The Chaseley Trust is an independent charity-owned care home situated in a beautiful location on Eastbourne’s seafront. We provide specialist, complex nursing care for adults with a wide range of neurological and physical disabilities such as spinal injury, acquired brain injury, stroke, loss of limbs and progressive conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone and Parkinson’s Disease.

Chaseley’s quality of care and rehabilitation aims to promote the continuing independence of its residents by focusing on an approach that centres on them as individuals and encourages each of them to have a fulfilling and enhanced quality of life.  The care we provide can be short term respite, permanent or day care.

We are particularly looking for new Trustees to complement our existing team and wish to appoint experienced people from diverse backgrounds, who have an interest in and insight into the issues facing health related charities.

As a Trustee, you will help us make a real difference. You will bring enthusiasm, energy, commitment, rigour and vision to help make an impact on the lives of Chaseley residents, their families and our staff.

You will play an essential role in applying your skills and knowledge to ensure that we have robust governance and a secure future. You will contribute to determining the overall strategic direction and development as well as effective and efficient administration and stewardship of the Trust. As a Trustee, you will be open and honest and act as a critical friend to the organisation. You will work closely with other members of the Board, the Chair, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.

We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience at a senior level in Health and Social Care, Legal or Financial backgrounds to complement the skills of our existing Trustees.

The Trustee Board meets up to four times a year in Eastbourne during working hours. Trustees are also expected and encouraged to contribute their expertise by supporting specific projects or working groups and to advise on any issues faced by the Trust.  The role of a Trustee is voluntary although reasonable expenses such as travel costs will be reimbursed.

If you would like to help shape the future of The Chaseley Trust, please forward your expression of interest to our Chair of Trustees, Professor Gill Davies via the Chief Executive of the Trust, Emma Rich-Spice at EmmaR@chaselytrust.org

*Successful Trustees would be required to complete a free Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Criminal Record Check).
