It's always a challenge to get your name known and to let people know that you exist, let alone encourage new members. As a choir we, like many others, struggle to increase our membership - we follow the usual avenues of press releases and advertising our concerts, but identifying other opportunities can be a challenge. Luckily our choir is blessed with some very talented and forward thinking individuals who identify many opportunites to let others know what we are all about.
We invested some of our choir funds a while ago in some roadside banners without really knowing if anyone would take any notice of them. Whilst they take time to put up, get down again and need maintaining, what a boon they are! This term we have attracted several new members who saw our roadside advertising and got in touch to find out more. These enquirers are now fully included members of the choir, so our advertising gamble is clearly paying off.
Being a part of the Best of Eastbourne website is also a tremendously good way to tell others about the choir and what it gets up to, so we are really grateful to have been included.
