If you visit Eastbourne you can't miss a walk on the Pier, especially in a sunny summer day :-)
Great view on both sides.

Shame there is some hoarding up on the pier but nice to walk along. Only thing missing is the amusements hoping that this will come back when the restoration is finished

The pier is being restored, so it is unfair to judge too harshly. It is free to walk around and you can donate to help the restoration if you want to. Not much to do in the evening, when we were there, but it does have a cafe open during the day. When restored I am sure it will be lovely.

The stoll around the pier was lovely, it's still under going repairs at the moment but there is still easy access and plenty to enjoy

Looking a little sad after last year's fire and much of it still closed off but obviously a lot of work going into the restoration. Fascinating to see how the lights fared in the fire - some intact with others showing varying degrees of fire damage

The titlle shall not be understood in a negative way, but because of a fire a huge part of the pier was missing. The missing part was the entry building which had been placed in the start of the pier. But the remaining part was certainly worth visiting. It is not to compare with the pier in Bristol which is all amusement and "cirkus". The remaining building on the pier contains restaurants, but we did not visit. At the end of the pier there were possibility to catch your own fish for the chips. Fishing rod could be rented if you did not bring your own.

Eastbourne was interesting to say the least - a huge mixture of old and new and there is obviously hard work continuing to bring the whole town into the 21st century. Very relaxing, friendly visit.

A Devine piece of history. I love just walking along listening to the sea bellow me and the seagulls above me. I always find myself pondering life here.

If a seaside has a pier you must visit it, Eastbourne pier is a nice sized pier and they are doing a wonderful job of renovating the fire damage on the pier. There is no charge to go on the pier but there is a gratuity box available.

One of the loveliest seaside piers in its heyday and it is so nice to see that it is being renovated and restored. I cant wait to see it when it is finished

I grew up in Eastbourne and moved away in my teens... I holidayed back there recently and was able to appreciate it so much more being older. The pier is my favourite place! Sat with a pint looking out over the ocean or looking down the busy promenade! Love it.

A must go place whilst visiting Eastbourne, amazing view from the Pier where you can sit to enjoy an ice cream or a nice cup of tea. It's a lovely walk from de Pier and then alongside the beach, I visited on a Saturday and the atmosphere was great during day or night time

The reconstruction after the fire of 2014 had progressed well and it was excellent to be able to walk a group around most of the main deck early one evening in fine weather.
Rather overly zealous security personnel at the southern end of the pier at some sort of club where a private function seemed to be under way ... reacted with huge suspicion at a group walking on the pier and looking out to sea ... which I would have thought is what most folk walk onto the Pier to do. Oh well, it kept them busy and feeling necessary.

A great bit of history to see. We have visited the arcade on rainy days, walked alkng on sunny days and enjoyed some drinks and lunch at the bar at the end. We have eaten from the fish and chip shop at the front which is a little expensive but very good quality. Overall there are great views and something for everyone.

Yes I know it has seen better days, yes it is being renovated, but just to able to walk down something like this is a wonder in our day and age, just do it if nothing else to say you have done it, enjoy.
Did a walk on this both at night and during the day a different atmosphere at different times of the day worth it.
The views are great

We went to the pier at evening time when water was on low tides. It was cold breeze and lovely weather. View was brilliant and pleasant.

The best time to take a walk is on a very clear day or at night when it is light up. Although it is being restored loved taking a stroll around it and admiring the views. My boyfriend even went fishing of the end if it. I have Been to the fishing shop at the end. Very reasonable priced and a lovely gentleman who served us. I enjoyed a cream tea on the pier and brought my gran a tea towel from the gift shop. Recommend a walk

Having recently stayed in Eastbourne for the 4th time in 2 years how sad to see this wonderful structure after the disaster that befell it. Hoping it will once again return to it's former glory.

Since the tragedies of last year, including the death of a worker, may he rest in peace the pier has gone from strength to strength. Though the Blue Room has gone, the pier now has a large open area that can be used for many different activities.

This very old pier is getting an upgrade at present. Most people will know that the arcade that was near the front end/middle of this fine pier was burnt down in recent years and is now being restored. The remainder of the pier stands the same and is still a very good main attraction. Well worth a visit

We had a lovely cream tea in the pier Victorian tea room. There was a large group of people sharing a celebration the cake stands of lots of lovely looking savory and sweet treats. There was lots of repair works going on around but it did not spoil the atmosphere in the room.
