The UK government has legally binding obligations under the Climate Change Act passed by Parliament to reduce its carbon emissions fast enough to achieve Net Zero by 2050 in line with its commitments under the UN IPCC Paris Agreement of 2015 and thereby help the world to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. This means that UK businesses have to comply with an increasing amount of Net Zero and Sustainability legilsation if they are to secure contracts or become part of the supply chains of large corporations.
Thanks to some very generous grant funding, together with sterling support from the staff of OnePlanet.com, the Eastbourne Eco Action Network CIC can now offer, for the next three months at least, to produce - free of charge for any local business or community group - a customised sustainability plan and report based on the One Planet Eastbourne digital platform: https://app.oneplanet.com/.../plans/bourne-carbon-free-1.
The digital report will include a facility for the organisation to download it in a variety of formats and to customise the printing of it if required. The organisation can, if it wishes, take over the maintenance and updating of the plan once it has been created. The value of such a report is that it helps an organisation to demonstrate its sustainability journey, and its compliance with Net Zero legislation, when bidding for contracts or applying for grants. It also demonstrates to customers, and the public generally, the organisation's sustainability credentials.
