Walked along the Pier during the Airbourne weekend. I was quite surprised at how much effort and investment the new owner has put into the pier.I quite liked the Golden Domes, it is clear the Pier will be restored to its former glory. There was no obvious signs of the fire from a few years ago. There were plenty of new seats and tables for people to it on. The view of Eastbourne, Beachy Head and Pevensey Bay is really good from the Pier and well worth the walk.

The Tea room looked particularly opulent and inviting.

A nice and easy walk along the pier giving excellent views of Eastbourne and the Downs, plenty of room and not over crowded. Ample catering facilities

Clean and tidy with still that vintage charm despite the fire damage. Went and had tea in the victorian tea room which was lovely and the glass studio is well worth a visit. Brought a lovely glass ornament of two birds with flowers and 'love'. Plenty of places to sit down and a lovely view of the beach.

Nothing to do or see, well, just sea. Sad, empty place. It was sunday evening, after 6 so maybe thats why there was nothing open, however, there was not much to be open anyway.

We visited the pier, after hearing a discussion on the radio regarding the "sheikhs pier" wasn't really sure what to expect.

The pier is being repainted it looks very smart and yes there are a few golden lion heads on the lamp posts, can't see the problem with that. There is a beautiful Victorian tea room on the pier and also a glass shop with beautiful intricate flowers made from glass well worth a visit.

We visited the Pier at Eastbourne after it has been re-opened following fire damage last year.
We found the pier very pleasant to walk along now with a great open feel to the new wood decking flooring now laid and a great improvement now all the flashing gambling machines have disappeared that caused the fire in the first place.

A beautiful traditional seaside pier. My son enjoyed the funfair & amusement arcade. I loved the gift shop & glass blowing shop. We all enjoyed the ice-creams!

We visited on a sunny day - the pier was incredibly busy with families, particularly the food outlets and arcades. We had a nice time and enjoyed the views but were a bit disappointed by some of the provision. The arcades were heaving but offered limited prizes and provision and the drinks outlets were expensive. I suppose that it should be expected!

Eastbourne Pier has been done up and I saw a tv item where the locals were complaining that it was too gaudy. The gold on the domes and railings for example. But we loved it, it's very attractive and clean, and there are a couple of lovely places to eat, including a Victorian tearoom with chandelier, great stuff. The owner is from the Middle East and claims to be a Sheik. We loved his parting sign "thanks for visiting Sheik's Pier". The man has a sense of humour.

Considering that there are now only 50 piers left in the UK, it's nice to see this one. It has all the usual shops an places to eat along with a traditional tea room and of course offers a view of the sea front.

Great to see that this traditional pier has been saved from last year's fire. Decent tea & cake establishment on pier, good views over town & along sea front. Night club at end of pier - untested !

walked along the refurbished pier on a beautiful summer eve and it was lovely. All freshly painted and new tables and chairs. New decking at the end so plenty of places to sit and watch the sea. There are a few shops and cafes which are quirky especially the victorian tea rooms ( which were closed but have visited on a previous trip)
Overall a lovely pier.

We visited the Pier when it was burnt to the ground and were very distressed to see it looking so bad. we returned to this last week and walked along it. however, it appears that there are no where near the amount of attractions as there were as it appears that these were lost in the fire. it was disappointing for us but we understand. needs more attractions.

When we visited there was a group of people in a band putting on a little show there ans I would like to see alot more of that type of ting as it is a quite quiet pier to visit.

My first ever visit to Eastbourne, and within walking distance of many many hotels. I was disappointed that the camera obscura was being refurnished, as I would have like to have seen the view across the sea from the height. My daughter was impressed with the pier, especially for the Pokemon go characters she could collect at the location, and the amusement arcades. Nobody seems to have mentioned the glass object/florist shop. I bought a beautiful ornament at a very reasonable price on the pier. More piers need to be like this (updated and freshly painted).

Just spent a day at Eastbourne. Have not been there for several years, so was a bit apprehensive - but....... delighted to find such a lovely seaside. Dropped off at Pier. The Pier was spotlessly clean and being painted.... There were wooden slatted tables and stools for picnics and the seating round the edges of the Pier were being painted blue/white. The main building was painted gold on the roof and looked a bit like a mosque, but never the less. And it was FREE admission... There was a restaurant at the end of the Pier. The Prom was clean and the gardens beautiful. Not too busy. There was a lovely Bandstand that was used weekly and a Theatre further along on the opposite side of the road. The only down side was the lack of nice places to eat along the Prom. There was a café that did sandwiches/cakes and snacks, but nowhere on the 'Front' where you could have a nice meal. The only places I did find was, Harry Ramsdens..... and another Fish/Chips place at the entrance to the Pier (not everyone wants to eat Fish and Chips even if there are by the sea). But nice safe place for families.

Good to see that despite the fire, the pier is still up and running. I can even cope with the new owner's obsession with gold, but for the life of me cannot see why he has banned fishing form the pier.

Unfortunately parts of the pier were closed off for resturation work, so we couldn't get out to the end. but its still worth an amble out as far as you can go.

Nice for walk. Not sure about the club and bar at the end of it. Arcade could also do with an upgrade .

We visited this weekend and the weather was fantastic so the views from the pier were great. That being said it is a very short pier, took us about 15 minutes walking slowly to go up and down it. There's some picnic benches at the end and a few arcades, but not much else. The restaurants/cafes are very outdated, catering for the older generation that appreciate 50s decor I think. Needs some investment....Jamie Oliver need a project maybe? Could be perfect if it was snazzed up.

I was on the pier last Saturday which happened to be a beautiful day. The place was packed and buzzing.

I'm delighted to see the pier renewed and reconstructed by a local businessman. Well done sir! It's delightful again although the lovely old building is gone after the fire.

However, what's there now is great and I love the big gold dome. A bit of bling, what!

Plenty of things to do and see on the pier and the view is spectacular.

Long may it stand!

Looks well kept, decking is solid and wide, the front gate has small cafes in it that are not too pricy. Attraction's at the far end that looked busy.
