Though it's been going for a few decades, the formula works.
The food is cooked on an open kitchen and is authentic.
We were three and shared a Meze with filo pastry cheese 'straws' and halloumi washed down with a Turkish Rose. Total cost £47 which is good value.

I have visited this restaurant many times with a variety of family and friends and haven't been disappointed yet. The food and the ambience is fabulous. The flatbread and accompaniments come automatically as does a tiny lamb pizza.
I rarely order a main course as I love lots of small amount to dip into, drink wine and chat. This is the place to do that and if you are vegetarian there is lots to choose from the Mezeler( starters/light dishes) plus a couple of vegie mains. Tomorrow I have friends visiting from Japan and this will be one of the 2 restaurants in Eastbourne that I plan to visit with them.

the atmosphere & house red wine were good. I really liked the flatbread but unfortunately when we asked for more bread we got a bread similar to focaccia - it was nice but heavy (hopefully next time we can ask for just the flat bread). The lamb kebab was good, but the accompaniments a bit bland - still will go again.

Fresh Turkish food with the grilling area in the restaurant, so you can see the chef cook. The mixed meze is the best starter and good value at £6.50. The main courses are good but expensive at around £14. The whole meal is about 2x the price of the excellent Turkish restaurant, down the road in Brighton, called Turkish Villas.

We found this place whilst looking for a vegetarian restaurant to take friends.. we have a table booked, but dropped in on a whim for lunch whilst in town... Eastbourne has many varied, (and good) restaurants and cafes, but if you fancy something different, exceptionally tasty and authentic, then this is the place to seek out. Between four of us we ordered a selection of the many meze dishes. All were delicious, perfectly proportioned and presented simply and attractively. Accompanied by Efe beers we had a lovely lunch. The staff were friendly, welcoming and added to the experience.
Really looking forward to our dinner reservation now!

This restaurant is nice and the food is fresh but the prices are more London then Eastbourne. Far far too expensive for this area, but the food is good as you would expect for that money.

Declaring our inexperience with authentic Turkish cuisine, we threw ourselves on the mercy of our friendly waitress. She did not disappoint. From wonderful breads and Meze, to crisp, aromatic salads, to succulent, marinated chicken and lamb, (all served with that seductive hint of charcoal). The evening was an absolute delight.

What a place, i should go here more often but with the options in Eastbourne i keep forgetting. However the food is fantastic and its great to see the chef prepare it in front of you. Very reasonable on the pricing.

I have been to this restaurant many times and visited again with friends on Saturday 28th May. As soon as you step through the door and greeted by Carlos the owner you get exceptional friendly service and fantastic food. There is a very comprehensive menu with lots of delicious starters and main courses. All the starters are delicious and very well presented and the main courses are cooked to order and perfection on a flame grill which is inside the restaurant. Brilliant service during the meal and all staff are friendly and helpful. If you would like to try Turkish food at its best , this is the place to visit in Eastbourne. It may not be the cheapest
place to eat but worth the extra for superb food and service.

I dined here before about six years ago and I wasn't impressed. I'm sorry to say that nothing has changed! The starters, although tasty, were very stingy portions. We ordered a mixed meze starter for three at a total of £18. It certainly wasn't worth it. The same meal for one at the Nazar in Hastings costing £8 would have been the same amount as we paid for three. My lamb main course was tasteless and again not worth the money.

My friend robs dad was Persian introduced us to this place.
The food is cooked in front of you and has a great charcoal grill taste and it tastes clean and healthy. It's like going to the kebab shop but 10000 percent better.
I love bulgar wheat yogurt and those huge grilled chillis
I went to Milas in turkey last year, looking for better Turkish cuisine It was not a patch

This family run restaurant is very cosy, and I try to dine here every time I visit Eastbourne. Nothing I've tried on the menu has disappointed. I love the bulgar wheat they serve on the side of most of their dishes. The owner always welcomes us with a smile.

Whilst not in the best part of Eastbourne, this place is well worth the visit. Excellent choice and the food is cooked on the open grill in front of diners. Great service. Highly recommend.

What can you say about Meze apart from its mouth watering food … it's warm and friendly environment … and its friendly wait staff.
This is my restaurant of choice for family gatherings. The food is gorgeous and cooked freshly on the open grill. It's very good value for money especially if you choose the Meze special and share.
They also do some lovely liqueurs!
Total cost for a Meze special (one Meze & share a plate of a mixture of all meats), extra shrimp starter, 1 dessert and 1 bottle of wine was approx £42 and so worth it.
See you soon.

Good service and good food. Nice change from the many pizza/pasta places in Eastbourne.

Very busy little restaurant on the Saturday night so booking is a good idea.

My first experience of Turkish cuisine other than kebab.....I'd go again!

We spontaneously decided to have lunch out on a Tuesday. The restaurant was fairly quite but the staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was lovely, authentic and well presented.

The food is first class. It has a comprehensive menu to suit all tastes. The chefs can be seen cooking and preparing fresh foods. A good drinks selection. The turkish wine is lovely.
The staff are friendly and attentive. Ideal for friends or couples.
It does have one step to get into the restaurant.

Whenever we think about going out for a meal, our thoughts turn to Meze..... We go elsewhere too but it's our top choice in Eastbourne for good service and wonderful food!

This is a fantastic restaurant but need to learn more about service. The food is excellent. Shame it was so quiet. Needs promoting because the food is like being in Turkey

Eating here brought back my best memories of the fifteen years I spent living in Turkey. Everything was of the highest quality and authenticity. To be honest, it was better than the food you get in Turkey because the meat was of better quality. I loved it.

The Turkish white wine was delicious and the welcome nibbles of puffed up bread cooked in the tandoor I think, with plump olives and feta cheese, then Farouq, the owner brought tiny rounds of herby bread. Even the butter was hand made from double cream, salt and dill. Followed by tabouleh and thick Turkish yogurt. Next lamb cooked on the charcoal grill with mild sliced onions and sumac served with breads and more food than I could finish. Highly recommend if you like food freshly prepared and brilliantly cooked. Family run business - I wish they would open one where I live, but I'll make the trip again.

Generous portions of lovely Turkish food with yoghurt and bulgar wheat sides. I had one and a half lamb shanks cooked in the clay oven and my wife had a kebab of lamb, with charcoaled peppers. The portions were large so we only had the main course washed down with Turkish house red wine, which was very palatable. Host was very attentive and this is a family run business.
