From a Ditzylady to an award winning Eastbourne Social monster

Two years in business, but not just any business.  I put down my law books in 2014 and left the security of a longstanding career in local government to begin a brand new adventure into the world of social media.

My social journey began in 2011 when I discovered Instagram and Twitter and I immediately enjoyed and saw the potential in the seemingly unlimited potential of connecting with people based on interest and community rather than just what was then a more limited world of Facebook family and friends.

How times have changed!  Facebook is now the undisputed leader of business opportunities but I still absolutely hold strong soft spots for Instagram and Twitter as they are both the reason I fell for the world of social.

What began as a bit of fun with my photography as ditzyladym has developed into a business, which is now coming up to its second birthday.

I have loved the way being in business has completely turned my life upside down.  9-5 is a meaningless concept.  I don’t count how many hours I work or watch the clock or dread Mondays.

I will be speaking about some of my stories in both social and business at #EBtweetup in July, which itself is celebrating 5 years as an event.  I am chuffed that I was there for the first one, and will be speaking at its milestone fifth birthday.
