Only observed from the fence as closed, but looks interesting enough to return when operating.

This place is one of the friendliest, most genuine attractions around. The rides are for a donation which suits all wallets (is probably abused by stingy people but hey, that's life sadly!) and is a very enjoyable time for kids and adults alike. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

I have lived within a 15 walk of this place for 5 years and didn’t know about it. It’s brilliant. Run by true enthusiasts, who just want to share their passion with others. A donation is all that’s required.

This 5 inch gauge railway really is worth a visit. Running most Sunday afternoons during the summer it offers rides to both adults and children for a donation to the funds. There is the occasional "Buffet" day which has cake and drinks for sale, again for a donation. The club that runs this attraction work hard to make the grounds look really good. There is also a 16mm railway - the Garden Railway - running steam and battery operated trains which can be watched. Often there are rides available on the miniature traction engines as well. A great place to spend a couple of hours in the sunshine.

We visited for the first time today, having never really been prompted to go, despite being vaguely aware of the existence of the railway, and we were so glad we did.

Unfortunately there had been some minor but needless vandalism during the week, but it was the report of this that prompted us to visit, so every cloud and all that...

We arrived at 2pm and the railway was already up and running with about 4 locos and coaches running, and another couple were added during our visit, making it a busy railway, fortunately it is fully signalled, so they all follow each other around. There must have been about 30 visitors on site by the time we left an hour later, and the volunteers were really friendly; so we were more than happy to make a donation.

My three kids really enjoyed it and we went around several times; it's certainly a fun and cheap way of filling a chunk of Sunday afternoon in the summer, and something different too.

Well done to the engineers and their families for such a great little venture, and just sorry we hadn't been before!

When I lived locally, my friend & I, with the dogs we had at the time, came here a lot. There's what's known as "the secret field" there, where we sat drinking hot choc, in a heavy snow storm. Enjoying every minute of it too. The miniature steam railway is great. My grandchildren were often going for rides on it. The people that run it are so good at what they do. Praise where praise is due. These chaps deserve it too. A great place for family picnics, with ramps etc too.

A nice tucked away miniature railway. Everyone is very friendly and it's free to ride as many times as you want, but donations are appreciated (to be honest £5 or so for an hour of fun with the kids is excellent). Highly recommended!
