We ate here on my birthday last month and were very impressed by the service, atmosphere and quality of very good value food. Obviously a family run restaurant
which they are quite rightly very proud of in the welcome and attention that they give customers. Food & wine was excellent, good selection on menu and wonderful presentation - even the mixed salad starter was artistically presented and filling! Home made tiramisu to die for. I would thoroughly recommend eating here and next time we are in Eastbourne we will definitely return.

I'm sure food can be a very personal and subjective matter, but for me, Pomodoro e Mozzarella hits the spot.
Is it a love of Italy? Is it the food? Is it the staff? is it Luca, the host? Altogether for my wife and me, every visit as a grear affair. It goes without saying, that all the food is prepared fresh, the pastas and pizzas are excellent, but they also offer an interesting variety of meat and fish dishes.
If my job was reviews, then I'd also have to mention that they cater very well for vegetarians and offer gluten free pastas.Enough of that, I love it, it ticks all the boxes. Good food can be ruined by bad service, but with Luca's team, you get the whole package.
If I could afford it, I'd be there every night!

This side by side Italian restaurant (the two are next door to each other and run by same owner) is probably the best you are going to get in Eastbourne. I can understand some of the poor reviews, as when things get busy the staff can get pushed for time and maybe the service is compromised a little. However the reviews alluding to a "canteen" atmosphere perhaps don't appreciate the very thing that makes this place appealing: It's generally busy and full because it's good!
The tables are a little close together but this adds to the atmosphere. It's lively and full of people actually ENJOYING their food and chat, and that's so much better than some other places in Eastbourne that are as dull as ditchwater.
The pasta here is well cooked, tasty and nearly always prepared properly. The sauces, fish, meat and side dishes are impressively consistent. Occasionally something goes wrong but I have never had to argue the point if anything was cold or not quite up to standard - it has been instantly replaced no questions asked.
This restaurant provides gluten-free pasta for those allergic to gluten.
The wine selection is reasonable and generally good value. A bottle of decent Frascati is very good value for a restaurant. The staff are often a little rushed but always friendly, efficient and quick to react. Overall, this is easily the most interesting and agreeable place to eat in Eastbourne, if you enjoy Italian food. Recommended.

Casually perusing the town for places we could eat gluten free, when we ambled along Cornfield Terrace, and realised we had hit the mother lode!
Someone here obviously understands the needs of coeliacs, and there is a special gluten free menu in a Pizza and Pasta place - and not a silly token menu either. It is a set menu with several courses that are excellent, So good that some of them are even more attractive than the regular menu. Even the non-coeliac eat from it! We were both marvellously pleased. Yum Yum Yum.
As an example: Grilled Goat's Cheese with Polenta; Pizza; dessert
The service was perfect, attentive, courteous, quick.
The place was heaving, including large parties, but they still were able to seat us without a reservation.
If it wasn't so far I'd go to Eastbourne just to eat here again.

Popped in here as it was close to where we were staying. Nothing much to recommend it really - very middling Italian food over-priced for what we had.

We turned up on a Saturday night without a booking and got one of their last tables, we had drinks within a couple of minutes and the risottoes, me, spicey salami, my wife seafood, were as good as we have ever had. Our deserts were as tasty as they looked, their desert presentation should win medals!! The Pinot Grigio was spot on too. To finish it off they gave us coffees and an italian brandy on the house. We have been Pom Mozz a few times now and it just seems to get better and better.

We ate at PeM on two consecutive mid-week evenings in late August. We were recommended by our B&B. The restaurant has about 100 covers and was busy all evening while nearby chain Itailan style restaurants were almost empty. We ate at the high end of the menu the first night and at the cheaper end the second -- all the food was delicious. We had to return a glass of the house red wine as it was clearly from the stale end of the bottle, but it was handled without fuss or quibble.

We were lucky to get a table for the two of us on a Thursday night without reservation: the restaurant was very busy.
The service was good and friendly and even if they were busy, the staff were polite and pleasant. there was no loud music, only the lively atmosphere with laughter and discussion. The food was very nice: the bruschetta and minestrone soup were both delicious. The mixed salad was presented beautifully. The grilled sardines and particularly the lasagne was great. The food tastes like Italian home cooking at it's best.
The set menu for £10.50 was excellent value for money.I would recommend this place for a nice Italian meal, and recommend booking a table.

We've travelled in Italy; we live in London; but this is the best Italian restaurant outside of Rome. All the food is homemade, down to the cassatta; there are plenty of waiting staff who are very professional and know their stuff. The food is superb! Don't bother with anything else in Eastbourne, just go to the Pomodoro e Mozzarella - the menu is interesting and extensive enough for you to eat there every day for a week (or more). Did I mention how good the food is?

This has got to be one of the most popular and lively restaurants in town. Wouldn't try turning up at the weekend hoping for a table as likely to be disappointed. Even booking before is not always guaranteed! First class italian food with fast, friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere and great value. Sometimes its hard to make the decision to go anywhere else!

This restaurant should be at the top of the list. Maybe it isn't because there are two listings for the same restaurant under slightly different names. Anyway, the staff are friendly and the food is very good. Very child friendly and lots of tables. Good for groups too. There is a very extensive menu, as well as pizza there is pasta and other italian options as well.

We had a great meal, very reasonably priced, at this popular Italian restaurant. It was mobbed and we were lucky to get a table, as we had not booked. I now know how to present a side salad - what a work of art!

This was recommended to us when we stayed in Eastbourne a few years ago. When we asked this time at a different hotel, they again recommended the same restaurant. We ended up eating there 2 nights running! What sold it to us was that it was a great place to take children. It's often difficult to find somewhere to take young children to eat in the evening, and you end up feeling uncomfortable. But while this restaurant would be perfectly nice to eat out at as a couple or with friends, we also felt comfortable bringing the children. They had highchairs, a children's menu and crayons and an activity sheet to keep them busy, and I noticed a few other families there as well. The food itself was very nice and reasonably priced. Service was quick and the waitresses were friendly, although a couple of the male waiters while polite were rather grumpy! Nect time we go to Eastbourne, I expect we'll eat there again!

My partner and myself were booked in yesterday (Saturday) @ 7pm. This restaurant reminded me of a Ferrari, clockwork efficiency to the ninth degree.
On arrival a polite gentleman took our coats, always a good sign, then showed us to our seats. The place was heaving with all types of peoples, some with children that were well behaved. This all added to a happy restaurant atmosphere.
The service was spot on and the food, lovely and freshly prepared, could not be faulted. Argentini for starters, tasted like they had just come out of the sea. A Spaghetti Aglio Olio Peperoncino Pomodori Secchi and a Scaloppina Alla Milanese for main course certainly had the taste buds tingling. Unfortunately we were full to the brim so could not try the Sweet.A nice bottle of Chianti Classico Riserva went down very well, even though over priced, with our meal.
I noticed no 'house wine' on the menu, unusual for an Italian. All in all a very good choice of food, that was really thoroughly enjoyed.
As some reviewers have mentioned, they thought they were being slightly rushed over their meal, no, that's just the efficient Italian machine.Would we go back, most definitely.

Pomodoro e Mozzarella is slightly out of town but well worth the walk, I ate here twice – pizza one night and Pasta the other
Both where amazing, Pizzas come from a traditional proper pizza oven and are covered in a consummate quality toppings, the Pasta was also amazing and I would recommend the Focaccina Al Rosmarino with, well anything probably.
Go there but be careful don’t go to La Locanda Del Duca by mistake, yes it is owned by the same family but the food is dire.

Ate here with some work colleagues - the food was great - good portion sizes and was served promptly - what more could you want? The place was busy on a Wednesday evening which was a good sign.
A work colleague recommended the restaurant and I can see why - I'd definitely return.

Great food. Nice staff. Good vibe. Be aware that it's split (sort of) into a restaurant and pizzaria. I think the food's the same, but the pizzaria is just more casual and crowded. So go for the restaurant for a more romantic meal, if that's what you want. But even in there it's not exactly quiet. More like a lively italian family restaurant. We really liked it.
Great food.Me : pate (lovely), beef with green peppercorn and cream (delicious)
Wife : Asparagus and cheese sauce (lovely), pizza (huge and lovely). No room for pudding, but they looked nice.
Go there! I'd definately return. Possibly the nicest Italian food I've had outside of Italy, including many top reviewed places in London.

If you want good Italian food served with style in a lively atmosphere then this is the place for you. Can get a bit crowded and noisy at times just like the restaurants in Italy, but hey, that's what we want in stuffy Eastbourne. On the menu are all the usual Italian specialities freshly cooked to perfection plus a good range of delicious pizzas and reasonable wines.
Well worth a visit.

13 for lunch after our Civil Wedding ceremony on a Thurday afternoon was no problem for this lovely place. We were all made to feel very welcome - we were effortlessly looked after by very attentive but not fussy staff. The food was universally excellent - well cooked, hot, good sized portions and full menu available even at lunch. The satff entered in to the spirit of our celebrations and made the day more than memorable.

This restaurant is not the finest in Eastbourne; it's possibly the finest in Britain. Fresh ingredients expertly put together, to order, to create an authentic top-quality meal. I always call in when in the area and have never been disappointed. I've had pasta, pizza, rosemary bread, salads, fresh fruit salads; all of historic quality and value. Attentive, professional service as well.

An excellent Italian restaurant with a wide menu to suit anyone. Service is superb but you are not made to feel hurried. Food is uniformally high quality and seems to be cooked to order. A good but slightly expensive wine list.
We ate here twice last week - the first time we were in a hurry and the fast service was a real bonus. The second time we decided to have a three course meal and when we staggered out 2 1/2 hours later we'd eaten enough to last us for a week. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant fills up very quickly - if you are planning tyo go on a Friday or Saturday night make sure you book or you may well not get in!
(By the way - as in most Italian restaurants children are made very welcome!)
