Lovely to see the difference from Brighton Pier - loved that it did not have all the commercial activity of Brighton!

I went on May 31st and everything was shut but it was nice to walk up one side and down the other! The side looking towards Beachy Head is particularly nice.

I would imagine it would be nice in the height of summer when everything is open. There are no amusements though if you like that sort of thing

There is a nightclub at the end and the local public toilets are either side of the pier at the start.

Fun. He likes waves. There were waves. We smiled. We laughed. We cried. All in all. Very emotional. Highly recommend if you want to see waves. Full stop.

What a lovely pier to stroll along with views and plenty of seats to relax on.
We took a open top tour of Eastbourne and surrounding areas beachy head and beyond, well worth it a 45 min ride with lots of hop on n hop off places to visit also the ticket lasted 2 days good value for money.

Clean and tidy and great to see it's been restored after the fire, would recommend it as there are lots of tables and chairs to sit on

Went for our first trip along the pier today since it caught fire. Suprised that there is so much open space but a lovely walk. However their waterfront restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Clearly advertised all over the pier that "kids eat for a £1" when adults purchase a meal. But the staff said this offer was outdated and blamed lack of advertising change. Even so we decided to eat here on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The restaurant/pub was quiet although it seemed busy at times but people were simply just using the toilets. Bar staff were pretty evasive over everything we asked them. Even down to what larger they sold! Ordered food and was charged twice for one meal and the sides completely were forgotten. Spoke to the bar lady who refunded the meal cost (we decided that the error with the side dishes wasn't worth changing) food came out in good time.however it is cheap nasty motorway cafe style food. The fish and chips was straight out of a frozen food section in a supermarket not flavor and all batter. The burgers were rubbery and lacked flavor. Portion sizes were ok for the price. Got talking to a couple of other families at their tables and one had been served a beef dish instead of a vegetarian option! Another had had issues with staff and the quality of food. Drink prices were reasonable although the larger wasn't the nicest or the coldest. The atmosphere was drab. 4 tvs scattered around not one on! No music in background and the toilets were disgusting. The ladies smelt of urine and washing your hands felt like you were just putting more germs on them.over all a very rotten place for what could be an ideal spot on the pier to relax and eat with family and friends. When speaking to staff about issues you just felt like you were in the way and they really either had no idea how to help or couldn't be bothered. Would not recommend for food. But the pier should be given a go. A traditional pier and the market going on outside was lovely (only wish we had eaten from one of the stalls instead)

A lovely pier without the nasty penny arcades that blight most. Well maintained with lots of seating and a pleasant bar at the end. Probably more could be made of it, but this was the first sunny weekend of the season, so there's time yet.

Having visited the Pier cafe before and had a good cream tea a group of us decided to do it again. I visited the cafe and enquirer if it would be OK for a group of 20 to visit on a certain day, this was agreed and written in the book. A week before the due date I rang to confirm numbers and was told ' we don't take bookings and can't guarantee you can all sit together' . We decided to go ahead and visit. I wish we hadn't! The cream tea was awful. Gelatinous jam on a very small hard and dry scone. One lady was gluten free and there was nothing available for her to eat. Apart from that the walk along the pier was pleasant but not many shops open yet.

Nice Pier restored and shows some of a bygone era. Slow service in the end cafe but apart from that was a good walk around a good old english Pier.

Was good to come along the pier as last time we went to Eastbourne, the pier had set alight the month before and so was all closed off. The pier is nice and the little shops are nice - I quite liked the Eastbourne pier gift shop and the glass-making shop! Still prefer Brighton's pier for leisure.

Having had loads of the local 'Sheiks' dosh spent on it we were quietly surprised at how good a walk on this pier can be. It's not cluttered with tat, has a decent sized tea room, but with over-sized chandeliers, and some really interesting shops and lots of open spaces and seating.

Whether you're staying in Eastbourne, or just driving through, take time out to stroll the marvelous old Pier, restored to its former glory after fire damage. The bright blue and white painted railings and metal structure offset the wooden Boardwalk and jolly bunting flutters between the old lanterns lining the sides. Sweet shops and quaint seaside souvenirs tempt you along the way and golden spires overhead decorate the white like an elaborate outdoor 'Big Top'. Peer over the end out to sea towards the French coast and look back at the wide, stony beaches carved up by breakers and the pretty Victorian buildings that make up the seafront. A stroll to remember.

Despite all of it's recent woes the pier continues to exist and delight. It is traditional and comforting to visit.

I saw the Pier on fire on my way to school one morning in 1969. It was rebuilt and then again it burned down in 2014. It has been a landmark on the east coast for over a hundred years. I hope they rebuild it.

It is always splendid to go for a walk on the pier. Unfortunately almost all the attractions were closed mid-morning at the end of May. We understand that the camera obscure, which would be fun, is closed pending repair of a staircase.

We were in Eastbourne for a wedding and my grand-daughters were flower girls. I took them to the pier for ice-cream and we had a great time although it was very windy!

If you had to pay for entrance , you'd be disappointed by the pier. It could offer so much more than it does in the way of interesting little shops but you get the standard 'amusements' , ie spend your money in some machines , a few knick-knacky shops and a cafe.

However , it's always worth walking round it , you get good views of the seafront on either side and can compare the well kept old buildings with some of the awful newer ones which have been built beside them.

It's always a lot breezier on one side , but they do now have segregated smoking seats which helps.

Since the fire , the rebuilt deck looks very good now. If the owners were imaginative they could do something very interesting and attractive with the new space to encourage more footfall.

I walked along on a blustery evening about 7pm and everything was closed so it was rather sadly deserted. It would have been nice if the fish shop had at least been open!
Despite this, I thought it was very nicely done. You have great views of Eastbourne from it and it will certainly be worth visiting during the day time - there are souvenir shops and cafes which will be open then.
