Nice place for an early morning walk, along the pier as it stretches into the sea. Great views from the piers end - look back at Eastbourne, turn right to see Hastings. A lot better here and along the boardwalk than walking through the town!

Great little pier with wonderful views across the Eastbourne seafront. Good selection of shops as well to enable you to by souvenirs and other items. There was an arcade but it burnt down during the summer of 2014. It's still being rebuilt, not sure what it will be though, the rest of the pier is open as normal.

So pleased to see the pier still open after last years fire. We visited the Victorian tea room and had a cuppa with real tea and a tea strainer!! We also watched the glass blowing as we have done on previous visits.

So glad that the pier was saved after the devastating fire of 2014.
The restoration has been done with great speed, skill and attention to detail.
Wonderful views and facilities on the pier. A must for visitors to Eastbourne.

Half redone pier is a nice walk down with some cafes and a club, pretty views but not the most impressive of tourism at Eastbourne.

Quite a nice pier to just look at the view and the sea and breathe in some sea air. Costa Coffee at the entrance and handy toilets on the path underneath but otherwise not a lot to do. Pity that the old Amusement Arcade burnt down and hasn't yet been replaced. Couldn't find a traditional seaside arcade anywhere in Eastbourne - perhaps it's a bit too 'refined' - but even Llandudno has amusements on the pier itself.

we went on the pier several times just to enjoy the atmosphere there was lots to see and do but was also a nice place to walk and not spend money, although one after noon we treated ourselves to afternoon tea

My recent visit to Eastbourne pier was disappointing and somewhat of a concern with regard to safety. There is obviously some refurbishment work going on to replace rotting wooden deck boards. In some areas which the public area still permitted to walk along there was no visible means of support to the ends of some of the rotting boards and upwards of 2 inch holes. The gaps between the boards allowed the front wheels of the wheelchair I was pushing to get stuck. On particularly bad spot was not properly cordoned off. Lets hope it improves soon.

Eastbourne pier is a nice pier although it's currently under renovation.
The very best it is the old fashioned tea rooms on the pier.
These serve one of the very best cream teas I've ever had. Sandwich, cake, cream scone and tea or coffee for 2 for a total of £18. If your a cream tea fan and enjoy looking out to sea while you eat then this place is a must for you.

It's really hard to judge the pier right now as it's clear that there is so much hard work going into the repairs after last year's devastating fire. But the entrance is still fully functioning with chippy and icecream parlour. The middle section if the pier is fenced off but you can still walk either side, or sit in the benches. Two thirds along is the tearoom where you can have a cream tea for under £4 or a full afternoon tea for £9. There's a couple of gift shops and a confectioners, plus a few extra things to do at the end of the pier. I hope to go back and re-rate the pier once work is completed in the near future. PS cheap 99 icecream inc flake from the icecream man just by the steps under the pier - just £1

Lovely Victorian pier undergoing a little renovation. Cute shops selling trinkets, handbags, jewellery. Places to eat and drink, great views of beachy head.

One of the most popular places in Eastbourne. It is being reconstructed after the fire in autumn 2014. Hope that soon it will be open

Loved this Pier much more than the one in Brighton... You can just sit here, look at the sea and enjoy the views...

Since the recent fire that destroyed the ballroom, the pier has been in dire straits, even after they added sidewalks and opened the buildings seaward of the fire.

The flooring is replaced and the operators were hoping to have children' rides on it, but this was not allowed, so we will just have to wait until the ballroom is replaced to see it in full function again.

The current owners are considering selling the pier, so who knows what the future will bring? Still, for a walk in the bracing sea air, there's little to beat it!

Sadly part of the pier was burned down, however I am delighted to report that it is being repaired. there is access to almost all of the beautiful pier. The pier has been kept quite traditional with no brashy amusements. There is plenty of free seating which was a delight.

You have to pay a pound to walk along the pier! The toilets are disgusting. No mushy peas or cockles . Dogs on the beach

The Pier is undergoing a refurbishment and it is great to see the improvement. There are a few shops and hopefully work will finish soon

Somewhat shabby despite the fact that I'm led to believe it's recently been refurbished after a fire. Maybe that's still work in progress as there was still evidence of workmen. I visited during the day, and not much was open - seemed a bit of a shame

Great Pier, currently under-going re-furb works but still fully open, fishing available on the end of the pier.

Lovely place to go and sit and watch the world go bye. Holiday makers and locals are friendly and it is nice to hear people say good morning to each other and pass the time of day. We seem to have last this value as people pass each other in the street, without a greeting!. There are lots of rumours about what is going to happen to the pier, once rebuilt fully, but I certainly hope that there will be a few more shops and places to eat that cater for more than fish and chips.

The pier has the new works going on to repair the fire of 2014 and is really coming along with new board-walks installed on the first half..
Loved having Tea and scones and cake in the old Victorian tea room on the pier, although at over £20 quid for 2 adults and 3 kids was a little expensive but we enjoyed it!

We watched the airshow from it and got spectacular views of the aircraft and the Red arrows display team

Can't wait for the rest of the renovation work to be finished and see what else appears on the pier next time we visit in 2016

Free entry to a Victorian extravaganza. For those who enjoy a trip back in time this is a must. No expense has been spared to maintain one of England's most cherished seaside experiences

We visited the pier recently damaged by fire. Probably its best feature is the views which on a rainy day were still worth it. The shops etc. are tacky and it is a shame that the end of the pier is wasted on a night club. I hope they find the funds to restore this faded remnant which could be a fine pier.
