Spotlessly clean, lovely old hotel with bygone charm. My only complaint is that the room was a bit small. Very comfortable bed and excellent pillows.

Sorry grand back for the first time since COVID and your standards have dropped a bit. Watching a less abled person trying to struggle up the stairs with a walking frame and having to find a member of staff to help is not good for a five star hotel. Slopped entrance was looked... no offer of news paper anymore and no one explained to us that the breakfast setup had changed.. ummm.. spa pool area is looking very shabby and really needs a coat of paint... Still we love this hotel and hope these issues are work in progress. Also on a note appears you can just walk straight into the pool and spa area without anyone asking if you are staying at the hotel or have even paid to use the facilities... This is a concern that needs urgent attention... Another note we had been out for a walk and came back to chill in the lounge and every seat/table was reserved for afternoon tea... Not a single seat to relax in....

Great hotel, superb service, drinks at the bar are extortionate (£20 for a gin & tonic and an orange juice), food is excellent

Wonderful old world charm close to the beach at Eastbourne, this five star hotel is a magnificent Edwardian building. Staff and service is seamless and the standard of catering very high.

It’s a nice hotel. Staff are friendly and overall we had a nice stay. Lots of nice armchairs to sit around in and there’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast is fine. Enjoyable but not memorable and would give it a 3/5. The bar is nice and the staff were friendly there too. The room was nice but it would be good to have a fridge. I don’t understand how it has 5 stars but the room rate was reflective of the stay I think. We got a winter deal which made it reasonable overall. £16 for a cocktail was a lot higher than London prices. The pool area needs some renovation too. I cut myself on a ragged tile in the pool itself.
I’m giving it a 4 because overall it was a lovely stay.

We tour spas as a hobby. The spa days here are great, treatments feel amazing. Can't wait to book again. Afternoon tea was delicious and we wanted for nothing thanks to the incredibly helpful staff. The spa itself looks a little dated in places but overall the experience was worthy of the 5*'s

Cannot rate rooms as we were there for afternoon tea. The location is amazing, the lounges, restaurant and other seating areas are gorgeous, spacious and well maintained. The staff were fantastic. Very presentable, polite, Friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Afternoon tea was gorgeous. A nice selection of high quality food that was well presented. Felt very relaxed, never rushed, but staff were always on hand to refresh drinks and tidy. It was a treat afternoon that has certainly made us want to go again and look at staying and making the most of other services available. The small shops on site had some great items on display that were very reasonable in price. Staff again happy to help get anything for you to try. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit.

I was treated to afternoon tea at the Grand. I have been there before and the service was of the same high standard. The food was delicious. A variety of sandwiches on different types of fresh bread, delicate little cakes and fresh scones with jam and clotted tea. A wonderful afternoon.

The hotel is lovely but quite dated. Food is absolutely delicious and staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Beds were very comfortable with delightful pillows and soft bedding. We used the spa facilities, which also require a little TLC, especially the hot tub which jets didn't work properly. The outdoor pool looks absolutely stunning with leafy surroundings but it was to cold to take a dive. Altogether a lovely and relaxing stay after a hike from Brighton to Eastbourne!

Lovely location. Lounge was excellent with nice view. Food was okay. Unfortunately, I had the Grand burger and French Fries. The burger was heavily spiced and undercooked and the fries very heavily salted. Not the best and not as you would expect at a hotel of this standard. The soup was excellent and the afternoon tea was fine. So meal wise a bit hit and miss.

My mother and I had a wonderful time at The Grand. We enjoyed the band on Friday and Saturday along with the dancing. Cocktails were lovely. Breakfast was amazing, with such a wide selection to choose from. Room was perfect and we had a sea view.

Had afternoon tea for a birthday celebration and it was lovely. Amazing service and beautiful surroundings. Some would say dated, but I'd like to call the hotel interiors faded grandeur!
Beautiful cakes and sandwiches and glass of bubbly, just shy of £50 per person, inclusive of service charge.
Worth it!

Fantastic hotel experience.
The staff can't do enough for you. The history of the hotel comes through in all the vast rooms.
The spa could do with a few more facilities, but it has plenty of treatments, so I would mark it down for that.
Already enjoyed two stays here this year and would recommend it for a great break.

I took my mum there for Mother's Day afternoon tea. It couldn't have been more perfect.
The setting is beautiful, with a fabulous interior, very attentive waiting staff and the tea was delicious.
Definitely thinking of upgrading to full Mother's Day lunch next year!

Fell short of a great 5 star hotel. Superior room could have had a mini bar even trouser press for being 5 star. Staff and food very good though. Lovely leisure centre. Some furniture needs upgrading.

An amazing building architecturally with a grand dining room, foyer and lounge. The scale of this place is stunning and that is the main appeal. Unfortunately let down by poor food, poor service and being badly overpriced. Been here for dinner and drinks a number of times and every visit is a disappointment. Go for the architecture if you must but then leave again as fast as possible. Anything more and you will only be left disappointed.

What a lovely day we had at the Grand hotel as a pre wedding treat for my daughter. The spa facilities and treatments were so relaxing. The staff were so accommodating, attentive and very professional, finished off with a delicious lunch. Thankyou!

We stayed here for the tennis. It was a great stay. Quiet comfortable rooms, brilliant breakfast and service, and lots of tennis players wandering about! I had to work sadly, so I set up home in a quiet corner. I was looked after nicely.

Lovely helpful staff.
Food great, even for gluten free.
Lovely inside pool, didn't use the outside one as it was raining most of our visit.
Highly recommend.
Will definitely return.

The Grand Hotel definitely stood up to its name, Grand in everything they have to offer. From reserved parking, to checking in, to the beauty of their accessible rooms, suites. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the whole experience was fantastic.

Absolutely first class hotel, the staff were very nice, they all made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Dinner was superb and the continental breakfast had lots of choices. The wellness facilities were brilliant and again all the staff were just lovely. Will definitely be coming back.

Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Decor is very much in keeping with the quality expected though not so much so in some of the bedrooms which need a little TLC a standard deluxe doesn't have a fridge for example but bottled water left daily. But thoroughly enjoyed the stay and breakfast had everything we needed would definitely recommend 😊

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Our bedroom was fine but the en-suite bathroom was distinctly tired. Also noted the seats in one of the lounges were grubby. Had a disappointing dinner. But Covid must have had a big impact and they are working hard to get everything in tiptop condition. Will definitely go back in a year or two.
