We love this place as it's very reasonably priced enterence fees. There are many animals for the children to see and things to do. You do have to pay extra for some activities, but they are really good value. As an example, go-karts, and the little electric quad bikes etc. There is enough to see and do, although it's more like a farm / zoo with birds of pray. All the staff are so helpful and nice too. They also have a massive soft play and soft ball cannons which the children love. So glad we visited again well done knockhatch.

My husband and I visited Knockhatch with 4 grandchildren aged 7-14. We bought our tickets on line the night before our visit ( trusting the weather forecast) thereby saving 20% on the entry fee.
I must admit that initially my heart sank when the 14 year old gave one of those looks that only a 14 year old girl can give! However, once we started to explore, all we saw were smiles. We actually had one of the best days out that we have ever had! And we have had a great deal over the years.
Knockhatch is very deceptive. It looks low key, but it just gives and gives. The attractions were suitable for a variety of ages and interests. Including adults who like to see owl flying displays! The additional activities such as go karts and bungee jump were very reasonably priced .We spent 6 hours there and only left because the park was closing. And we still hadn't seen everything.
The main comments I would like to make are that the staff were amazing. Their patience with very excited children was awesome! They were also firm when required ( which I admired) Secondly , the food outlets weren't pushed in our faces. Obviously, taking 4 active children out for a day can be expensive so we took a picnic. Which we left in the car and were able to go back to collect later. The children didn't even notice the additional food places. Also, there were lots of toilets and hand washing places. Plus at least one drinking water fountain.
I agree with one commenter that the two main unsupervised activities ( jumping pillows and Aqua slide) were very popular and some children didn't always share as much as we would have hoped, but we just left and returned later when they weren't so busy. There were so many other activities to do, that it didn't matter.
Possibly my only negative comment would be that the rowing boats seemed to be unregulated in regards to how much time people could spend out on the water. Consequently the queue was very slow moving. The boats also weren't easy to row.
Apart from that, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I just wish that we lived closer!

Initially I thought that the cost was quite expensive but speaking to others I should have booked on line the day before where I would have received a 20% discount. Visited by a party of 2 Adults and 4 Children aged between 5 and 11 we all thought that there was something for everyone. I would say that children between the ages of 7 - 9 would gain the optimum value. Take a change of clothes for the kids as they will get wet and very dirty. When you arrive you will find a display board which will list the days avents and plan your day around the park then you will get the best out of your day. The only downside I would say is that there were two areas in the park that need supervision by staff. One is the bouncy pillow area - TOO MANY CHILDREN and a number of bloody noses! and the grass ring slide area where children are very reluctant to hand over the rings - I had to take charge in order for other children to 'have their turn'. Make sure the children have socks on for the soft play zone and hope that the weather is good for you so that you can enjoy the outside play areas too. We took a picnic but there are lots of places to buy food, drinks and snacks from if you prefer. The kids loved the animals and birds only wish we had arrived even earlier (I think we were the last to leave the park). If you can only afford one 'big' day out I think that this park represents good value for money and all the kids agreed!

Lovely little place to go, not sure it's really suitable for four teenagers but our 8 year old enjoyed it, go carting was well worth doing and at a decent price, lots of different animals and a nice play area, jumping pillows were great as was the wave runner, thumbs up on entry price, food and activities, only downfall was the signage and narrow track way to get into the adventure park

We live close to here so visit a lot. I have taken children aged 10,7 and preschoolers here and there is something there for all these ages. If it's raining, the froggies indoor play does get very busy but there's loads of seating and the cafe is good.

The owners spend a lot of money and are constantly updating. We have been members for four years and so much for kids of all ages to do. The waterslide and simulator are awesome and the indoor play areas are just some of the things to do. Highly recommended!

We are local to Knockhatch and took the opportunity to book their Quad bike experience.
The course takes you around a circular track to familiarise you with your quad then it's off into the woods and surrounding area for an exhilarating ride. It was absolutely brilliant and all four of us had a wonderful time. We will be trying out their other experiences when we are able.

Well what can i say. What a brilliant day out with the kids, there was 4 adults and 4 young children and we have all had a brilliant time. The price is very reasonable and theres plenty to do in which the adults can even get involved with.. The staff were super friendly and must remember to add a special mention the member of staff that even broke into his lunch break just so we could have a quick ride on the quadpilla ride.. I could go on and on but it will get boring lol.. Would definitely visit again in the near future thanks to knockhatch for my kids having a brilliant day...

I am a frequent visitor to Knockhatch as my 9 year old and 18 month old absolutely love it. Even during the winter months it is well worth a visit as you can still see the farm animals, ride the quadpillar, watch animal encounter shows and keep warm whilst the children play in 'froggies' indoor play area. They also have a soft play area for babies and a cafe which offers a good variety of snacks. In January we had a birthday party package here, which was fantastic value for money. All children which attended (about 18) had a fantastic time!

Although i live relatively close in Hove i wasn't aware of this place until i looked for ideas for a day out during the recent teacher strike day.

I have to say that one very negative review on here nearly put me off going but i went with it as their website looked good, many other reviews were positive and most feedback had direct responses from the management.

I'm glad i made the decision for us to visit. It was pretty busy due to many schools being closed and you could tell the staffing wasn't quite geared up for it but there is lots to do here and everyone was entertained for the whole day.

It is a little rough round the edges but the staff were very friendly, the attractions varied (with the new, yet to open Fox Run looking really good) and the location really relaxing.

I will definitely return.

Spent five hours here in with friends children ranged from 5-13. Range of attractions to suit all ages. Seemed fairly clean we didn't use toilets or go in soft play. Also didn't use the extras which cost more money.
The rubber chippings at bouncing pillow stained clothes and skin a bit but probably because we had had rain recently. My daughter spent most her time here.
Also went on wave runner my daughter has ASD and when I explained to young chap at the top he was very helpful to her.
My daughter Was disappointed that the Avalanche ride had altered and the rings did not go down the slope very well even though surface was wet.
It was not too busy but had a comfortable amount of people.
Good value for money.
We also didn't buy food as took picnic but I thought ice creams were very reasonably priced.

We went here for my grandson's second birthday and had a wonderful day. There is definitely something for all ages and the food is both good and not too expensive. The children enjoyed the quad cart ride, I enjoyed the rowing boats and we all enjoyed the water slide. Brilliant day.

I booked these on a whim as the tickets were so cheap, costing under £10 for myself and godson.
I am incredibly pleased I did as we had a fantastic day, the tickets in my opinion were well worth it. For the ticket price you gained access to bouncing pillows, simulators, different adventure playgrounds including soft play and a paddling pool area and a demon drop slide. There was a chair carousel, 2 different owl shows to watch, animal encounters giving you the chance to handle different animals, a quad bike ride and tonnes of animals to look at on your way between all these attractions.
There was also crazy golf (£1 refundable deposit) plus several attractions you could pay extra for, all of these seemed at reasonable prices coming in at under £5.
My godson's favourite activity was 'gold mining' which was a little extra but still very affordable.
We visited on a rainy day and the park was pretty much empty, meaning we were free to roam and didn't have to queue anywhere. The park is clearly still undergoing some building works on a new attraction and I can't wait to see what it is when it's finished.
All staff were friendly and worked to engage the four year old in the animal shows and on rides. Staff were able to explain all different animal facts and seemed very happy.
The site has several food points, but not all were open on the rainy day we went, it also has several picnic spots to bring your own food.
We ate toasted sandwiches in 'froggies' the soft play area, reasonably priced and nice too.
You would have much more freedom visiting on a sunny day, but we enjoyed ours anyway.
The shop is located at the exit and you have to pass through to leave, however they do have many cheap pocket money items ranging from 40p. Disabled access would be tricky with this park as not all the ground was even.

Went with 5 kids for my daughters 10th birthday. Animals to see and so many activities for the kids to do. Nice area in the indoor soft play for parents to sit and know the kids are having fun in a safe environment. Lovely staff running the activities, very good with the kids. Will definitely come back again.

Children had an inset day and weather couldn't have been better for our visit. It was a 'green' day so our entrance costs were super value at just under £16 for three of us! Although not everything was open, eg. Water slide, laser game, large outdoor activity play area and boating pond there was plenty to keep the children happy. The children loved the massive, modern soft play area. Yes there were extra costs for some activities, but they were not extortionate compared to some places we have been. Children (10yr and 4yr) loved the bungee trampoline which was extra £3 each but good value as it lasted a good five minutes and the guy looking after it was really hands on in helping my youngest bounce. It was a really hot day and the poor guy overseeing the trampoline looked frazzled. I hope staff are given breaks or split where they work, when extreme weather.
No Knockhatch is nothing like Legoland, Chessington or Thorpe Park but it's a place to visit if you like a slower paced family day out - without massive queues or scarey rides. Entrance prices are very reasonable all year round and there are deals eg. buy in advance, family tickets sometimes vouchers (check out local Grapevine magazine and Google).
Lovely grassy areas for picnics, if you don't want to buy your food on site. No extra charges for parking. Lots to do, but make sure you keep an eye on timed events. There are boards dotted around advertising the times events are on, but easy to forget the time and miss out. I would agree with a previous review Knockhatch is probably not as 'appealing to older children, although I'm sure they will make the most of the water slide, drop slide and go karts.
Now for the negative bit.... Many of the enclosures for the animals at Knochatch are dated, smalll and v.shabby and in my opinion present as sub-standard. This was particularly evident where you walk past the swing chair ride, towards the boating lake. There is a row of animal enclosures with owls, meerkats, raccoon, birds etc.. Some animals are alone. For many of the animals all they can see is what is in front of them (us gaping and cooing at them!) as the sides of their enclosure is enclosed. Imagine yourself being in a shabby uninteresting room with grubby furniture and all you can see is what is in front of you and the odd person who stops and stares/makes noises at you. Get the picture! The saddest part for our family was seeing the raccoon with his little head up against the side of his prison (sorry enclosure) trying to peer through the gaps in the panels. He could hear the noises/voices from the other side and trying to see what was going on. He wasn't doing it in a playful way either which made it all the more sadder. I noted quite a few of the animals were said to live short lives in the wild but much longer in captivity- but 20 extra years in one of those closures, makes me feel sad.
I would be very interested for managements response about what plans are for updating this stretch of animal accommodation - especially as I notice there is extensive building work going on for what looks like a new play area for children. How about some updated, bright, stimulating accommodation for the owls, raccoon, meerkats etc?

Had a great time here celebrating 71st birthday with our Grandaughter age 8. Plenty to keep you occupied all day . Had Burger and chips with a coffee all for £4 and it was very good too. Lots of activities included in the price and those that are not are not expensive. My favourite was the Water Slide.
