The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for both wind and rain for the town for Bank Holiday Monday.
The yellow warnings come into play overnight on Sunday and remain in force until mid-afternoon on Easter Monday.
Gusts of up to 70mph could pound the coast.
The Highways Agency has also put out a severe weather alert for high-sided vehicles, caravans, motorbikes and other vulnerable vehicles, asking them to take extra care on the roads.
