The hotel is lovely but quite dated. Food is absolutely delicious and staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Beds were very comfortable with delightful pillows and soft bedding. We used the spa facilities, which also require a little TLC, especially the hot tub which jets didn't work properly. The outdoor pool looks absolutely stunning with leafy surroundings but it was to cold to take a dive. Altogether a lovely and relaxing stay after a hike from Brighton to Eastbourne!

Lovely location. Lounge was excellent with nice view. Food was okay. Unfortunately, I had the Grand burger and French Fries. The burger was heavily spiced and undercooked and the fries very heavily salted. Not the best and not as you would expect at a hotel of this standard. The soup was excellent and the afternoon tea was fine. So meal wise a bit hit and miss.

My mother and I had a wonderful time at The Grand. We enjoyed the band on Friday and Saturday along with the dancing. Cocktails were lovely. Breakfast was amazing, with such a wide selection to choose from. Room was perfect and we had a sea view.

Had afternoon tea for a birthday celebration and it was lovely. Amazing service and beautiful surroundings. Some would say dated, but I'd like to call the hotel interiors faded grandeur!
Beautiful cakes and sandwiches and glass of bubbly, just shy of £50 per person, inclusive of service charge.
Worth it!

Fantastic hotel experience.
The staff can't do enough for you. The history of the hotel comes through in all the vast rooms.
The spa could do with a few more facilities, but it has plenty of treatments, so I would mark it down for that.
Already enjoyed two stays here this year and would recommend it for a great break.

I took my mum there for Mother's Day afternoon tea. It couldn't have been more perfect.
The setting is beautiful, with a fabulous interior, very attentive waiting staff and the tea was delicious.
Definitely thinking of upgrading to full Mother's Day lunch next year!

Fell short of a great 5 star hotel. Superior room could have had a mini bar even trouser press for being 5 star. Staff and food very good though. Lovely leisure centre. Some furniture needs upgrading.

An amazing building architecturally with a grand dining room, foyer and lounge. The scale of this place is stunning and that is the main appeal. Unfortunately let down by poor food, poor service and being badly overpriced. Been here for dinner and drinks a number of times and every visit is a disappointment. Go for the architecture if you must but then leave again as fast as possible. Anything more and you will only be left disappointed.

What a lovely day we had at the Grand hotel as a pre wedding treat for my daughter. The spa facilities and treatments were so relaxing. The staff were so accommodating, attentive and very professional, finished off with a delicious lunch. Thankyou!

The Grand Hotel definitely stood up to its name, Grand in everything they have to offer. From reserved parking, to checking in, to the beauty of their accessible rooms, suites. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the whole experience was fantastic.

Absolutely first class hotel, the staff were very nice, they all made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Dinner was superb and the continental breakfast had lots of choices. The wellness facilities were brilliant and again all the staff were just lovely. Will definitely be coming back.

Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Decor is very much in keeping with the quality expected though not so much so in some of the bedrooms which need a little TLC a standard deluxe doesn't have a fridge for example but bottled water left daily. But thoroughly enjoyed the stay and breakfast had everything we needed would definitely recommend 😊

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Our bedroom was fine but the en-suite bathroom was distinctly tired. Also noted the seats in one of the lounges were grubby. Had a disappointing dinner. But Covid must have had a big impact and they are working hard to get everything in tiptop condition. Will definitely go back in a year or two.

A nice hotel, although slightly dated and the rooms are not all worthy of the price(rather small). It was dissapointing not to find tooth paste or tooth brushes for that matter in the bathroom. The ironing board/press was very old and dirty(the inner felt was coming apart and sticky) luckly I checked it before even thinking to iron my shirt(would have definitely ruined my shirt). In the morning for breakfast, we were told to sit anywhere and they’ll be with us. After more than 10min waiting, I had to walk over to the staff to ask to be served. It then took 20min to get a coffee(had to remind them again) and more wait for the food(note the salon was not busy at all) . In summary, a nice hotel but certainly not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

I absolutely love The Grand, its so beautiful!
The staff are so accommodating and professional I can't fault their service.
The whole experience for my wife's birthday weekend was a wonderful experience that we will remember and one that we hope to repeat very soon.
Thank you to everyone that looked after us particularly Chris and Kole.

First time visiting Eastbourne. This hotel and its staff are excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was exceptional. Rooms clean and well presented, dining and bar areas pleasant and good atmosphere. The only thing for me personally that didn't suit was the mattress... too soft and spongy for me but to be fair that is my issue as I'm sure some people like a soft mattress. Overall this is a great place to stay and I would definately choose this hotel if staying again in Eastbourne - which I have to say is a really nice seaside location.

Really great hotel. Enjoyed our visit. The only let down was the spa and bed pillows.
The spa was actually a health club with a fitness pool. Wasn't very relaxing but the treatments made up for it.
The pillows were bad. Too thick and too soft, we both woke up with a sore neck.

We spent six hours in the bar whilst prepping for a very large meeting, 10 of us, staff absolutely attentive. building looks fantastic from the inside like any building of that period, it needs money spending on it the gentleman's cloakroom is something else, as we work in the drainage industry it was worth looking at in this particular quarter outstanding historic pipework, I know sad.

A beautiful hotel and great staff. A special mention for the excellent Maitre D, who was friendly and welcoming. He organised his small army of young waitresses and waiters, quietly and efficiently- and they performed with equal professionalism.

My wife and I were attending a cream tea which was very nice. The service was excellent but the paintwork in the room we were in was showing its age. Overall it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

A lovely, elegant venue with friendly, wellcoming staff. A first class choice for afternoon tea served exactly as it should be with a good choice of menu items. I will certainly return.

What can one say? Superb service, very good food, rooms extremely comfortable. Vast elegant lounges and corridors like being on an ocean liner from the golden age. Good gym too.
