Eastbourne pier is a great way to laze around and had a fun afternoon. When the sun is out a stroll around the pier and taking in the views looking over towards beachy head and back to the town are fantastic.

It's a great place for all the family and has a nice atmosphere.

We've been to Eastbourne many times now. The Pier looks great, it's been rebuilt since the fire. There's a tea shop, fish & chip shop and other types of shops. There's also an arcade at the end of the pier. Lots of benches if you fancy a sit down along the pier!

Beautiful view of the coast. A couple of places to eat and a beautiful tea room in the center. Some touristy shops and a game room. Something for everyone.

This was mine and my boyfriends first time in Eastbourne. We had a little walk, had chips from the chip shop on the pier (it was ok.. frozen chips)?! Had a go in the amusements on the 2p machines. The couple in the gift shop were lovely and got some nice items to remind us of our lovely visit. It was a warm day so we sat on the beach for a while. It was lovely. Would recommend to others and hope to visit again soon as it's about 3 hours from home!

Walked along the pier, both sides, and whilst the vast empty expanse takes some getting used to the uncluttered feel is most welcoming. Instead of one huge amusement arcade, there are now four individual rooms which works very well. Some of the familiar shops are still here. The tea was ok but scones were rather small. However, a delightful setting. I think the Sheik is getting it right. Just waiting to see what else happens now. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately due to work commitments my visit was late in the evening after the cafes and restaurants had closed down. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and condition.

It's a pier. It has a chip shop, tea rooms, and excellent views of the sea and town and beach. Not too crowded today so easy to walk all the way out and back.

A clean, well kept pier that is worth a visit. There is a nightclub, tearoom, glass blower shop, fish & chip shop & a few others. Unlike other piers, the wooden planks you walk on are close together, meaning if you drop your keys, you might be lucky to retrieve them without them falling into the sea! Lovely views of the seafront hotels from the end. Best of all, its free to walk around it.

The pier does offer lovely views back over the town. But there is not much to entice you out into it sadly. It does make for a beautiful backdrop to the town though.

It is always compulsory to walk along any pier at a seaside resort and this is no exception. Beautiful old pier full of character which brings you as one with the sea swirling underneath. A beautiful tearoom on here which looked lovely, warm and inviting, but being full of couples looking romantic I didn't venture in, perhaps next time! I do hope the sheikh of Eastbourne nurtures this pier and keeps the tradition of being able to walk along the pier which is such a novelty to us folks who don't live close to the sea.

I remember seeing the TV news about the fire that destroyed the pier. Terrible damage.

Looking at it now the transformation is amazing. The restoration programme is ongoing as much of the structure needs replacing & reinforcing.

Hence the title: a Phoenix arises from the ashes.

With traditional English piers becoming something of an endangered species, it's fantastic to see one as beautifully maintained as this - every piece of paintwork gleams and walls and floor alike are spotless. All the shops were shut when we visited in the early evening, but it was still a pleasant place to saunter, and provided spectacular views along the Sussex and Kent coastline in both directions.

Free entry makes the trip worthwhile. You get a great view of Eastbourne, the Downs and the coast. Does not get a 5* because it needs more seats.

What a change and not for the better. Lots of the old charm has gone. Still great to be able to go out on the pier but not as good as it used to be.

Spent almost half a day on this wonderful Victorian pier, the tea rooms are something special, you should see the chandeliers!

On a positive note is it was free of charge, so worth a walk on the pier. But don't expect a great deal more. That's about all there is apart from a daytime cafe and a nightclub. The end of the pier is closed off because of damage. Probably more interesting once that's open again.

I was pretty excited to visited Eastbourne Pier. I was left quite disappointed. There is a bar, nightclub, small shops and a tea/coffee shop on the pier. But that is it really. It was a very nice walk however and gave me a very good view of the coast of Eastbourne. Brighton pier knocks socks of Eastbourne pier.
