We know growing a business can be hard. But it doesn’t need to be as hard as you may think.
You see, we’ve spent a lot of time over the years with businesses like yours and in nearly every case, the owner comes to us and at some point, early in their journey with thebestof, they’ll say “We’ve tried doing X, Y, Z but it doesn’t work”.
So, we delve deeper and it turns out that they are actually doing the right thing, but doing it the wrong way hence the phrase, that we picked up from an associate, called “Bananarama Syndrome” coined from their hit in 1983 with the Fun Boy Three – “It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it. That’s what gets results”.
So, they’re sending emails out – Doing the right thing.
But the subject line isn’t interesting, or the copy is too salesy – Doing it the wrong way.
They’ve tried Google Ads – Doing the right thing.
But the settings, keywords, negative keywords aren’t right – Doing it the wrong way.
They’re out talking to customers in their shop or venue – Doing the right thing.
But not asking the right questions – Doing it in the wrong way.
Examples of Bananarama Syndrome - “It’s not what you do, it’s the way that you do it, That’s what gets results”.
So all is not lost. You may well be doing exactly what you need to do to get more enquiries, more calls, more sales. But just need to do it in a slightly different way to see the results you had hoped for.
We can help you with this, so why not give us a call to have a look at your marketing and see how we can cure any signs of “Bananarama Syndrome” in your business.
