There is no other word for the food in this restaurant, recommended to us by the guest house we were staying in. We were accommodated quickly without a booking they were very busy. The food was divine, service perfect, tables looked amazing, very clean, would definitely call again when next on holiday.

We usually eat here after our last day at the Devonshire Park LTA Tournament, and there is always a smattering of players and officials, as well as many tennis-goers. The restaurant is very large, having 2 main rooms, as well as a further basement when they are over-run!
They offer a 2-course menu for £10.95 or 3 courses for £13.30, as well as an extensive a la carte menu which is of course considerably more expensive. We ate from the set menus - sea bass for my friend, spaghetti for me with a green salad. Both very good. The service is impeccable and, when I asked, I was told they have 15 waiting staff, and obviously an efficient kitchen because, despite the size, we were not kept waiting too long. The house wine was good, as expected in a good Italian restaurant. It is bustly and noisy, again like all good Italian places it seems. Well worth a visit.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I have visited Pomodoro several times, either by myself or with friends and often at short notice, and each time the same high standards prevail. Love this place.

Great restaurant and always busy. Lovely owner Lucca and his staff so friendly. A huge menu and the scallops are delicious with black pudding. Good wine at a good price and the sister restaurant La Locanda Del Duca a little more expensive and slightly better food is next door. Worth a visit.

Like every year when i'm in Eastbourne for the WTA tournament, we have dinner here on our last evening. It has become a tradition for us that we look forward to months ahead. There is a good choice of lots of italian food. This time i chose the 3-course menu, with Bruschetta as a starter, a great Spinace/mushroom lasagna as main course and real italian tiramisu as a desert. It's been a pleasure again. Book a table though! It's always packed when we are there. Staff is very friendly, and also very important, for all these years i go there, the same people are still working here, which always seems as a good thing to me! Go and have dinner here!

The food here is amazing and you cannot fault the food or the staff. The only thing I'd change about this venue (which cannot be done I assume) would be to somehow dampen down the noise. If the restaurant is full then it's a real struggle to hear the person you're with talking and if you're on a table bigger than 4 then it's even worse. It's good food so it's worth it I guess... last time I was there Eddie izzard was in and that made up for some of the noise issue

A simple genuine Italian family oriented place. Large so you shouldn't have a problem getting a table. Typically Italian - very hospitable, and accommodating. Child friendly. Pizzas are authentic and good. Prices fair. Recommended, particularly if you have kids.

This place is a gem, especially for my wife who has to eat gluten free foods, we ate there during tennis week in Eastbourne and the restaurant was packed. Fortunately we had booked a table and were seated immediately (next to tennis players). The service was quicker than expected with every table occupied. The food was very good as was the service and surprisingly we were not hurried even though customers were waiting at the door. Everything was freshly cooked and the spaghetti source was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant the only drawback that night was the noise.

This restaurant, along with it's sister establishment, La Locanda del Duca (next door) are not to be missed. Cannot fault the menu choice, ambiance, décor service and staff. The title really does sum it all up. If it's gotta be Italian then these are the places to go.

One of my favourite pizza places anywhere. I usually have the set price two course menu and have the salad starter which is served really prettily. The pasta and pizzas are excellent as you would expect from an Italian family, and service friendly and patient (I have one friend who takes AGES to choose!). The freshly squeezed orange juice beats pub drinks any day.
Tips: If you are going to the theatre, some of their printed tickets have on the back 10% off at Pomodoros. Parking is on street pay and display but free after 6pm.

Went to visit an old friend in Eastbourne and got to the hotel before she arrived....were hungry and went wandering....walked in at lunch and had a very nice lunch, tasty and fairly priced.....went back to the hotel and met my friend.....later in the day needed dinner and went back to the restaurant....my friend is in a wheelchair and it was no problem seating us....the restaurant became very crowded over the evening but the waiters remained unperturbed and rushed about their work....the food was delicious! We would go back in a heartbeat!

We had been walking around looking for somewhere to eat. We stopped here and looked at the menu and were very impressed. However being Saturday night and they were very busy I didn't think we would get in. We asked, and without, hesitation he separated some tables and seated us quickly and politely. The service was very quick and efficient, and the food was beautifully cooked. Freshly prepared and flavoursome. They were obviously very popular and their prices very competitive. Would recommend highly.

I went to Eastbourne for a day on a hot sunny day.
We were strolling around and walked past Pmodoro e Mozzarella.
It was busy restaurant so we decided to walk in.
It's not a fancy restaurant. But the food is excellent. It has a sort of home made taste and feel to it that makes the food superb.
The prices are reasonable the staff were super friendly. There was a big gap between starter and main but overall the experience was great.
I would definitely go back there, if I am ever again in Eastbourne.

We were back in Eastbourne for a theatre visit and decided to go back again to this very good Italian restaurant. It was early evening and yet several tables were taken. By the time we left most of the very large pavement level was full.
We had starters of asparagus (very good) and salmon & prawn with avocado (sizeable). Our mains were a juicy salmon and a very big pizza (not all managed) finished off with panacottas. All in all another very good meal in this attractive, friendly good quality restaurant. We'll no doubt be back again soon.

Seated quickly, lovely atmosphere in the restaurant.
Took a while for our order to be taken and a drink offered.
Drinks came out quickly.
Bread came out quickly but the starter followed later.
Mains took a very long time to come out, so long that I had finished my cocktail so I asked for another one.
Finished dinner, no cocktail arrived.
Asked for the bill, I had to leave as I was so infuriated by the delayed service. Ten minutes later the same waiter came back to confirm that my husband wanted the bill
Bill came over quickly, no tip left.
Food, fantastic, service very very very slow.

We have visited this restaurant for lunch on several occasions and never been disappointed. The prices are good, the food authentic Italian and extremely tasty, and the staff very helpful.
We will be back when next in Eastbourne.

This restaurant is very busy at the weekend so important to book. I sat on a the lower floor which was very crowded- but there was a large birthday party! Waiters/ waitresses are always busy and food can be delivered very rushed and slapdash. But they are friendly if you ask for more drinks. The menu has a lot to offer so you can spend a lot of time deciding what to have. But overall good value for money and very authentic.

This is a busy little pasta/pizza restaurant. Fast friendly service, good with the kids. A really nice alternative with more character than the run of the mill chain style, faux Italian. A decent variety of proper food on the full menu. We often choose from the set menu which is very reasonably priced and has all the basic favourites you would expect.

Freinds took us for the first time at 6pm on Saturday. (You normally need to book!)
Good choice (not all pasta and pizza) and the starters and mains were really well cooked an presented with a haute cuisine look . Sweets were better than most restaurants provide. Staff were friendly and attentive. Brilliant evening!

Went with group and all enjoyed it. Nice menu. Excellent value. More than me agreed food lacked bite and seasoning one would normally associate with Italian food. Great friendly service.

Every time I visit Eastbourne to see my young grandson and my daughters, we finish up here!!! The food is very good, service is brilliant and they really look after Woody who is almost three years old. Great pizzas with my personal fave being the Fiorentina. My two daughters really enjoy the pasta dishes and Woody loves his simple child margherita!

We were vising Eastbourne for two days. We had booked for an anniversary dinner the following day at La Locanda next door, so had not really intended to eat Italian the night before. However, both our choices of Spanish and Greek are closed on Tuesdays, and knowing that the reviews for the Pomodoro are always good I opted to eat from the 3 course set menu at £12.80 and my husband from the Set Special menu at £20.90. We chose the cheapest red wine, which was very good and smooth. The food and service were both excellent. The whole experience made you feel as though you were in a little piece of Italy. Even the weather obliged!
