We look after our grand-daughter who is nearly two once a week. We weren't sure whether Knockhatch would be suitable for such a little one but we weren't disappointed.
We only had an hour and a half but as it was a yellow day (in March), it was only £1.99 for adults, free for child. If you spent more on a different coloured day, you would probably want a longer time there.
We started off looking at all the different animals, mostly farm animals but they could be petted with facilities for washing hands afterwards, which was good.
We then went to Froggies soft play centre. Our grand-daughter wanted to join in with the older children on the climbing frames, slides and ball park, which meant I had to climb up with her! As the time was after school time, there were lots of exuberant children enjoying themselves but perhaps a bit too much for little ones. There is a corner sectioned off for under-3's with balls, play house etc. Unfortunately, older children were using it and swinging off the play house and no-one came to tell the children that they had their own area to play in.
If you have small children, I would recommend a visit before 3.30pm in term-time. I am sure there would be more things open in the school holidays for little ones.
I would recommend this venue and worth a visit as you could spend a whole day here if you took advantage of all the attractions, although some are extra cost.

11 year old granddaughter enjoyed everything,
took own food, buying food there was a bit expensive, particular favourite was climbing the
wall and the zip wire, also the go carts.

This is a great, all round, family day out. Loads to do for all ages and abilities. I'm a childminder so take a mixed aged of children from babies to 11 year olds. My younger ones love feeding the animals and my older ones love the water slide and adventure playground. Great food at reasonable prices. We loved it so much we took out an annual membership last year!

A great place wet or dry for a few hours or a whole day of fun for the whole family. We have been here a number of times as it is close to where we live and it is always good fun. We usually take advantage of various discount vouchers avaliable.

Visited today and it was all in all a really good day out. . You really can't complain. Some attractions were closed but we was aware of this before we set off for the day.

Positives.

Great animal experiences.
Great attractions.
Cheap entry.

Negatives.

Cold coffee. (Was replaced without question)
1 hour wait for food.
Needs parking attendant.
No towels or tissues at hand wash stations.

The animals all looked very well looked after and staff were accommodating.
Lots to do with a 3 year old.

I've read before that chandlers BMW rent the spaces for their cars which take up two or three rows. And that the park would rope this area off if it wasn't used by them to control park numbers. However this does seem a poor answer as people were then parking in the overflow car park and getting stuck in the mud.

Leaving the park was a nightmare as people had parked on the verges on a single track road and cars going in and out made it a stressful experience.

All in all the place just needs some small attention to detail.

But with this said we had a voucher for buy one get one free and for the three of us to have a day out for £10.50 you really would struggle to find a day out with better value for money.

We have been visiting Knockhatch for several years and always have a great day out. We recently visited in half term and although it was fairly busy, this did not spoil the experience. We got to the park just after opening time, so parking was not an issue. The girl on entrance was friendly and helpful as were all the staff at the cafe in Froggies. We had to wait a bit longer than usual for our food, but this was to be expected during half term week and we were given advance warning by the young lady who served us. We thought the pizza and toasties we ordered were way above standard for a park cafe and would definitely eat here again. Since our last visit, Froggies soft play has practically doubled in size due to the new extension and there is a toddler-only ball park in one corner. There are also new party rooms within Froggies which look nice and colourful - I will consider this for my daughter's birthday in November. Other unmissable sights at Knockhatch are the wonderful animals - if you like interesting and exotic animals this is the place to come. For example, the wallabies, a racoon, the meerkats, deer, peacocks, llamas and for the younger ones, giant rabbits and Pepper pig! There is also a Bird of Prey centre with some beautiful owls, etc. There are also other activities that are popular with my children such as the bouncy pillows and in the summer things like the waterslide and boating lake which don't have an extra charge. I had to practically drag my kids away at the end of the day! On the way home, my youngest daughter begged me to bring them back soon. On the whole, Knockhatch is good value for money. One tip - bring your wellies if it has been raining!

My 21 month old loved the soft play and played for hours. We had a look round the animals and brought some feed for them too. He loved the wallabies! The only let down was the food, not worth the prices. I will definitely take my own sandwiches next time. But will definitely return.

In my opinion, it is shabby and needs a lot of money spending on it and not going in owners pocket, which is a shame because it could be great!!!!

The soft play is great the kids have hours of fun. When the weather is good the farm is lovely too. The only down fall is the choice of food for children which I would suggest bringing your own snacks

We decided to go here as we had a voucher,so it only cost us £12.95 to get in for the four of us.
It was a great day, some of the attractions were closed as it's still the winter, but our sons loved it.
We would defiantly come again, but maybe in the summer months as it will be a lot warmer and there will be more for the boys to do.

We are on our second year of membership at knockhatch and think there will be many years to come!! Its such a lovely, fun day out. Staff are so friendly and so helpful. The attractions are all very good and what with the improvements to the soft play area it makes it an even more enjoyable visit. It is definitly our top most loved local attraction, keep it up knockhatch!
Oh and the hot chocolate is amazing!!!

This is a lovely farm and evert time I have visited in the last year they have had new attractions the one negative view would be that even after ordering coffees and drinks from the soft play cafe I was asked to sit outside in the rain to eat my home brought sandwich when there was plenty of empty seats

We came to Knockhatch for my granddaughter Megan's 5th party. The venue was excellent, so much space! The decor was bright & fun. The food and service very good, the staff were all friendly & most helpful. All the adults sat, chatted & drank coffee whilst the children ran around like loonies!! The parents could totally relax as it was so child friendly and safe. My daughter will definitely use again & a couple of the parents are going to book for their children's party. The bonus at the end of the 3 1/2hrs was being able to then go outside and see all the animals. Excellent value for money. Thanks Knockhatch for a great day!

We visited today as a family of 4 adults and 2 children (3 yo and 7 months), after reading reviews on here we really didn't expect much but decided to try somewhere new anyway.
Wow wow wow wow wow what a fantastic day had by all!!!!!
I really don't know what people expect these days??? We had a wonderful time, even though we had horrid weather we still thoroughly enjoyed our 5 hour stay and if we could start again we would have arrived earlier!
We enjoyed seeing the animals who all seem extremely well cared for , the soft play offering is a fantastic size and in very good condition, we went on the tractor trailer ride and the barrel ride thingy (quadrapillar??) which were both great fun, the animal encounters experience was run by 2 young lads who were extremely friendly and knowledgable and everyone that came along (about 8 families) all enjoyed a very intimate experience.
We enjoyed lunch in the soft play area - food was extremely tasty (we had a mixture of jacket potatoes, sandwiches, toasties and fish fingers and all were lovely), hot chocolate was to die for and the prices were beyond reasonable (about £24 for 4 adults and 1 child with drinks).
All of the toilets were clean and tidy too which is quite rare for mixed sex cubicles.

Sadly, we didn't even get to explore half of the park :( air pillows etc etc so we cannot wait to make a return visit.
Knockhatch is now up in our top 3 days out list along with Bocketts Farm and Longleat Safari!
They win hands down where value for money is concerned though!!!

The synethetic ice rink is an absolute waste of money, took my 3 boys and all we could do is walk around the rink. Not slippery at all, no grip from the boots and the only atmosphere was from the rustling leaves on the rink. Knockhatch as a whole is a great place to take the children but a waste of money to try the rink.

Myself, my wife and our 2 year old girl went in December and the admission is very reasonable for what's on offer, the only issue with this, is, the indoor play centre is packed full of local people who also think the price is reasonable compared to other play centres, but for this who use the park then want to warm up and have lunch, it is impossible to find a table. All the new extension seems to have done, is give more people a chance to hog tables all day.
Regardless, the park is very good and my daughter found the animals very interesting. The meerkats had a mesh around them which made it difficult to see them, but I'm assuming this was because people were putting things through the bars.
The wallabys and indoor barn are brilliant and the animals really friendly. The only complaint was the new ice skating which was ridiculously expensive at £5 for children and £6 for adults, especially on top of the admission fee, needless to say, it looked empty most of the day, so we obviously weren't the only ones thinking it. A good addition, but nearly as much as it costs to get into the park??
Overall a good 3/4 hours of fun, and when everything is open in the summer a good day out.

Took my two boys (5&7) for there introduction to skiing.
They had a 1/2 hour one on one introduction and both loved it. Both could stop and turn by the end of it.
The instructor was very patient with them.
Felt it was a very safe environment with out being over officious.
Found it goood value for money.

You have to spend a bit of time working out where everything is and a bit of walking but its worth a visit. We used Tesco vouchers and thought the entrance fee for whats there reasonable, some good attractions and plenty for kids

We found Knockhatch to be very good value, there are a few attractions that you pay extra for but it is still good value. There is a really good indoor playcentre which is great when the weather is not so good. It is very easy to spend the whole day here, and if you dont want to take a picnic, you can buy food here at quite a reasonable price in froggies playcentre.

We have been here several times as it's only down the road from us. Kids love it & so do adults. Lots of animals to see, outdoor and indoor play areas! Rowing boats - great fun! And lots more. There is a good few hours of fun there! Not too bad price wise to get in either and the food in froggies is quiet good and not bad price!!

Very good value for money the kids can't wait till next year. Try it you won't be sorry

We spent a day over half term at knockhatch, fantastic value as there was lots to do. Only major issue was parking, despite it being a busy school holiday and most of the overflow parking out of action due to sodden ground there were no marshals organising parking meaning that 2 cars were taking up 3 cars spaces throughout the car park. No one was on hand to direct us to the nearby ski centre meaning 40 minutes wasted looking for a space, not great after a 2 hour drive there.

The queues for food in the venue were shocking too, more staff needed as 40 minutes to get a coffee is very poor.

Took my 10 year old granddaughter , lots to do and if you book online their is less queing to get in. Went on the water toboggans with her which
for a 67yr old was quite scary but she was so proud I did it(Must admit
after the initial shock it was good fun) one of the best value for money
days out. We took our own food and just bought ice creams which kept
the expense down. Only left when we were all exhausted, there is a paddling pool for small children so good for all ages, would definitely
recommend this for a family day out.

There has been little mention of the Knockhatch dry slope skiing and snowboarding - next door! Brilliant centre!!! We had a family lesson and it was excellent! Tim, our instructor, was patient and ... Very kind in respect of our skiing efforts! Just so you know.... You're skiing on CARPET! So it was warmer than anticipated. We learnt to go, stop, get our confidence and use a ski lift! I'm sure there are technical terms but you get my drift. Really really nice helpful staff!

Afterwards, we went to the Adventure Park next door - which is in the same complex but is a totally separate attraction (separate fee). Although it was what we Londoners would call a "basic" park - it grew on me as the hours ticked by and the kids had a BRILLIANT time. Great choice of animals to look at and feed (clearly well taken care of). Bouncing pillows kept the kids amused and active for about an hour. Wave runner attraction brought gasps and shrieks to all those that dared have a go. The Playbarn was clean, well maintained and a really good size. Tractor ride was very slow (it's a slow drive around one field so make sure when you get on you are facing the field!) but once you chilled out and enjoyed the scenery it was very relaxing. Only daddy was brave enough to do the demon drop slide (shame on you sporty child!). We went on the motion ride simulator twice which was highly amusing. The mini quads were ok for £1 a turn - kids enjoyed them but they were entry level. 9 holes of crazy golf was laid back fun with the kids. In the end, the haunted barn wasn't THAT scary but gave us a good giggle on the third attempt!

We didn't get to the rowing boats nor the catapillar ride nor Barney the parrot and could have spent more time with the animals .... Next time.

On the food front, I'll be honest and say that it was only ok - selection was very limited. BUT in the end we found Froggies Playbarn had great jacket potatoes served with a lovely coleslaw and fresh salad, and a good kids sandwich, crisps, drink and fruit winder for £4. We also had a lovely yummy portion of cheesy chips from the burger bar.... Yum! However, I would probably recommend bringing a picnic for most families.....

This was one of our cheaper days out (£31.99 for two adults & too children) plus an extra few quid for the mini quads. Good value but I will look out for the vouchers next time!. I do note that this was an "orange" day so all attractions were open - definitely worth checking before you set out. It was also end of season so it was quiet and we rarely had to queue for anything. Also - check the weather forecast! We visited on the perfect autumn day - dry and still a bit warm - vast majority of activities are outside so dress accordingly. If it had been packed, cold and wet ... This review wouldn't have been so complimentary!

I can't quite bring myself to give 5* review I'm afraid. Although a great great day out... The staff were clearly just "tired" (end of a long season?) and I couldn't help but feel it was a bit "plywood city"!

We had a brilliant day out at Knockhatch. Personally, I would recommend it. We will likely come again. Really good day.
