If you didn’t know already, there are changes happening with Google Analytics.
Currently, the version being used is called Universal Analytics (UA). But this will cease to exist from 1st July 2023. It will be replaced by GA4 and the transition will be mandatory.
However, you can implement GA4 now and start capturing the new data and get a better understanding of your online visitors quicker, rather than starting from scratch in July and having to wait a few months to start making sense of the new data, (as all UA data will differ from GA4 data so the UA data you get in June will be different from the GA4 you get in July).
But what does the new GA4 mean for you and your business?
Essentially, you’ll be tracking behaviour based on more detailed data which will give improved benefits such as…
a few examples of its new capabilities include:
As mentioned before, Getting GA4 setup as quickly as possible is recommended since you can’t import data from the legacy version once it’s gone. In other words, you’ll want to start collecting data and getting familiar with GA4 before completely replacing the Universal Analytics version and this is how Google recommends transitioning.
The good news is there are walkthrough guides on how to setup GA4 in your analytics online from Google.
So if you value having the knowledge of what your website visitors are doing and how they are behaving, so you can make informed and detailed decisions on how to make things better for your customers, then now’s the time to look into GA4.
