Celebrate Christmas with less waste
20th December 2021
... Comments
If you have opted-in to our paid garden waste collection service, you can recycle your real Christmas tree by cutting it up and placing it in your brown bin.  Please make sure all decorations, tree stands and pots are removed before recycling.

Alternatively, you can take it to one of the many collection points (listed below) across Eastbourne by Sunday 16 January 2022.

Where can I recycle my tree?

Parks

  • Princes Park - Wartling Road bring site (adjacent to Test Centre car park)
  • Archery – Churchdale Road in front of disabled toilet
  • Hampden Park – Decoy Drive Entrance (on your right before you reach the café)
  • Gildredge Park – Entrance via the Goffs next to Tennis Club café.
  • Sevenoaks Recreation Ground - Off Sevenoaks Road

Car parks

  • Atlantic Drive – at sewage works car park off the roundabout
  • Fishermans Green
  • Holly Place (near recycling bring site)
  • Junction Road

Not all glass is accepted in your kerbside recycling. Glassware, drinking glasses, windowpanes, mirrors, oven proof and Pyrex dishes are not collected and may cause your recycling to be rejected. Find out what can go into your kerbside recycling www.lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk

It’s not just your daily newspaper that can be recycled; leaflets, letters, envelopes (including the type that have windows), junk mail, magazines and books can all be recycled in your recycling bin

No changes to bin collections over Christmas
Between now and Christmas, Environment First will be hanging tags on refuse and recycling wheelie bins with information about collections over the Christmas break and the coming year.

We are pleased to say there will be no changes to refuse or recycling collections over the Christmas break.

You can download your collection calendar for 2022 at www.EnvironmentFirst.co.uk – there is also an option to download reminders directly to your smartphone calendar!
