I have always loved Eastbourne and the pier is obviously a lovely addition to the town, it did used to have arcades but unfortunately it got burnt down. Last time I visited I found this out and I was very upset, they are looking to rebuild it and hopefully it can stay standing for longer. Beautiful place.

Would be great in better weather but we happened to visit on probably the coldest day we've had in April for some time.

Pier is looking lovely after its refurbishment after the devastating fire. But I was very upset there is no penny arcade. I thought that was a norm in seaside towns with piers. !!!

Unfortunately a big downer on this pier is that dogs are not allowed onto it. We had to put our dog back into the car so we could go onto it which is free.
After the fire they have rebuilt it but there I still work under progesterone at the end of the pier so couldn't go to the end. There are some gift shops and a restaurant but not a lot else at the moment, still worth going for a visit just to say you've been onto it, but don't get too excited.

Even in out-of-season condition, this peir is worth a visit even if it is just to get a blast of fresh air into your lungs. The tea rooms with their oppulent chandeliers is worth a visit.

Went visit Eastbourne pier in April. Part of was closed for refurbishment and is look like abandoned place from scary movie. Bit disappointed specially for children. Apart that nice view, worth visit specially when fully open.

The pier is well maintained and a lovely location to spend a sunny afternoon looking and listening to the sea. Lovely way to spend an afternoon having a typical English fish and chips on the pier.

a lovely place to sit awhile and watch people come and go and the little café and the port holes where you can watch the workmen rebuilding the rest of the pier that burnt down and there is also a very good Fish & Chip Shop near the pier but the gift stop is Not Wheelchair Friendly.

A beautiful example of a classic Victorian seaside pier, a nice stroll along its deck boards. Penny arcades and ice cream parlours. Simply splendid.

Visited this pier several times. Its looking much better after a refurbishment and definitely has nice views of eastbourne. However its neither a historic simplistic pier or a fun fair attraction with arcades. Theres a club at the end for the students and some shops at the top. Not that impressed.

What was so nice about this pier is the fact that it has seating attached all around the pier's structure so that you could stop for a sit down at any time.

Unlike some, this pier is so pretty and nicely kept it was a pleasure to walk out on. Out of season not much was open but it is clear that in summer there are cafes, bars and even a club.

I'm glad to see that the Pier has been restored in quick order after the fire last year. However it needs something more than the Fish & Chip shop at the entrance and the handful of little shops along the boards. I'm not saying replace the amusements that were destroyed but it does need something to enhance the interest of a bracing walk around its length. You do, however, get a great view when you reach the end and see in the distance Hastings to the East and Beachy Head to the West. Turn round also to admire the stunning Eastbourne Promenades and Hotels. A wonderful walk on a warm summer's evening watching the sun fade away over the Downs.

The entrance to the pier was obviously in use for fish and chips etc, but although the pier itself was being well maintained nothing much was open at the far end and we couldn't walk all the way round plus the camera obscura which was signposted was not open nor were the upper walkways which would have given an interesting coastal view and a view back over Eastbourne and inland.

First visit on the pier since the fire. Repairs nearly completed although entrance a little bare huge space with only a few picnic tables. Walked to the end however was closed near the end unsure why. Would be nice to see a few more shops, ice creams, and some amusements.

So pleased to see the pier rebuilt, it is a gorgeous structure - a shame that the previous buildings haven't been recreated. Thank goodness the glass studio is still there, lovely glass animals and flowers, hand blown/made on the premises at extremely reasonable prices.

The pier is nice and repaired after a recent fire... but in fact you might not want to go further than the very fresh fish and chips at the entry to the pier. Buy a pack and wander along the pier eating them.
