscura being reopened.

Love this place as its not changed in years but is still as fresh as it was years ago. Small shops, amusements and a good walk with great views.

Fabulous pier, beautiful scenery by day, pleasant walks and the weather was smashing. By night, the promenade was lit up spectacularly and it was a joy to walk up and down the street listening to the waves

The walk from our hotel to the pier was wonderful. It was a bright and sunny day. When we got to the pier, we were greeted by a choir group outside and as we walked in, a lovely fish and chips shop on your right and a coffee shop on your left. The walk around the pier was fascinating as we could get deep out to sea without actually having to tread on water. Lovely with little amusement centres to keep the kids occupied and happy. A Victoria Tea Shop is also there for those who fancy having their scones! Lovely pier and a must experience.

Good and bad things. Pier looks freshly painted and was mostly clean. Towards the end it was a bit grotty with quite a few cigarette packets and rubbish.

A couple of little shops and an afternoon tea room which looked nice, but otherwise there's not a great deal there. Nice for a ten minute stroll around, with good views along the coastline but a few new additions wouldn't harm at all.

Piers do not fill me with excitement but this is one of the nicer ones. I did like the glass blower on this one. He had very reasonably priced gifts on sale and it is fascinating watching the craftsmen/women working with the glass

The newly refurbished pier is wonderful. Lovely new boardwalk with plenty of space, places to bide awhile and admire the views. Love the gentle glamour of gold domes and pinnacles, a refreshing experience, good for the soul.

Took my wife to the tearooms as part of her birthday treat. I paid £18 for full afternoon tea for the two of us and we really enjoyed. My wife said it helped make her birthday. Would visit again when next in Eastbourne.

Beautiful to look at when we wake up in the morning. In fact seeing it lit up at night is great. Long with lots of things to do. Suitable for adults, children and families. A must for Eastbourne visitors.

Regenerated seaside pier. Clean, lots of seats, a lovely coffee/tea/food restaurant, pub, attractions for kiddies. Typical seaside pier, wonderful views out to sea.

Full credit is due to Mr Gulzer chairman of the Lions Group Eastbourne.
Since taking over the Eastbourne Pier, Mr Gulzer, the Lions Group have wasted no time in transforming a tired looking pier into a welcoming pier for all, upon entering the pier it is family friendly, with various rides for children, previously one had to hunt the pier for a safe seating area, the Lions group have installed dozens of family friendly seating tables.
As you wonder through the various interesting different shops, you come across a charming tea room, that serves splendid cakes, tasties with good coffee or a pot of tea.
The Lion group have installed a modern night club, upon entering you are entering a different world!
At the far end of the pier there are many peaceful seating areas, there is even a conference room for over 100, with its own catering section, over looking the coast to Beachy head, this particular venue is the perfect place for that special occasion.

On one else has dedicated so much time and effort to Eastbourne.

Well worth a visit

Born from the ashes of the fire, this has now been totally rebuilt with several excellent features.
It is free to wander around (and you should) and open from dawn to dusk. There are wide open spaces and spots for the children to play.
There are tea rooms, a licensed venue which also offers a wedding location and views around the town.
You can still see some of the old pier in places but with the new construction this should last for some time.

We love piers most for their view of the town they offer and Eastbourne Pier did not disappoint us. The restaurant did look lovely also but alas, we did not have time to stop there.

Overall this is a brilliant place to visit.

There are a couple of shops on the pier (glass and sweets) and a fish and chip shop (which is lovely!)

The Victorian tea room is well worth a visit! The sandwiches are lovely and the cakes delicious!

We are definitely planning to visit again and are in the process of booking a hotel for next year!

Free, clean and it allows the view to speak for itself.
The pier extends over gorgeous turquoise sea and the water visibility I about 2.5m, incredibly for UK.
BRINGING MY FISHING ROD NEXT TIME.
