Absolutely GREAT day out. There are loads of strange and wonderful science experiments never heard of before, including the floating chair powered by a hoover! There is a playground, café, science centre, shop and water experiment too. No complaints at all.

Took our eight year old granddaughter here she loved it plenty of hands on activities , small tea room and picnic area . Well worth a visit.

The pretty interesting talks about the old telescopes are the main reason to visit, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the grounds itself are nice to walk around. Don't expect to spend all day here though

Been here a couple of times over the years when I was a child. Great science centre with a core focus on physics and particularly astrophysics. Lots of hands on equipment outside and telescopes indoors for the adults where they host special stargazing evenings.

It's great! Lots of fun things to do and learn about. More impressive than I thought it was going to be given it was cloudy and the telescopes were closed. Will be back on a clear night for sure.

We have visted this place three times over several years and it's always a good but different day out. There are lots of interactive scientific things to do, which we all enjoy. There is always a couple of interesting and varied interactive talks that is made fun for the kids. You won't be disappointed if you visit.

This place is spectacular on a clear night, you can see so many stars and then to see the laser beam coming out of the observatory too. Never seen anything like it.

More aimed at children, but still very fun! Everything is interactive and comes with an explanation. Probably better to go in the evening so the Observatory part is actually in action.

Very interesting guided tour. Lots of interactive science stuff, mostly aimed at kids, but not too childish for adults.
Some of three interactive things weren't working when we visited (e.g. the water / irrigation examples in the gardens didn't have enough water in it to work, which was a shame).
All in all, definitely worth a visit.

I am afraid we went on day when there were 2 school parties it was impossible to really see or hear anything so we left after 15mins

Fantastic! A whole day of fun and interesting activities to do for all the family. Exciting exploration outdoors with water, sound and two telescope domes with telescopes to tour, and indoors lots and lots of experiments with different materials and elements to play with while learning. A small cafe serving hot and cold food to see you through the day. Highly recommended, our 5 year old loved it and wished she could live there!
