Sussex Chamber are working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and other partners to create a Retrofit Skills Plan for the East Sussex area.
Over the next decade the area will see a significant increase in demand from the public sector and its partners, as well as from private home-owners and local businesses, for ‘retrofitting’ housing and other buildings in East Sussex. This will offer opportunities for those construction and engineering companies and trades people who have the right skills to win and deliver these contracts.
In order to prepare for this, it is important that Sussex Chamber and partners understand what local employers, and those working in their supply chain, particularly in the construction sector are doing to improve their ‘retrofit’ skills, so that they can support them better through the Retrofit Skills Plan they are developing.
They would be grateful if you could take 5 minutes to complete a survey so that they can gain an evidence base and ensure that the proposed plan meets your organisation’s needs.
They are seeking responses by the Sunday 3 December and can offer a £75 voucher to pay for or towards a retrofit related course at the East Sussex College Group Green Growth Hub to the first 150 respondents to this survey*. In addition, they are exploring ways of offering subsidised learning to those who express an interest in the wider raft of available courses in East Sussex. *The course needs to be booked January - March 2024.
