Read the reviews got this restaurant on here and found it just 5 mins away from our hotel. Had not booked a table but were seated within a few minutes of waiting. A very busy restaurant. Service was great and friendly. Food was fabulous and the cost wasn't bad. Would go back there again and again

The restaurant was busy but we were found a table with no problems. Waiting staff were friendly & polite, making conversation with visitors.
Orders taken & wine poured they then left us to enjoy. Food was of a good standard and the portion sizes large. Once the meal was over we were offered coffee and declined. We were happy chatting over the last of the wine. On leaving staff came to say goodbye & again made polite conversation. Would return if ever in Eastbourne again.

Fantastic service, always helpful, staff go out of their way to make it a lovely eating experience. This is our 'go to' for any family event as we are made to feel very welcome. Food is excellent, not too pricey - they do a 2 course meal for around £11. The best pistachio ice cream along the south coast - my favourite! Also the finest tiramisu. I love that they have a choice of brown or white rice for risotto! If you produce theatre tickets they give you a 10 percent reduction. Last time we went it was for a birthday celebration and all the staff gathered round to sing. Wonderful.

Whenever we visit Eastbourne we try to eat in this long established restaurant.
The food that we have eaten here is excellent. The service is great - very friendly. I think it is a family business. They own the restaurant next door too.Good value for your money. If you go to the local theatres and produce a ticket stub you get 10% discount. I think there is also a children's menu.
Its clean and they have good clean toilets - always an important factor for me.The only problem is that sometimes they are closed to the general public because the restaurant is taken over for a function, so best to try and book first. Otherwise I would certainly recommend this venue.

We booked this restaurant because it was recommended to us.
I'm pleased we booked because when we arrived it was full but we were taken straight to our table. And we were given menus and then guess what happened? Nothing.
We waited for a waiter to take our drinks order but they were all busy dealing with other tables and when we stopped a waiter that was walking past our table he looked at us as if to say '"You're not my table I can't help you".
Eventually a waiter appeared and took our drinks and food order.
The food is very good but the restaurant lacks a warmth and welcome that a maitre d' would give you, and the staff, in their matching white shirts and black bow ties, look very smart but they need to go on a course to learn customer skills.
Then it would be a very good restaurant.

We think this is the best Italian pizzeria in town, there's also fantastic home-made pasta, and several other delicious fish and meat dishes there is a particularly good monkfish dish with pink peppercorns! It can get very busy so it's definitely worth booking at weekends or evenings later in the week or during events such as the tennis or the airshow.
Having eaten around the UK and around Europe extensively, this restaurant genuinely matches up to the best family run restaurants you will find in the world. Honest, delicious, home-made quality meals, good service – thoroughly recommended! Definitely try here before you go to the regular High Street haunts.

We had lunch here - seven of us. They were very accommodating to our 2 kids. Pizzas were excellent. Service was fine, albeit a little Italian-moody - so authentic! Good prices and great location. Would definitely eat here again.

We had dinner here June 29, even though we did not have a reservation a table was found for us quickly, our order was taken promptly and the food was very good.
And then nothing happened, no one came by to see if we wanted anything else, we were not offered dessert or coffee, our main course plates were not cleared, we waited for 20+ minutes for a server to follow up or for a bill to arrive and it didn't. The tables are within 6 inches of each other, the noise level was excessive from staff clattering plates and talking far too loudly to each other and from other guests trying to make themselves heard either in conversation with their companions or with servers.
Eventually I went to the front desk and asked if they wanted us to pay the bill or if we should just leave as none of the staff seemed interested in us. The bill arrived, we paid, we left. Apparently this restaurant has been a marvelous success, to this customer it seems that they have forgotten the most important part of success-good customer service, we were not the only people who looked annoyed and ignored.
Good food is not enough you have to pay attention to your customers

Oh my word. What a great restaurant. We were very lucky having not booked they found us a table. A real treat on a Saturday night. We last used this restaurant some 10 years ago. It is more than established and improved. The food was great as was the attention of the staff to our needs. The owner has the presence of mind to present himself at your table and after a short chat ensure that the food is to his standard and the service is up to the mark.

Visited this restaurant first time with couple of friends. Very good selection of set menu. We all enjoyed it. Decided to go with hubby and little girl and glad we all liked it. Especially when my daughter ordered her chocolate and strawberry ice cream and then decided she didn't like the strawberry flavour, the staff changed it for her without any problems which made her a very happy girl.

We came here for a family meal for three, had one pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms, one pizza blanco which was perfect due to an allergy, and a seriously good calzone! The device was swift friendly and efficient, the restaurant was busy and lively which is always good to see, a thoroughly enjoyable evening and very well priced for the quality of food you receive!

On a weeks break in Eastbourne, on my wife's birthday we found this amazing place. The food was superb, excellent choice, plenty of staff who had time to talk to you, The restaurant was busy with people queuing for tables. That speaks for itself we even managed three courses. Only downside was being charged £5 for a small bottle of beer. We would hope to visit again but being 285 miles away long way for a night out. .

Really great pizza, also Tirmasu and Minestrone was great, my wife loved her prawns and avocado salad.
Service was amazingly fast for the ammount of crowds, but a little too noisy for a 5 star rating. The Sun- Thur Menus are a great deal, only Lasagne was average. Can clearly recommend that place if yout like a lively place.

One of two restaurants almost side by side ( see La Locanda Del Duca) run by the same family, both with huge success. They were busy when we arrived but took the trouble to find a suitable table with plenty of room for my sister to spread herself.
Despite being incredibly busy and full, there was never a suggestion that we should rush or vacate our large table, even when it came to a drink from the management. The food was as good with all the things you expect from a good Italian Pizzeria with the right prices to go alongside.

Having not booked as this was a last minute trip to Eastbourne we didn't hold out much hope for a table on a Saturday night but they managed to fit us in.
The choice of pasta dishes was very impressive and the food didn't disappoint either. The desserts we fabulous too. Would go back for sure. Staff very good too.

Always great Italian food although on this occasion, as we were in a very quiet part of the Restaurant (as requested), we seemed to be forgotten and had to ask for and remind drinks service and menus. A couple of the waiters also were lacking in enthusiasm!!! The food however, especially the Minestrone soup and lasagne was, as usual, outstanding.

This is a busy restaurant but attention to detail, a good welcome, your enjoyment as a customer are high on the staff's mind. We had a wonderful evening and the food was excellent - the starts were elegant and tasty; the pizza, fish and lasagne mains were perfect and the deserts were to our taste. The Pinot Grigo was a good choice of wine as was my husband's Cider, served very cold. An excellent restaurant - Their two course for £10.50 was excellent value. Booking in the early evening essential - not sure about later on in the evening.

We took at night out, recommended by Paul at Da Vinci. The night was fun and the service was a very high standard, with a smile and light heartedness that was quite refreshing.
Plus, as a coeliac they had a separate menu just for us. It was lovely as was the food. Quite special to feel apart of the group with out having to change the menu or shout about it.If was so tasty and definitely worth a second visit.
It was also very clean, busing with people and atmosphere and the food was beautifully cooked and served quickly, ensuring it was hot and fully enjoyed by us all. Accepts large groups of friends, no problem. You do need to book as it is very popular and well worth a visit you are in the area.

A very popular restaurant, always busy, good quality food at reasonable prices. Varied menu - Monday to Thursday menu includes good set prices for two or three courses. Service good. Can cater for large parties.
