I love old piers, and marvel at how the Victorians constructed their piers. Eastbourne pier is another pier that has suffered fire damage.

A walk on the pier left us slightly disappointed with what was on it. Now is the time to bring the pier into the present

The pier is still being re-built after last years fire but before and I am sure when done will be a wonderful place to go . No dogs though , shame as we have 2 . Not sure why , some piers do allow and some don't.

The old slots are a giggle while the roller coaster at the end is fun not frightening . Lots to eat and drink also on the pier .

Work is well under way restoring the pier to its former glory following the fire that damaged the middle section. New boards are now in place which allows access around the whole structure, but as yet the shops in the middle have yet to return. Well worth walking to the end and looking back to the town, in the evening, when lights are glowing giving the town front a lovely feeling.

Pier is still a major attraction despite undergoing continuous repair. It is still well worth a stroll down on a warm summers evening.

Despite the fire nearly a year ago, the Pier is still worth a visit. Wonderful views from the end of the Pier back to Eastbourne's seafront. On a sunny day, lovely to sit and observe. Also there are historic walks running from East and West of the Pier.

Very nice day but a little windy. Because of the works being undertaken, a lot of the pier was blocked off. We went into the Victorian tearoom, but a lot of tables needed clearing. They also did not serve decaffeinated coffee or tea. In the glass shop it was very interesting to see the glass items being made.

Despite the fire damage which is being repaired the pier offers lovely views of the town and coast from Pevensey bay to Beachy head and good old fashioned booths and entertainment.

When I went a huge section of it was under construction following the fire. Nice view and it does the job of being a pier admirably!

It was a grey day when we visited Eastbourne but we didn't think our day would be complete without a walk on the pier. A lot of repair work has taken place and you can complete a whole walk around the pier. However it is not a pretty sight, and some of the attractions are still in need of some TLC to complete the restoration; a few were not even open. But if you go to Eastbourne you really must complete your trip with a stroll around this piece of history!

It is a lovely pier with a beautiful Victorian Tea room. Building work is taking place at the moment but you can still walk to the end.

there will always be something very special about taking a stroll arm in arm along the pier...grabbing some seafood off the stall, playing penny push in the arcade and just hanging off the end watching the anglers...whilst eating ice cream and getting as messy as the average 3 year old!!...losing Eastbourne Pier is yet another very sad loss...we'd only been there a couple of weeks before we lost it...so so sad!!!

I think the amusements area was destroyed in last years fire so less for people to do. The usual touristy shops, ice cream and cafe are still there. A nice - free - stroll along a piece of history that is increasingly disappearing from our shores.

It is worth having a look at the Pier but was pretty quiet when we were there.

There was food and drinks available and the pier itself was in very good condition.

After the devastating fire last year we were able to walk on the pier. We had a lovely cream tea in the Victorian Tea Room on the pier. Bliss. Had lovely weather and views from the pier breathtaking.

We went for a stroll along the pier it was great to see the building work in progress. There were several shops open and the tea room. You can hire fishing rods to fish at the end of the peer. The centre of the peer is boarded whilst they are working and it is perfectly safe to walk around. There are plenty of seats. It can be very windy but there is nothing anyone can do about that. I'm sure it will be better than before when it is completed.we look forward to our next visit. Old and young love the peer so give it a try you won't be dissapointed.

I live in Eastbourne and enjoy walking along the pier, I go as often as I can and have been taking an interest in the work that has been ongoing since the fire.

Work going on after fire but business as usual. Some good quaint shops. Has plenty of seating so great for sitting and chilling and for budding fishermen you can hire rods.

Definitely worth a visit. Watch out for the donation boxes for help with costs to rebuild.
